Protein sources from cereals are used in broiler diets, usually in order to reduce feeding costs. However, their efficient use in poultry diets is limited by the level of fiber whose compounds are resistant to digestion in the small intestine; due to this sugars are not digested by endogenous poultry enzymes. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of multi-carbohydrase (MC) and phytase (Phy) on the total retention of nutrients, retention of apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen (AMEN) (trial 1) and apparent and standardized ileal digestibility of amino acids (trial 2) of rice bran (RB). A total of 245-day-old male broilers (Cobb 500) was distributed at 21-day-old in a completely randomized design in a 2 × 2 + 1 (0 and 200 mg/kg MC; 0 and 50 mg/kg Phy, and basal diet – BD) factorial arrangement of treatments, to give seven replicates and seven birds per replicate. The BD based on corn (trial 1) and cornstarch and casein (trial 2) was used only to determine the coefficients of retention of nutrients and energy, and coefficients of digestibility of amino acids of the RB. The test diets were made by mixing BD and RB 7 : 3 wt/wt basis. There was interaction (P<0.05) between MC × Phy for DM, nitrogen and AMEN, retention and no interaction (P>0.05) for ash, calcium, phosphorous and NDF was observed. Enzymes interacted (P<0.05) on standardized ileal digestibility of arginine, histidine, leucine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, valine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, proline and serine. Dietary combination of MC and Phy resulted in higher (P<0.05) standardized digestibility of arginine, histidine, methionine and threonine relative to single enzyme supplementation or control diet without enzymes. Enzyme isolated inclusions in the diets improved (P<0.05) standardized digestibility of methionine. The supplementation of carbohydrases and Phy in RB will improve the nitrogen, energy and amino acids utilization for broiler chickens.  相似文献

Legume lectins are considered to be antinutritional factors (ANF) in the animal feeding industry. Inactivation of ANF is an important element in processing of food. In our study on the stability ofPisum sativum L. lectin (PSL), a conserved hydrophobic amino acid (Val103) in a surface loop was replaced with alanine. The mutant lectin, PSL V103A, showed a decrease in unfolding temperature (T m ) by some 10 °C in comparison with wild-type (wt) PSL, and the denaturation energy (H) is only about 55% of that of wt PSL. Replacement of an adjacent amino acid (Phe104) with alanine did not result in a significant difference in stability in comparison with wt PSL. Both mutations did not change the sugarbinding properties of the lectin, as compared with wt PSL and with PSL from pea seeds, at ambient temperatures. The double mutant, PSL V103A/F104A, was produced inEscherichia coli, but could not be isolated in an active (i.e. sugar-binding) form. Interestingly, the mutation in PSL V103A reversibly affected sugar-binding at 37 °C, as judged from haemagglutination assays. These results open the possibility of production of lectins that are activein planta at ambient temperatures, but are inactive and possibly non-toxic at 37 °C in the intestines of mammals.  相似文献

This study was conducted to investigate the potential of Aframomum melegueta leaf and seed as biopesticide against Sitotroga cerealella infestation on two paddy varieties at ambient temperature of 28 °C ± 2 °C and relative humidity of 75?±?5%. The two paddy varieties used were FARO 44 and FARO 52. Leaf and seed powders of A. melegueta were made at 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 g while the extracts were made at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5%. Mortality of the insect on the two paddy varieties was record after 24, 48 and 72?h of application of the powders and extracts of this plant. The highest number of the insect was observed on FARO 52 treated with seed powders and extracts of A. melegueta. Only the seed extracts were able to achieve 100% moth mortality within 72 h of application at 4% concentration and were significantly (p?<?0.05) different from others. The powders and extracts of the plant significantly reduced or prevented the adult emergence of the insect and increased their developmental period as well reduced or prevented seed weight loss with seed powders and extracts having the greatest effect on the paddy variety FARO 44. The antinutritional components present in the two paddy varieties include phytate, oxalate, total phenol and tannin cyanide, and the amylase content was also determined, with FARO 44 having the highest value of 17.31, 0.18, 0.43, 10.46 and 5.49 for phytate, oxalate, tannin, cyanide and amylase content, respectively. Powders and extracts of A. melegueta could be introduced into pest management techniques since they are effective against S. cerealella.  相似文献
