A new species of the genus Micropeplus Latreille(Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Micropeplinae) from China

A new species of the genus Micropeplus Latreille is described under the name of M. songi sp. nov. Color photos of habitus, head, pronotum, elytra, wing, metasternum, the 3rd to 7th tergites of abdomen, the 8th sternite, and aedeagus are provided. This species was found on fungi from Mt. Wahui in Jiulong County, Sichuan, China.     

New Staphylinidae (Coleoptera) records with new collection data from New Brunswick, Canada: Omaliinae, Micropeplinae, Phloeocharinae, Olisthaerinae, and Habrocerinae

Eleven species of Omaliinae are newly recorded from New Brunswick, bringing the total number of species known from the province to 32 described species. Supporting data are presented for the New Brunswick record of Geodromicus strictus (Fauvel) reported by Majka et al. (2011). Micropeplus browni Campbell, Micropeplus laticollis Mäklin (Micropeplinae), Charyhyphus picipennis (LeConte) (Phloeocharinae), Olisthaerus substriatus (Paykull) (Olisthaerinae), Habrocerus capillaricornis (Gravenhorst), Habrocerus magnus LeConte, and Habrocerus schwarzi Horn (Habrocerinae) are also newly recorded for New Brunswick. These are the first records of the latter four subfamilies from New Brunswick. Collection and bionomic data are presented for each species and discussed.     

中国铠甲属Micropeplus一新种(鞘翅目:隐翅虫科:铠甲亚科)(英文)

记述铠甲属一新种,微齿铠甲Micropeplus dentatus,sp.nov.,新种采自浙江省镇姚。新种鞘翅具两条盘脊,体表无刻点,但具革质刻纹,属于tesserula group。这是该类群在我国的第一次纪录。新种与日本种Micropeplus sharpi Sawada极为相似,新种中足胫节内缘具11个小齿与日本种的8个小齿明显不同。新种主要鉴别特征为:头顶中脊发达,鞘翅具伪缘折脊,中足胫节内缘具11个小齿。模式标本保藏在中国科学院动物研究所标本馆内。     

中国四川寡节隐翅虫属一新种(鞘翅目,隐翅虫科,寡节隐翅虫亚科)

记述中国四川寡节隐翅虫属Micropeplus Latreille 1新种,肖氏寡节隐翅虫Micropeplus xiaoae sp.nov.,提供了它的体形、头部、前胸、鞘翅、后胸腹板,腹部第3～7背板、第8腹板和雄性外生殖器的彩图.新种采自四川冕宁县的冶勒自然保护区的已死杂草中.编制了这个属的中国种检索表.模式标本保存在西华师范大学生命科学学院.肖氏寡节隐翅虫,新种M切印峥如xiaoae sp.nov.(图1～13)新种与来自台湾的Micropeplus spinatus Campbell很相似,但这个种的前胸中部有16个由脊范围的室,后胸腹板的中凹稍宽并超过后胸腹板长度之半,肩脊和伪缘脊之间无刻点,雄性外生殖器的侧叶端部仅有1根短刚毛.这个种也与日本的M.hiromasai Watanabe甜Shibata相似,但新种的前胸有16室,鞘翅刻点粗,肩脊和伪缘脊之间无刻点,以及雄性外生殖器内囊的结构不同,与之有别.正模♂,四川冕宁县冶勒自然保护区,2005-07-19 ～ 20,肖凡、周敏、宋甸远采.副模：21♂♂,15♀♀,采集记录同正模.词源：新种种名源自正模采集者肖凡的姓氏.     

A NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS MICROPELUS (COLEOPTERA: STAPHYLINIDAE: MICROPEPLINM) IN CHINA

Abstract  This paper describes a new species, Micropeplus dentatus , sp. nov., of the rove beetle subfamily Micropeplinae (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) from Zhejiang Province, China. The new species belongs to tesserula group of the genus Micropeplus and is characterized mainly by two discal costae on elytron and no punctures on dorsal surface, strong carina on vertex, strong pseudepipleura and its special genitalia. It is similar to Micropeplus sharpi Sawada from Japan. The type specimens are deposited at the Institute of Zoology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
