由于草本植物持续上侵长白山灌木苔原,形成了强烈的灌草群落种间竞争。本研究以牛皮杜鹃-小叶章群落(Comm.Rhododendron aureum-Deyeuxia purpurea)为对象,根据小叶章的入侵程度设置4种盖度差异显著的样方(无、轻度、中度、重度入侵),并设3个施氮水平(自然状态、添加11.8 kgN·hm-2·a-1及添加23.6 kgN·hm-2·a-1),进行原位氮沉降模拟实验,监测灌木牛皮杜鹃和草本植物小叶章光合特性的差异和变化趋势,研究小叶章入侵苔原带的内在生理机制。结果显示:(1)小叶章净光合速率大于牛皮杜鹃,小叶章盖度越高、其叶绿素含量越高,而牛皮杜鹃叶绿素含量降低,随着小叶章入侵程度的增加,其净光合速率增强;(2)施氮可以提高牛皮杜鹃和小叶章的叶绿素含量和净光合速率,促进植物生长,但小叶章的增幅更大,从而增强了小叶章的竞争优势;(3)施氮和小叶章入侵具有复合作用,小叶章盖度越大,对其施氮导致小叶章净光合速率与叶绿素含量的增幅越大,而牛皮杜鹃的增幅减小。所以小叶章的成功入侵可能与其具有较高的净光合速率有关,并且施氮有利于提高小叶章的净光合速率,随着氮沉降的继续增加,更有利于小叶章的生长并提高其竞争力。  相似文献

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can be differentiated into cell types derived from all three germ layers by manipulating culture conditions in vitro. A multitude of growth and differentiation factors have been employed for driving MSCs towards a neuronal phenotype. In the present study, we investigated the potential of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins—fibronectin, collagen-1, collagen-IV, laminin-1, and laminin-10/11, to induce a neuronal phenotype in bone marrow derived human MSCs in the absence of growth factors/differentiating agents. All of the ECM proteins tested were found to support adhesion of MSCs to different extents. However, direct interaction only with laminin-1 triggered sprouting of neurite-like processes. Cells plated on laminin-1 exhibited neurite out growth as early as 3 h, and by 24 h, the cells developed elaborate neurites with contracted cell bodies and neuronal-like morphology. Function-blocking antibodies directed against α6 and β1 integrin subunits inhibited neurite formation on laminin-1 which confirmed the involvement of integrin α6β1 in neurite outgrowth. Mechanistic studies revealed that cell adhesion to laminin-1 activated focal adhesion kinase (FAK), and mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (MEK/ERK) signaling pathways. Abrogation of FAK phosphorylation by herbimycin-A inhibited neurite formation and also decreased activities of MEK and ERK. Pharmacological inhibitors of MEK (U0126) and ERK (PD98059) also blocked neurite outgrowth in cells plated on laminin-1. Our study demonstrates the involvement of integrin α6β1 and FAK-MEK/ERK signaling pathways in laminin-1-induced neurite outgrowth in MSCs in the absence of serum and differentiation factors.  相似文献

This study examined tissue nutrient responses of Desmodium nudiflorum to changes in soil total inorganic nitrogen (TIN) and available phosphorus (P) that occurred as the result of the application of alternative forest management strategies, namely (1) prescribed low-intensity fire (B), (2) overstory thinning followed by prescribed fire (T + B), and (3) untreated control C), in two Quercus-dominated forests in the State of Ohio, USA. In the fourth growing season after a first fire, TIN was significantly greater in the control plots (9.8 mg/kg) than in the B (5.5 mg/kg) and T + B (6.4 mg/kg) plots. Similarly, available P was greater in the control sites (101 μg/g) than in the B (45 μg/kg) and T + B (65 μg/kg) sites. Leaf phosphorus ([P]) was higher in the plants from control site (1.86 mg/g) than in either the B (1.77 mg/g) or T + B plants (1.73 mg/g). Leaf nitrogen ([N]) and root [N] showed significant site–treatment interactive effects, while stem [N], stem [P], and root [P] did not differ significantly among treatments. During the first growing season after a second fire, leaf [N], stem [N], litter [P] and available soil [P] were consistently lower in plots of the manipulated treatments than in the unmanaged control plot, whereas the B and T + B plots did not differ significantly from each other. N resorption efficiency was positively correlated with the initial foliar [N] in the manipulated (B and T + B) sites, but there was no such relation in the unmanaged control plots. P resorption efficiency was positively correlated with the initial leaf [P] in both the control and manipulated plots. Leaf nutrient status was strongly influenced by soil nutrient availability shortly after fire, but became more influenced by topographic position in the fourth year after fire. Nutrient resorption efficiency was independent of soil nutrient availability. These findings enrich our understanding of the effects of ecosystem restoration treatments on soil nutrient availability, plant nutrient relations, and plant–soil interactions at different temporal scales.  相似文献

目的观察绞股篮和高脂血症对成年雄性兔睾丸显微结构的影响。方法40只日本雄性大耳白兔随机分为A组、C组、D组、E组,分别喂饲高脂饲料+绞股蓝5g,kg、高脂饲料、标准饲料+绞股篮5g/kg、标准饲料。饲养前和饲养后3周、6周、9周末检测三酰甘油(TG)、胆固醇(TC)、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-C)、高密度脂蛋白胆固醇(HDL-C)。实验结束观察睾丸显微结构。结果①TG、TC、LDL-C、HDL-C:A组、C组随饲养时间延长,TG、TC、LDL-C渐升,与饲养前比较有显著差异(P〈0.05),A组HDL-C渐升,与饲养前比较有显著性差异(P〈0.01);饲养后A组TG、TC、LDL-C低于c组,A组HDL-C高于C组,饲养后组间比较有显著差异(P〈0.05)。②光镜检查:A组、D组、E组生精细胞正常;C组睾丸生精细胞脂肪变性,间质纤维化,基底膜增厚,精子细胞数量下降。结论高脂血症导致睾丸生精细胞脂肪样变,精子细胞数量下降。绞股蓝通过降低血脂、改善血脂代谢,对高脂血症导致的睾丸生精细胞脂肪样变具有抑制作用。绞股篮对标准饲料饲养兔睾丸显微结构无影响。  相似文献

Information on the spatial distribution of past vegetation on local, regional and global scales is increasingly used within climate modelling, nature conservancy and archaeology. It is possible to obtain such information from fossil pollen records in lakes and bogs using the landscape reconstruction algorithm (LRA) and its two models, REVEALS and LOVE. These models assume that reliable pollen productivity estimates (PPEs) are available for the plant taxa involved in the quantitative reconstructions of past vegetation, and that PPEs are constant through time. This paper presents and discusses the PPEs for 15 tree and 18 herb taxa obtained in nine study areas of Europe. Observed differences in PPEs between regions may be explained by methodological issues and environmental variables, of which climate and related factors such as reproduction strategies and growth forms appear to be the most important. An evaluation of the PPEs at hand so far suggests that they can be used in modelling applications and quantitative reconstructions of past vegetation, provided that consideration of past environmental variability within the region is used to inform selection of PPEs, and bearing in mind that PPEs might have changed through time as a response to climate change. Application of a range of possible PPEs will allow a better evaluation of the results.  相似文献

Habitats and fish populations of a subtropical mountain stream in Taiwan were surveyed before and after the hit of super-typhoon Herb in July 1996. There was a significant decrease in total pool area and an increase in total riffle area. Upper stream habitat was more susceptible to the disturbance. Relative abundance of the species was significantly correlated before and after the typhoon (rs=0.89, p<0.001). Morisita's index of similarity for the fish communities in June 1996 and October 1997 ranged between 0.82 and 1.02 for seven out of nine stations. Most common cyprinids decreased in densities after Herb, but recovered seventeen months after the typhoon. There were only minor changes in fish community fourteen months after the typhoon. Cyprinids that are smaller in size, such as Candidia barbata and Abottina brevirostris alticorpus were affected the most. Gobiid Rhinogobius nantaiensis that is well adapted to riffle habitat was unaffected throughout the surveys. The results of this study suggested that in subtropical mountain stream, severe typhoon may significantly alter the habitats, but the impact on fish populations could be relatively small due to features of these mountain species.  相似文献

Herbal products contain several chemicals that are metabolized by phase 1 and phase 2 pathways and also serve as substrates for certain transporters. Due to their interaction with these enzymes and transporters there is a potential for alteration in the activity of drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters in presence of herbal components. Induction and inhibition of drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters by herbal component has been documented in several in vitro studies. While these studies offer a system to determine the potential for a herbal component to alter the pharmacokinetics of a drug, they cannot always be used to predict the magnitude of any potential effect in vivo. In vivo studies are the ultimate way to determine the clinical importance of herb drug interactions. However, lack of content uniformity and lack of documentation of the bioavailability of herbal components makes even in vivo human studies difficult to interpret as the effect may be product specific. It appears that St. John's wort extract is probably one of the most important herbal product that increases the metabolism and decreases the efficacy of several drugs. Milk thistle on the other hand appears to have minimal effect on phase 1 pathways and limited data exists for phase 2 pathways and transporter activity in vivo. Further systematic studies are necessary to assess the significance of herb drug interactions.  相似文献

Blockade of excessive Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling is a therapeutic approach being actively pursued for many inflammatory diseases. Here we report a Chinese herb-derived compound, sparstolonin B (SsnB), which selectively blocks TLR2- and TLR4-mediated inflammatory signaling. SsnB was isolated from a Chinese herb, Spaganium stoloniferum; its structure was determined by NMR spectroscopy and x-ray crystallography. SsnB effectively inhibited inflammatory cytokine expression in mouse macrophages induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS, a TLR4 ligand), Pam3CSK4 (a TLR1/TLR2 ligand), and Fsl-1 (a TLR2/TLR6 ligand) but not that by poly(I:C) (a TLR3 ligand) or ODN1668 (a TLR9 ligand). It suppressed LPS-induced cytokine secretion from macrophages and diminished phosphorylation of Erk1/2, p38a, IκBα, and JNK in these cells. In THP-1 cells expressing a chimeric receptor CD4-TLR4, which triggers constitutive NF-κB activation, SsnB effectively blunted the NF-κB activity. Co-immunoprecipitation showed that SsnB reduced the association of MyD88 with TLR4 and TLR2, but not that with TLR9, in HEK293T cells and THP-1 cells overexpressing MyD88 and TLRs. Furthermore, administration of SsnB suppressed splenocyte inflammatory cytokine expression in mice challenged with LPS. These results demonstrate that SsnB acts as a selective TLR2 and TLR4 antagonist by blocking the early intracellular events in the TLR2 and TLR4 signaling. Thus, SssB may serve as a promising lead for the development of selective TLR antagonistic agents for inflammatory diseases.  相似文献

Abstract. The physiognomy of dry savannas is described as a combination of discontinuous woody perennials and a continuous grassland matrix. Interactions between these two components are of vital importance for the persistence of a savanna landscape. Earlier savanna models have emphasized competitive interactions for water between the two components. Recent studies have argued that small-scale facilitating interactions between woody perennials and the herbaceous understorey are also important. This phenomenon has been given little theoretical consideration in the savanna literature, but it has been an important topic in agroforestry and arid-grassland ecology. This paper reviews some of the evidence for micro-site effects of trees and shrubs, and attempts to integrate their interactions with the surrounding open grassland. Woody perennials modify the microclimate by interception of solar radiation and rainfall. Their root systems extract nutrients horizontally and vertically, which are concentrated in the sub-canopy soil from litter decomposition and root turnover. Legumes are abundant in dry savannas, and may have symbiotic relationships with Rhizobium bacteria. This symbosis increases the availability of nitrogen in the soil. Isolated trees and shrubs initiate feedback mechanisms in their interactions with other organisms, and contribute to an uneven distribution of water and nutrients in dry savanna. This influences the species composition, and community diversity. Small-scale facilitating interaction between the woody and herbaceous components and competitive interaction on larger scales, are complementary processes which together explain a dynamic coexistence.  相似文献
