QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF BIOECOLOGY DIFFERENTIAL SYSTEM

In this paper, the author studies the quartic bioecology differential system:Here n and q are positive constants, l、m and p are constants. The author also proves some theorems of existence and uniqueness of limit cycles of this differential system.     

Global bifurcations of a periodically forced nonlinear oscillator

The effects of periodic pulsatile stimulation on a simple mathematical model of biological oscillations, called the radial isochron clock (RIC), are investigated as a function of stimulus frequency and amplitude. This system can be reduced to a two parameter, one-dimensional circle map. Numerical and topological methods are used to give a very detailed picture of the observed bifurcations over the complete range of parameters. The bifurcations are generic for a class of models which generalize the RIC.     

北美东部8种温带树种向北分布的限制气候因子

利用分布于北美东部的8种温带落叶树种为研究材料,应用反映热量和降水状况的11个变量为气候指标,用标准差分析方法分析了这8个树种的分布北界与气候因子之间的关系.结果表明,在所使用的气候指标中,同一树种不同地点的温暖指数或年生物温度的标准差最小,说明积温是限制这些树种向北分布的主要气候因子;温暖指数和寒冷指数随着年降水量的增大而减小,寒冷指数随着年较差的增加而增加,温暖指数随着水热综合指数的增加表现出减小的趋势.表明,除了生长季节的积温之外,降水和大陆性等气候条件对温带树种向北分布也起着重要作用.

Alcohol dehydrogenase-coupled spectrophotometric assay of plasmalogenase

Plasmalogenase has been assayed by conversion of the fatty aldehydes, released by hydrolysis of the vinyl ether bond of plasmalogens, to long-chain alcohols by horse liver alcohol dehydrogenase. The reaction was followed spectrophotometrically by measuring the oxidation of NADH. The assay is sufficiently sensitive to enable plasmalogenase activity to be determined in isolated oligodendroglia and derived membranes and in brain microsomal membranes using 50-250 micrograms protein.     

How to Report Record Open‐Circuit Voltages in Lead‐Halide Perovskite Solar Cells

Open‐circuit voltages of lead‐halide perovskite solar cells are improving rapidly and are approaching the thermodynamic limit. Since many different perovskite compositions with different bandgap energies are actively being investigated, it is not straightforward to compare the open‐circuit voltages between these devices as long as a consistent method of referencing is missing. For the purpose of comparing open‐circuit voltages and identifying outstanding values, it is imperative to use a unique, generally accepted way of calculating the thermodynamic limit, which is currently not the case. Here a meta‐analysis of methods to determine the bandgap and a radiative limit for open‐circuit voltage is presented. The differences between the methods are analyzed and an easily applicable approach based on the solar cell quantum efficiency as a general reference is proposed.     

Ultrasonication of insulin-loaded microgel particles produced by internal gelation: Impact on particle's size and insulin bioactivity

Alginate-dextran sulfate (ADS) microgel has been used to protect insulin from gastrointestinal attack and as a carrier to promote insulin permeation through intestinal epithelium. The throughput of ADS submicron particles generation by emulsification/internal gelation is limited by its wide size distribution.
