Three sterilized acid soils were inoculated with inocula of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Soils were limed and/or P fertilized to produce different fertility levels. Most inocula consisted of mixtures of fine + coarse type endophytes. Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) was seeded in pots and grown in a glasshouse for 4 months. Root colonization by VAM fungi, the relative infection byGlomus tenue compared to that by coarse VAM fungi and the effect of inoculation on red clover growth and mineral nutrition (P, K, Ca and Mg) were studied. Spores were also checked and tentatively identified. Results showed that root colonization by VAM fungi was higher than 50% in most cases, the lower values being found in the soil with the highest P content. Inocula containingG. mosseae + G. tenue infected plant roots only in limed (pH>5.7) soils. A study of the relative colonization by fine and coarse endophytes showed that the competitive ability againstG. tenue followed the orderG. fasiculatum > G. mosseae > G. epigaeum > G. macrocarpum, although soil properties and fertility were crucial factors.Glomus lacteum was tentatively identified in two of the three experimental soils. The inoculum in whichGlommus tenue was most infective was also the most efficient in improving plant growth and nutrient uptake. The effect of inoculation on P and Mg uptake followed a similar pattern. 相似文献

To test the effect of seed treatment with fungicides on the development of mycorrhizal fungi, bean seeds were treated with fungicide dry or vehicled in the organic solvents, ethanol or dichloromethane and then planted in soil inoculated with the mycorrhizal fungus Glomus macrocarpum and/or the plant pathogenic fungus Fusarium solani. Measurements were made at 4 day intervals, to evaluate the location and extent of colonization of either Glomus macrocarpum or Fusarium solani in the root system. Most combinations of fungicide-solvent had little effect on the extent of colonization by each fungus individually. However, when both fungi were inoculated together, symptoms of F. solani were seen only in the tips of roots which indicate that the mycorrhizal fungus was able to limit the occurrence of the pathogenic fungus. 相似文献

Colonisation of wheat by VA-mycorrhizal fungi was found to be higher on a farm managed in an organic manner than on a conventional neighbour 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
Levels of colonisation by vesicular-arbuscular (VA)-mycorrhizal fungi were compared between adjacent farms, one operated in a conventional manner and the other run according to organic farming principles. Wheat grown on the organic farm was found to have VA-mycorrhizal colonisation levels consistently 2 to 3 times higher than wheat on the conventional farm. Glasshouse and field trials indicated that the lower colonisation levels on the conventional farm were due to continual use of fertiliser containing soluble phosphorus (P). The fertiliser appeared to have an immediate negative effect on the rate of colonisation, and also appeared to have a long term negative effect through maintaining higher levels of soluble P in the soil, and by decreasing inoculum levels. Use of the relatively insoluble reactive rock phosphate fertiliser on the organic farm did not decrease levels of VA-mycorrhizas. Colonisation levels did not vary between wheat varieties, and herbicides and seed dressings were also not found to be having any significant effect on levels of colonisation. 相似文献
