Abstract:Regeneration of plants from cultured cells is an important and essential component of plant biotechnology. Advances in the recovery of plants from cultured cells and protoplasts of grasses, and in genetic transformation provide challenging opportunities for the genetic manipulation and improvement of this most important group of food plants.
