| Abstract: | Escherichia coli K-12 deficient in galactose-1-phosphate uridyl transferase is capable of converting significant amounts of d-[1-(14)C]galactose to (14)CO(2), whereas strains deficient in other enzymes of the Leloir pathway cannot do so. |
