| Abstract: | Isotope effects on electron transfer reactions are discussed in terms of the multiphonon radiationless transition theory. The D20 substitution effect on the oxidation of cytochrome c (Kihara &; McCray, 1973) is analyzed. On the basis of these results the molecular mechanism for cytochrome c oxidation is proposed. |
