Abstract:Six extracts of the root powder of Anemone hupehensis have been bioassayed against 6 species agricultural pest insects. The results indicated that 6 extracts had significant contact action to 3 species aphids and two-spotted spider mite, methanol extract had strong repellent and antifeedant activity against the larva of cabbageworm and pink bollworm, and ether extract inhibited the growing development of the larva of cabbageworm. The results of the analysis for the root, stem and leaf powder of Anemone hupeheasis by means of tube-test and paper disc-test showed that the root, stem and leaf powder contained triterpenoid saponins, flavones, coumarins, phenols and organic acids.
