The chemical investigation of the roots of Vernonia guineensis Benth. (Asteraceae) resulted in the isolation of a new ceramide, named vernoguinamide (1), together with fifteen known compounds, including three anthraquinones, physion (2), erythroglaucin (3) and emodin (4), three triterpenoids, hop-17(21)-en-3β-yl acetate (5), lupeol (6) and betulinic acid (7), six steroids, vernoguinoside A (8), vernoguinoside (9), β-sitosterol 3-O-β-D-glucoside (10), stigmasterol 3-O-β-D-glucoside (11), stigmasterol (12) and β-sitosterol (13) and three fatty acid derivatives, tetracosanoic acid (14), tricosanic acid (15) and arachidic acid glycerol ester (16). The structure of the new compound as well as those of the known compounds were established by spectrometric analysis including HRESI-MS, 1D and 2D-NMR and by comparison with the previously reported data. Among these compounds, the anthraquinones 24 and the triterpene 5 were isolated for the first time from Vernonia genus and compounds 6, 7 and 1416 were extracted for the first time from the species. The isolated compounds were tested for their antibacterial activity and 3, 8 and 9 were the most active compounds against the tested bacteria. Furthermore, the chemophenetic relationships of the isolated compounds and their significance were also discussed.  相似文献

The chemical investigation of the CH2Cl2/MeOH (1:1) extract of the trunk bark and leaves of Baphia leptobotrys Harms (Fabaceae) led to the isolation of nineteen compounds (1–19). Their structures were elucidated based on the analysis of their NMR and MS data. Except for compounds 35, 14 and 15, all the isolated compounds are reported from the genus Baphia for the first time. Furthermore, compounds 8, 10, 16, 17 are isolated from the Fabaceae family for the first time. The crude extract and isolated compounds were screened in vitro for their antileishmanial activity against Leishmania donovani 1S (MHOM/SD/62/1S) promastigotes and cytotoxicity towards Raw 264.7 macrophage cells. The crude extract of B. leptobotrys exhibited moderate activity (IC50 = 63.40 μg/mL). Amongst the tested compounds, ergosterol peroxide (9) and germanicol caffeoyl ester (8) exhibited good activity with IC50 values of 9.43 and 10.24 μM, respectively and showed acceptable selectivity towards macrophage cells (SI > 3.85). The chemophenetic significance of these compounds is also discussed.  相似文献

Emilia fosbergii is a member of the tribe Senecioneae (Asteraceae), most species of which contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Notwithstanding, the phytochemistry of E. fosbergii is poorly understood, and pyrrolizidine alkaloids produced by this species have yet to be characterized. In this work, the presence of 11 pyrrolizidine alkaloids, three caffeoylquinic acid derivatives, and six flavonoids were detected by liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry analyses. Pyrrolizidine alkaloids of otonecine, retronecine, and platynecine bases are annotated in different parts of the plant. Furthermore, emiline was isolated, possibly indicating that E. fosbergii has a close phylogenetic relationship with E. coccinea. The chemophenetic implications of the presence of pyrrolizidine alkaloids in E. fosbergii and tribe Senecioneae are discussed.  相似文献

Phytochemical investigation of the fruit of Lycium barbarum L. has yielded nine alkaloids including one new compound, lycibarbarspermidine T together with eight known compounds. The structures were unambiguously determined by spectroscopic analyses and chemical methods. The chemophenetic significance of all these compounds was summarized. Among the known compounds, compounds 6 and 9 are reported from L. barbarum for the first time, whereas compounds 25 have previously been only found in this plant. The anti-inflammatory effects of all compounds were evaluated by measuring the NO production in RAW 264.7 cells stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The results showed that compounds 13 and compounds 59 could inhibit the NO release of RAW 264.7 cells stimulated by LPS at 30 μM.  相似文献

The Orchidaceae family comprises about 27,000 species and is considered one of the largest families of flowering plants. Herein, the first chemical study of the native Brazilian orchid Cattleya tigrina A. Rich. reports the isolation of 15 compounds of different classes of natural products, among them triterpenoids, stilbenoids, phenolic acids, and 1,4-dihydro-phenanthrenequinone derivatives. The compounds were identified based on spectroscopic analyses. Cytotoxicity assays with plant crude extract, fractions and isolated compounds were performed against the HeLa cells and against the non-cancerous VERO cell lines. The chemophenetic significance of the presence of different compounds in Epidendroideae subfamily and Laeliinae subtribe was also discussed.  相似文献

Phytochemical investigation of the stem bark of Ficus natalensis afforded eleven compounds including one ceramide (1), two anthraquinones (2, 3), four triterpenes (47), two polyols (8, 9) and two steroids (10, 11). The structures of the compounds were determined by spectroscopic analyses including IR, UV, MS, 1D- and 2D- NMR (1H, 13C, 1H–1H COSY, HMQC, HMBC and NOESY), as well as by comparison with literature data. The antibacterial activity and the cytotoxicity of the extract, fractions and some isolated compounds (3, 5, 8 and 9) were evaluated. Some fractions and sub-fractions from various column chromatography displayed moderate antibacterial activity with diameter zone of inhibition (DZI) ranging from 7 to 10 mm. None of the compounds tested had activity. In the present study, all the compounds are isolated for the first time from the species F. natalensis. Compounds 2, 47, 10 and 11 were previously reported from the genus Ficus. The chemophenetic significance of the isolated compounds is discussed.  相似文献

The chemical investigation of the CH2Cl2/MeOH (1:1) extract of the leaves of Rothmannia hispida (K. Schum.) Fagerl. (Rubiaceae) led to the isolation of a new ceramide rothmanniamide (1) and a naturally isolated alkyl cinnamate derivative n-heptadecyl-4-hydroxy-trans-cinnamate (2), along with fifteen known compounds including lupeol palmitate (3), lupeol (4), a mixture of uvaol (5) and erythrodiol (6), ursolic acid (7), 30-nor-2α,3β-dihydroxyurs-12-ene (8), hederagenin (9), stigmast-22-en-3-ol (10), a mixture of β-sitosterol (11) and stigmasterol (12), stigmast-4,22-dien-3-ol (13), stigmasterol 3-O-β-D-glucoside (14), triacontan-1-ol (15), kaempferol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (16) and D-mannitol (17). Their structures were elucidated with the help of MS and NMR data. Compounds 8, 10 and 15 were isolated for the first time from the Rubiaceae family. The crude extract and the isolates were assessed in vitro for their antileishmanial activity against Leishmania donovani 1 S (MHOM/SD/62/1 S) promastigotes and cytotoxicity on RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. Compounds 7 and 8 exhibited a highly potent antileishmanial activity with IC50 values of 0.88 and 1.75 μg/mL, respectively, with good selectivity indexes (SI > 57). The chemophenetic significance of these compounds is also discussed.  相似文献

The chemical investigation of the CH2Cl2/MeOH (1:1) extract from the aerial part of Mussaenda erythrophylla Schumach. & Thonn. (Rubiaceae) resulted in the isolation of sixteen known compounds (116) distributed in coumarins, flavonoid glucosides, quinic acid derivatives, triterpenoids, monoglycerid, steroids, tetraterpenoid and polyol. The structures of the compounds were determined by spectrometric and spectroscopic analysis including MS and NMR data followed by their comparison with reported ones in the literature. The chemophenetic significance of the isolated compounds was discussed. The crude extract and some of the isolated compounds were assessed in vitro for their antileishmanial, cytotoxic and antiplasmodial activities. The crude extract of M. erythrophylla showed moderate antileishmanial activity (IC50 = 61.6 μg/mL) while the hexane soluble fraction showed good antileishmanial activity (IC50 = 31.06 μg/mL) compared to the reference drug amphotericin B (IC50 = 0.11 μM). Compounds 11 and 9 also exhibited potent antileishmanial activity (IC50 = 53.7–52.0 μM). The crude extract as well as the ethyl acetate soluble fraction also exhibited good antiplasmodial activity (IC50 = 7.43 ± 0.00 μg/mL and 14.49 ± 2.96 μg/mL respectively), while compounds 11, 15 and 16 showed weak activity with IC50 > 20 μM compared to the reference drug artemisinin (IC50 = 0.014 ± 0.001 μM).  相似文献

Species of the genus Machaerium characteristically produce aromatic compounds, being the isoflavonoids (isoflavanes and isoflavones), flavones, neoflavonoids, stilbenes and pterocarpans their potential chemophenetic markers. In this study, sixteen compounds were characterized from the acetone extract of Machaerium isadelphum leaves and branches: two isoflavones, six pterocarpans, one flavanone, three sterols and four triterpenes. Seven of these compounds have been previously isolated from other Machaerium species with which M. isadelphum shares the biosynthetic pathways that produce them. In addition, nine of the compounds were isolated for the first time within this genus. It is important to emphasize that their structures are completely consistent with the phytochemistry previously established for Machaerium. Medicarpin, 4-hydroxymedicarpin, 6α-hydroxymedicarpin, mucronucarpan, variabilin, 4-hydroxymaackiain, alfalone and formononetin are considered chemophenetic markers for M. isadelphum.  相似文献

The chemical investigation of the whole plant of Indigofera spicata Forsk (Fabaceae), a medicinal plant from Cameroon, resulted in the isolation of a new benzofuran, named spibenzofuran (1a), together with ten known secondary metabolites including one benzofuran (2), one flavonoid (3), one saponin (6), two triterpenes (4 and 5), two steroids (8 and 11), one phthalate (7) and two fatty acids (9 and 10). All these compounds have been isolated for the first time from this plant. The structures of the isolated compounds were established by spectroscopic analysis including HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR and by comparison of our data with the reported data. The isolated compounds might be considered as the chemophenetic markers of this species, and antibacterial and urease inhibitory activities of some isolated compounds were assessed.  相似文献
