| Abstract: | The reaction of 2,3.4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-alpha-D-glucopyranosyl bromide with a 6-aryl-5-cyano-2-(methylthio)pyrimidin-4(3H)one in aqueous acetone in the presence of KOH furnishes a 4-(beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy)pyrimidine and a 3-(beta-D-glucopyranosyl)pyrimidine as the major and minor product. respectively. |
