Modifications of different EEG rhythms induced by a single neurofeedback session (by the EEG characteristics) directed toward
an increase in the ratio of the spectral powers (SPs) of the α vs θ oscillations were compared with the psychological characteristics of the tested subjects (the group included 30 persons).
A generally accepted neurofeedback technique was used; the intensity of acoustic white noise served as the feedback signal.
EEG potentials were recorded from the C3 and C4 leads. Psychological testing was carried out using Eysenck’s (EPQ), Rusalov’s
(OST), and (16 PF) questionnaires. The directions of changes in the SPs of EEG frequency components were found to significantly
correlate with some individuality-related peculiarities of the tested subjects. The SP of the δ rhythm correlated with the
EPQ scale “neuroticism,” OST scale “social plasticity,” and 16 PF factors H (“parmia”), I (“premsia”), and Q3 (“self-control of behavior”). The SP of the θ component demonstrated correlations with the OST scales “ergisity,” “plasticity,”
and “social temp” and with 16 PF factors M (“autia”), Q4 (“frustration”), and Q1 (“exvia”). The SP of the α rhythm correlated with 16 PF factors Q3 (“self-control of behavior”), G (“strength of superEgo”), O (“hypothymia”), L (“protension”), and N (“shrewdness”). The SP
of the β rhythm correlated with the OST scale “emotionality,” while that of the γ rhythm showed correlations with the 16 PF
indices L (“protension”) and M (“autia”). Changes in the ratio of the α vs θ SPs correlated with the EPQ scale “neuroticism.” Thus, our data confirm the statement that a high individual variability
of the results of a single (first in the series) neurofeedback session is to a great extent related to peculiarities of the
individual psychological pattern of the subject.

This paper presents methods for the stereological analysis of spatial fibre systems on the base of planar or thin sections. Under the assumption that the cross-section figures of the tubular fibres can be measured, the orientation distribution of the fibre system and its line density Lv can be determined from one section only and without distributional assumptions. A simple way to study the degree of randomness of fibre systems consists in the statistical analysis of the point pattern of centres of intersection figures. More sophisticated methods are of stereological nature and yield the spatial reduced second moment measure. Similarly also correlations between two fibre systems can be quantified. Summary A protocol for rapid in vitro propagation using nodal explants obtained from 2-yr-old, field-grown medicinal plants of Plumbago zeylanica L. belonging to the family Plumbaginaceae is described. High frequency bud break and fast development of shoots were induced
on Murashige and Skoog's basal medium supplemented with 27.2 μM adenine sulfate +2.46 μM indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). Induction of rooting was achieved by transferring the shoots to the same basal medium containing
4.92 μM IBA. Using our protocol from one twig of P. zeylanica (eight responsive nodes per explant shoot) within a period of 5 mo., eight plantlets could be raised. After a hardening period
of 4 wk, there was a 90% transplantation success in the field compared to the 60–65% survival of plantlets recorded in the
experiments of previous workers. The plantlets derived through in vitro propagation mimic the growth and morphological characteristics of the donor plants. 相似文献

Supplementation of the growing substrate by nitrogenous additives has been known to improve the production of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq. ex Fr.) P. Kumm. (1871)). However, the application of nano-additives has not been reported in such cultivation yet. The study investigated the effect of nano-urea added in two different doses (3 g and 5 g per kg substrate), once (at spawning or after first flush) or twice (at spawning and after first flush) to the growing substrate consisting of wheat straw and spent oyster substrate (1:1, w/w). Results showed that the application of nano-urea once has induced the highest number of mushroom flushes (four flushes) despite the dose applied. Contrarily to early findings, where high doses of nitrogen have caused inhibition of mushroom growth and production, nano-urea application has had better effects when applied twice. With 5 g/kg, it induced the shortest period between the first and the third flush (15 days). With 3 g/kg, it resulted in the highest biological and economic yields at the third flush (332.7 g/bag and 283.1 g/bag respectively), in total (973.4 g/bag and 854.0 g/bag respectively), the highest biological efficiency (109.6%), and pileus diameter/stipe length ratio (2.8). Detailed palynological studies in two adjoining French Pyrenean valleys, complemented by the study of archives, demonstrate that under similar climatic conditions, the forest history of each valley from the Bronze Age to present time was essentially determined by socio-economical constraints, possibly modified by natural characteristics such as topography. Adventitious root formation in vitro in 1-mm stem slices cut from microshoots of apple cv. Jork 9 was studied using light
and electron microscopy. When indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) had been added to the medium, starch grains accumulated during the
first 24 h of culture in cells of the cambial region and in cells in the vicinity of vascular tissue and in the primary rays.
This accumulation occurred only in the basal part of explants. After that, the nuclei in these cells were activated, and the
density of the cytoplasm and the number of cell organelles increased, whereas starch was broken down. Cambium cells started
to divide transversely and at 96 h, after several divisions, a continuous ring of isodiametric cytoplasmic cells had appeared
around the xylem near the basal cutting surface. The cells in this ring were rich in cell structures, and did not contain
large starch grains and a central vacuole. Root meristemoids regenerated from the portions of the ring that were localized
in the primary rays. From the other cells in the ring, callus developed. The meristemoids did not grow into the direction
of the epidermis as in shoots, but along the vascular bundles. After emergence from the cutting surface, the meristemoids
were transformed into small, dome-like primordia. They developed a typical root apex with root cap, root ground meristem and
tracheid connection with shoot vascular tissue.

Axillary shoot producing cultures were obtained from microcuttings and shoot tips of Calluna vulgaris cv. H.E. Beale. For cultures derived from microcuttings the highest multiplication rate of 38 shoots (5 mm or longer) was obtained on a reduced salt medium with the addition of 0.5 mgl-1 2-isopentenyladenine (2iP) during an 8 week subculture. For shoot tip derived cultures 0.2 mgl-1 6-benzyladenine (BA) was the best cytokinin and led to a multiplication rate of 26 for a 6 week subculture. The addition of 1 g/l casein hydrolysate to a multiplication medium enhanced shoot proliferation in presence of 0.5 mgl-1 BA.Despite various auxin treatments shoots formed no roots in vitro but rooted readily if transferred to a peat substrate ex vitro. A high rooting percentage (80%) was also obtained with shoots taken from the end of a multiplication phase and rooted directly. An additional subculture on low auxin containing media before transfer to peat substrate is recommended because the shoot condition can be improved in this way. A high number of rooted plantlets was produced, so the methods described will allow mass propagation. 相似文献

Glutamine synthetase (GS) from the chick brain was purified to apparent homogeneity by ammonium sulfate fractionation followed by affinity chromatography, electrofocusing and Sephadex G-150 chromatography. The purified enzyme showed a single band on sodium dodecyl sulfate analysis in polyacrylamide gel. By sedimentation equilibrium analysis and gel electrophoresis analysis, it was shown that the enzyme has a subunit molecular weight of 45,000 and a native molecular weight of 364,000, which is consistent with an octameric structure. Sedimentation analysis in the presence of Mg2+ revealed three different forms of macromolecules corresponding respectively to a monomer, a tetramer and an octamer. Among eight cations tested (Ca2+, Co2+, Fe2+, Li+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Zn2+) only Co2+, Mg2+ and Mn2+ supported GS activity; the order of activatory ability was Mg2+>Co2+>Mn2+. The maximum activating effect of Mn2+ occurs only within a very narrow range of concentration: with an excess of cation causing strong inhibition of GS activity. For each cation, maximal GS activity occurs at a defined cation/ATP ratio. A regulatory system in which Mn2+, modulates the Mg2+ dependent GS activity, is proposed; such cation interactions may be of significance in the intracellular control of glutamine synthesis. 相似文献
