This study characterized the behavioral activity of Macrobrachium rosenbergii in the early stages of development, under different stocking densities (25 and 40 animals/m2), and during the light and dark phases of a 24-h cycle. Observations of individuals were made in 8 aquariums. Behavioral recording lasted 15 min/aquarium, 4 times/day and 4 days/week, 4 weeks in total. Food was offered twice daily. Observational methods included a combination of behavioral sampling and scan sampling. During the light phase, inactivity, cleaning and remaining in a shelter were the most frequent behaviors. During the dark phase the subjects displayed a higher frequency of feeding, exploration, swimming, and digging. At low density, the animals gained more weight and exhibited greater growth overall. These results indicate a behavioral pattern that is more favorable to animals in the lower density cultivation environment that can also create better living conditions for these shrimp, favor survival rates and therefore improve management success.  相似文献

Causes for the death of the eggs in the prawn Macrobrachium nobilii are: i) shedding of eggs by ovigerous female, and ii) infection by epibionts: a Saprolegnial fungus, bacteria (gram negative) and protozoans (Vorticellids and Paramecium). A cause for the death of freshly hatched larvae of some decapods is the reduction in reserve yolk energy in the larvae hatched in the last few batches. To circumvent these disadvantages, an artificial incubator was designed, in which 70% of the 3-day old eggs can successfully be incubated and hatched simultaneously. The isolted eggs are irrigated with filtered and aerated water over a diaphragm in the incubator; the water flushed from below through the diaphragm in the artificial incubator, sways and keeps the eggs continuously in a suspended motion, simulating the irrigation technique of the mother.Presented in the Second International Symposium on Invertebrate Reproduction held in Davis, California during August, 1979  相似文献

In this study, we report the bioinformatics characterization, gene expression, transglutaminase activity and coagulation assays of transglutaminase (TGase) of freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii identified from the constructed cDNA library by GS FLX™ technology. Even though, TGase have sequence similarity, they differ extensively in their substrate specificity and are thought to play an important in variety of functions such as development, tissue differentiation and immune responses etc. Gene expression studies show that MrTGase is widely distributed in the tissues such as heart, muscle, intestine, brain, etc., but higher amounts are found in hemocyte. Results of TGase mRNA relative expression in hemocyte, before and after infected with white spot syndrome baculovirus (WSBV) and Vibrio harveyi show that the gene expression initially increases up to 24 h and then it falls down. Coagulation assay results showed that the endogenous TGase is involved in the rapid assembly of a specific, plasma clotting protein. Structural studies show that MrTGase contains a typical TGc domain between 323 and 424, and two putative integrin-binding motifs at Arg180–Gly181–Asp182 and Arg269–Gly270–Asp271. The predicted 3D model of MrTGase contains 47.04% coils (366 amino acid residues), 26.74% extended strand (208 residues), 21.72% α-helix (169 residues) and 4.5% beta turns (35 residues). BLASTp analysis of MrTGase exhibited high sequence similarities with other crustacean TGase, with the highest observed in white shrimp (77.1%). Moreover, the phylogenetic analysis also showed that MrTGase clustered with the other members of crustacean TGase. Overall, these results suggested that MrTGase is a major and functional TGase of M. rosenbergii for haemolymph coagulation and also in spread of infection.  相似文献

The shrimp Macrobrachium amazonicum (Heller 1862) has an extremely large geographic range (>4000?km across) in northern and central South America, comprising estuarine and fully limnic inland populations, which are hydrologically isolated from each other. Significant variations in ecology, physiology, reproduction, and larval development suggest an at least incipient allopatric speciation due to limited genetic exchange. In a comparative experimental investigation with shrimps from the Pantanal (upper Paraguay River basin) and the Amazon delta, respectively, we measured larval body size, dry weight (W), biochemical (total protein; lipid; fatty acids, FA), and elemental composition (carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen; collectively CHN) at hatching. All these early larval traits are relevant for the degree of developmental dependence on planktonic food sources. Various consistent differences were observed between the two populations: Newly hatched larvae produced by shrimps from the Amazon delta were significantly smaller and showed lower values of W, CHN, protein, and unsaturated FA compared to those from the Pantanal. On the other hand, they contained significantly higher quantities of total lipid and saturated FA and, in consequence, higher ratios of lipid:protein, C:N, and saturated:unsaturated FA. All these differences in biomass and chemical composition suggest that the larvae of the Amazon population are energetically better adapted to planktonic food limitation, which likely occurs during riverine downstream transport toward coastal marine waters, also explaining previous observations of much stronger initial starvation tolerance in larvae from the Amazon versus those from the Pantanal. The latter develop in highly productive lentic inland waters, where large body size, an early onset of feeding, and a strong musculature (indicated by a high protein content) should facilitate their role as planktonic predators and allow for fast growth. An initial independence from food (lecithotrophy in the zoea I stage) as well as a preference for oligohaline rather than fully limnic conditions observed in the Pantanal larvae are interpreted as traits that have persisted from an ancestral coastal marine clade. Altogether, consistent ontogenetic differences between shrimps from the Pantanal and the Amazon estuary support the hypothesis that the taxon M. amazonicum comprises a complex of closely related but separate species.  相似文献

Summary

In Venezuela, M. jelskii and M. amazonicum are both found living in fresh waters and sometimes share the same habitat. The respective patterns of development of the two species have been compared, with reference to such parameters as egg size and number, duration and number of larval stages, and body length of the first zoea. Development of M. jelskii exhibits features characteristic of fresh water species, whereas that of M. amazonicum has features usually associated with brackish water species.  相似文献

Summary

The effects of N6, 2′-O-dibutyryl cyclic adenosine monophosphate (dbcAMP) and the leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) on embryo development of the giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, were studied. Embryos 1.5 days old were cultured in vitro in 15% artificial seawater supplemented with 0.05 mM, 0.1 mM or 0.5 mM dbcAMP, or with 10 ng/ml, 20 ng/ml or 50 ng/ml LIF for 2 days. No differences in the morphology or growth of the embryos between the supplemented and the control groups were observed. The developmental rates as revealed by the eye formation rates were not altered with either supplement. The survival rates of the embryos declined during the course of development; and, again, the rates were not altered when supplemented with dbcAMP or LIF. Although there were no significant changes in the eye formation rate in embryos supplemented with 0.05 mM dbcAMP, an increase in the hatching rate was found. In contrast, supplementation with LIF did not improve the hatching rates. Germ cell development seemed to be most affected. The number of primordial germ cells (PGCs), the progenitors of gametes, was significantly increased with both dbcAMP and LIF supplementation. However, supplementation with 0.05 mM dbcAMP and 10 ng/ml LIF combined did not provide any additional effect on this feature.  相似文献

应用反相高效液相色谱法(RP-HPLC)研究了恩诺沙星在罗氏沼虾(Macrobrachiumrosenbergii)体内的药物代谢动力学。实验结果表明,恩诺沙星在血淋巴、肝胰腺、肌肉中的平均回收率分别为86.54%±2.39%、85.43%±2.75%、95.01%±1.99%,其代谢产物环丙沙星在血淋巴、肝胰腺、肌肉中的平均回收率分别为94.34%±8.30%、75.17%±5.42%、80.42%±1.67%;恩诺沙星及其代谢产物环丙沙星在三种组织中的平均日内精密度分别为3.39%±0.53%和3.92%±1.24%,而日间精密度分别为5.11%±1.73%和5.28%±2.10%。恩诺沙星、环丙沙星的最低检测限分别为0.02μg/ml和0.01μg/ml。罗氏沼虾以10mg/kg虾体重剂量单次肌肉注射给药后,血液中药物浓度即刻达到峰值,并迅速向组织中分布。实验数据经MCPKP药动学软件分析,恩诺沙星在血淋巴中的主要药物代谢动力学参数为:t1/2α为0.581h、t1/2β为69.315h、Vd/F为7.230L/kg、CL/F为0.035L/h.kg、K12为0.01/h、K21为0.005/h、AUC为291.898μg/ml.h、Tmax为0.083h、Cmax为6.293μg/ml;恩诺沙星在肝胰腺、肌肉组织中主要药动学参数:t1/2α为1.941h、0.000h;t1/2β为70.732h、59.456h;AUC为308.07μg/ml.h、217.039μg/ml.h。三种组织中均能检测到恩诺沙星的活性代谢产物环丙沙星,但含量均处于较低水平,药物浓度-时间数据经MCPKP药动学软件处理后,不能用开放性一室模型或二室模型拟合。  相似文献
