Effects of Autogamy In Paramecium Tetraurelia On Catalase Activity and On Radiosensitivity to Natural Ionizing Radiations

SYNOPSIS Catalase activity of Paramecium tetraurelia decreased during autogamy and recovered to normal 5 days later. Autogamy also caused changes in the ciliate's sensitivity to natural ionizing radiations—the decrease in cell growth rate previously described in shielded cultures did not occur when autogamous cells were used. Maximum effect of shielding was observed in 11-day-old postautogamous cells. the role of the catalase in the mechanism of natural irradiation effect is discussed.     

Cartography and Clandestinité in Leïla Sebbar’s Shérazade: 17 ans, brune, frisée, les yeux verts

In this paper, I read Leïla Sebbar’s staging in her novel Shérazade: 17 ans, brune, frisée, les yeux verts of the resistance by children of North African and other immigrants in the early 1980s to the French state’s cartographic modes and documents of control. The paper will consider the many uses to which the map was put by the French state in its colonization of North Africa and particularly Algeria, and later in its attempts to control the banlieues its policies of citizenship and cartographic control yielded on the margins of Paris. In this context, I will explore the ways in which the novel’s characters, living clandestinely in a squatt, simultaneously resist, put to use, and even supercede state documents of control as they disrupt everyday life and conduct heists across the city of Paris. The paper will explore unofficial cartographies of Paris, from those afforded by the radios libres and alternative publications such as Libération and Sans Frontièrez, to oral and almost proverbial networks of knowledge criss-crossing the city of Paris, while also tracing the uses to which supplemental cartographic sketches and counterfeit identity cards are put in the pages of the novel. The paper will be in dialogue with theoretical and critical formulations of space, cartography, and state control put forward by Michel de Certeau, Henri Lefebvre, Michel Foucault, and Tom Conley. The paper will conclude with a consideration of the means and limits of resistance by the novel’s characters in the context of this body of theory and criticism.     

盾叶薯蓣地上部分的三个新甾体皂甙

从盾叶薯蓣Dioscorea zingiberensis Wright地上部分分离鉴定了四个甾体皂甙,经鉴定甙A为约莫皂甙元-3-O-[α-L-鼠李吡喃糖基(1→2)]-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖甙;甙B为24α-羟基约莫皂甙元-3-O-[α-L-鼠李吡喃糖基(1→2)]β-D-葡萄吡喃糖甙;甙C为约莫皂甙元-3-O-[α-L-鼠李吡喃糖基(1→2)][β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基(1→4)]-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基;甙D为约莫皂甙元-3-O-[α-L-鼠李吡喃糖基(1→2)][β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基(1→3)]-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖甙。前三者为新化合物,分别命名为盾叶皂甙A_1、A_2、A_3(zingiberoside A_1、A_2、A_3),其中盾叶皂甙A_2的甙元为一新甾体皂甙元,命名为盾叶皂甙元(zingiberogenin)。     

重楼属两种植物种子及其附属结构的发育

重楼属两种植物(五指莲Paris axialis和滇重楼Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis)种子发育的过程基本一致。双受精发生于授粉后10—15天。胚乳为沼生目型。种子发育延续的时间约为150—170天。胚胎发育终止于球形或稍有分化的阶段。种子具二层种皮。 二种重楼种子成熟时的外部形态显著不同。五指莲Paris axialis的种子呈浅棕黄色,长椭圆形,部分为绿白色海绵质假种皮所包裹。假种皮由珠柄发育而来,呈楔形。滇重楼Parispolyphylla var.yunnanensis的种子鲜红色,不规则圆形,外种皮肉质多浆。无假种皮。珠柄橙黄色,短而纤细。     

Leucasin, a triterpene saponin from Leucas nutans.

A new saponin, leucasin, has been isolated from Leucas nutans and characterized on the basis of chemical investigation and spectroscopic studies as 3-O-[β- -glucopyranosyl(1→2)β- -glucopyranosyl]2,3β-dihydroxylup-20(29)-ene. Lupeol palmitate, sitosterol and stigmasterol were also isolated.

Identification and characterization of DNA clones encoding group-II glycinin subunits

Summary DNA clones that encode the group-II subunits of soybean glycinin were identified and compared with clones for group-I subunits. The group-I clones hybridize weakly to those from group-II at low stringency, but fail to hybridize with them at moderate or high stringency. The genes for the group-II subunits are contained in 13 and 9 kb EcoRI fragments of genomic DNA in cultivar CX635-1-1-1. These fragments contain genes for subunits A₅A₄B₃ and A₃B₄, respectively. The larger size of mature group-II subunits compared with group-I subunits is correlated with a larger sized mRNA. However, the gross arrangement of introns and exons within the group-II coding regions appears to be the same as for the genes which encode group-I subunits. Messenger RNA for both groups of glycinin subunits appear in the seed at the same developmental interval, and their appearance lags slightly behind that of mRNAs for the a/a subunits of -conglycinin. In vitro induction and expression of interleukin 2 receptor in a clonal T helper cell differentiation model

Induction and expression of interleukin 2 (IL 2) receptor have been studied using a poly( Glu60 Ala30 Tyr10 ) (GAT)-specific T cell clone of mouse origin. This clone (52-3) has been characterized and it exhibits functional properties of T helper (TH) cells: it leads to a specific anti-DNP response in the presence of DNP-GAT and DNP-primed B cells and it secretes biological activities which can induce polyclonal B cell proliferation and IgM secretion. In vitro this clone mimics the activation stages of normal T lymphocytes and can be obtained under two states of differentiation. depending on the antigen-specific signal provided by antigen-presenting cells (APC). The expression of IL 2 receptor by this clone has been studied by (i) its response to IL 2, (ii) its capacity to absorb IL 2 bioactivity, and (iii) its reactivity with monoclonal antibody 7D4 specific for mouse IL 2 receptor. All the results indicate that the unstimulated state does not express the IL 2 receptor while the activated state does. Clone 52-3 has been compared with clone 14-1.6 that derives from a TH cell line and expresses the IL 2 receptor constitutively. 52-3 offers a good experimental model for studying in vitro, in a clonal TH cell population, the detailed mechanism of IL 2 receptor induction.     

三七中达马烷型皂甙的热不稳定性及酸水解产物

前人已证明人参和三七中富含的达马烷型人参皂甙在通常酸性水解下甙元即发生变化,而在弱酸(如50％醋酸,0.1N盐酸)条件下则形成次级皂甙。本文报道人参甙(ginseno-sides)和三七甙(notoginsenosides)的水溶液在水浴上加热亦分别形成相应的C-20位去糖基的次级皂甙。联系到人参和三七均有在蒸煮加工后C-20位去糖基皂甙收率增大的趋势,似可认为人参和三七中的这类皂甙有相当一部分是在生药的加工泡制以及提取过程中形成的次级皂甙,而不一定是植物体的原生成分。将人参甙Rb_1单体以酸水解,不仅得到主产物人参二醇(3),还分离到异去氢原人参二醇(5)、达马烷-20(22)-烯-3β,12β,26-三醇(6)、20(R)-达马烷-3β,12β,20,25-四醇(7)以及20(S)-和20(R)-原人参二醇(1、2)的混合物,从而认为这些微量成分与人参二醇一样均为达马烷型人参皂甙在酸性水解条件下C-20位糖基断裂后由真甙元的侧链转化形成的工作产物。     

重楼属植物的免疫血清学研究

以海南重楼(Paris dunniana),花叶重楼(P.marmorata),多叶重楼(P.polyphylla),凌云重楼(P.cronquistii),五指莲(P.axialis),滇重楼(Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis)等六种重楼属植物的根茎为材料,提取分离其球蛋白组份作为抗原,免疫家兔得到相应的抗血清。通过免疫双扩散,聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳、免疫电泳、免疫吸收试验以及酶标免疫等方法,研究了重楼属上述六个种和变种的血清学行为以及他们之间的相互关系。在此基础上,用不加权算术平均对群法(UPGMA)经成聚运算,得到基于平均吸收相似系数(Sabs.mean.)和Jaccard's结合系数的两种表相图,这两种表相图的结果是一致的。花叶重楼与多叶重楼有较大的血清反应相似性,五指莲与滇重楼有最大的血清反应相似性。多型种P.polyphylla在形态上的较大变异与血清反应分析的结果是一致的,而且血清反应相似性分析支持了从形态分析得出的假设:Paris dunniana在重楼属的系统发生中是一比较原始的种。
