| Abstract: | Nuclear subfractionation studies show that heavy shoulder DNA is markedly increased in the heterochromatin fraction of Japanese quail nuclei, but not in the chicken. Since the microchromosomes are heterochromatic in the quail, but not in the chicken, this suggests the heavy shoulder DNA may be localized to the microchromosomes of these birds. |
