Abstract: | Dysgonic fermenter 2 (DF-2) is a fastidious gram-negative pathogen that is capable of causing multiorgan disease in humans. In the case reported here infection resulted in subacute bacterial endocarditis, brain abscess and chronic type 1 membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, a form of renal disease not previously reported in DF-2 infections. The literature is reviewed, and difficulties in diagnosis and treatment are discussed. |
