Ubiquitination-mediated protein degradation and modification: an emerging theme in plant-microbe interactions 总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9
Post-translational modification is central to protein stability and to the naodulation of protein activity.Various types ofprotein modification,such as phosphorylation,methylation,acetylation,myristoylation,glycosylation,and ubiquitina-tion,have been reported.Among them,ubiquitination distinguishes itself from others in that most of the ubiquitinatedproteins are targeted to the 26S proteasome for degradation.The ubiquitin/26S proteasome system constitutes the majorprotein degradation pathway in the cell.In recent years,the importance of the ubiquitination machinery in the controlof numerous eukaryotic cellular functions has been increasingly appreciated.Increasing number of E3 ubiquitin ligasesand their substrates,including a variety of essential cellular regulators have been identified.Studies in the past severalyears have revealed that the ubiquitination system is important for a broad range of plant developmental processes andresponses to abiotic and biotic stresses.This review discusses recent advances in the functional analysis of ubiquitina-tion-associated proteins from plants and pathogens that play important roles in plant-microbe interactions. 相似文献

Lambda derivatives are described that can be used for cloning DNA fragments of about 20 kilobase pairs (kb) generated by restriction enzymes EcoRi, HindIII, BamHI, MboI and BglII. Recombinants can be selected by their Spi- phenotype and their propagation is facilitated by the presence of a chi site. 相似文献

A plasmid, pgam, has been constructed which expresses the phage lambda gene, gam, under the control of the lambda late promoter, p'R, contained in a form of a p'R-qut-t'R1 module. Lambda red- gam-, which normally do not grow on recA- hosts, are able to grow on recA- hosts containing pgam, because their Q function can turn on the gam gene expression. This facilitates cloning with lambda red- gam- vectors in recA- hosts. 相似文献

The serpin superfamily of serine protease inhibitors is implicated in the regulation of numerous physiological processes. In mice, Spi3/Serpinb6 has a broad tissue distribution. We have investigated the expression of Serpinb6 family members in embryonic and adult gonads. In male and female mice, Spi3/Serpinb6 and NK13/Serpinb6b were expressed in developing gonads and in both somatic and germ cells of adult gonads. By contrast, gonadal expression of Spi3C/Serpinb6c was sexually dimorphic and restricted to male germ cells and female somatic cells. These observations raise the question of the possible role(s) of the Serpinb6 family members in gonad development, gametogenesis, and/or fertilization. 相似文献

A bacteriophage λ cloning vehicle has been constructed for the generation of cDNA libraries. The vector has the following properties. (1) It has a unique BamHI site engineered into the λ gam gene. Segments of DNA can be cloned into this site and clones with an insert can be selected by their ability to grow on an Escherichia coli host lysogenic for phage P2 (Spi− phenotype). (2) When the recombinant phage infects a Cre-producing E. coli strain, a site-specific recombination event results in the excision of a plasmid replicon with the cloned insert. (3) Single-stranded DNAs can be recovered by growing helper M13 phages on bacteria harboring such plasmids. The vector, λMGU2, has been used to construct a nematode (Caenorhabditis elegans) cDNA library. 相似文献
