| Abstract: | Sulfate activating enzymes, ATP sulfurylase and APS kinase, were newly isolated from a thermophile, Bacillus stearothermophilus. Adenosine 3'-phosphate 5'-phosphosulfate (PAPS) was synthesized by these enzymes. The reaction proceeded more efficiently when an ATP-regeneration system, using acetate kinase, was coupled to the reaction system. |
