| Abstract: | A review of the photochemical processes involved in the degradation of petroleum,its products, and some model compounds found in petroleum. Emphasis is given to processes which affect emulsification, water solubility, and toxicity. Waterphase photodegradation is also treated. The interaction of these processes withbiodegradation is discussed. Areas requiring further work are indicated. 96references. |
