Fractionation of the methanolic extract of Ochna afzelii stem bark has resulted in the isolation of two biflavonoids afzelones A and B along with five known flavonoids, calodenins A and B, afzelone C, 4',5-dimethoxy-6,7-methylenedioxyisoflavone, 4',5,7-trimethoxyisoflavone and the glucoside lanceoloside A. Their structures were determined using spectroscopic and chemical methods.  相似文献

The leaves of Ouratea nigroviolacea (Ochnaceae) afforded two biflavonoids, ouratine A and B together with agathisflavone and stigmasterol. The biflavonoids were characterized as 4'-O-methylated apigeninyl-(I-6, II-8)-4'-O-methylatedapigenin and 4'-O-methylated apigeninyl-(I-6, II-8) apigenin by spectral and chemical transformation studies.  相似文献

Cancer chemoprevention, the prevention of cancer by ingestion of chemical agents that reduce the risk of carcinogenesis, is one of the potent ways to reduce morbidity and mortality. We have been searching for cancer chemopreventive agents from the leaves and barks of coniferous trees that have been treated as waste in the forestry industry. We have previously reported the isolation of spiro‐biflavonoids, named as abiesinols, and a neolignan from the MeOH extract of the bark of Abies sachalinensis. These compounds were tested for their inhibitory effects on the activation of (±)‐(E)‐methyl‐2‐[(E)‐hydroxyimino]‐5‐nitro‐6‐methoxyhex‐3‐enamide (NOR 1), a nitric oxide (NO) donor, as a primary screening test for anti‐tumor initiators. All compounds tested exhibited potent inhibitory effects on NOR 1 activation. Furthermore, abiesinol A, bearing a spiro‐biflavonoid skeleton, showed remarkable anti‐tumor‐initiating activity in the in vivo two‐stage mouse skin carcinogenesis test using peroxynitrite (ONOO?; PN) as the initiator and 12‐O‐tetradecanoylphorbol‐13‐acetate (TPA) as the promoter.  相似文献

Chemical investigation of Selaginella chrysocaulos from Northeast India yielded three new (i.e., 1-3) and two known biflavonoids. From Selaginella bryopteris, collected in the southern part of India, one new (11) and eleven known biflavonoids of the amentoflavone- and hinokiflavone-type were isolated and identified. The structures of the compounds were elucidated by 1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopy, and by mass spectrometry. The absolute configurations of chiral biflavonoids with flavanone subunits (from S. bryopteris) were determined with the aid of circular-dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. Several very rare or even unprecedented substructures in biflavonoids were found.  相似文献

The structures of five biflavonoids, 6"-demethoxyneocalycopterone (1), calyflorenone C (2), 6"-epi-calyflorenone B (3), 6"-epi-calyflorenone C (4) and calyflorenone D (5) from the green parts of Calycopteris floribunda were established by NMR and MS. Their NMR and chiroptical properties (CD, [alpha]20D ) were compared with those of the known C. f. biflavonoids 6-11. Compound 1 represents a calycopterone derivative, 2-5 have a calyflorenone skeleton. With regard to one chiral center (C-6"), 4 and 3 are the respective epimers of 2 and 11.  相似文献

Investigation of the aerial parts of Ouratea sulcata led to the isolation of a biflavonoid named sulcatone A, together with the known compounds, 3-hydroxy-2,3-dihydroapigenyl-[I-4',O,II-3']-dihydrokaempferol, amentoflavone, lophirone A, agathisflavone, stigmasterol and stigmasteryl-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside. The structure of the compound was assigned as apigenyl-[I-4',O,II-3']-dihydrokaempferol, by means of spectroscopic analysis. Sulcatone A and 3-hydroxy-2,3-dihydroapigenyl-[I-4',O,II-3']-dihydrokaempferol exhibited significant in vitro antimicrobial activities against a range of microorganisms.  相似文献

Phytochemical investigation of the roots of O. sennoides subsp. zanzibaricum Brenan & J.B. Gillett resulted in the isolation of three biflavonoids (trime-chamaejasmin, (+)- chamaejasmin, (+)-liquiritigeninyl-(I-3,II-3)-naringenin), one bi-4-phenyldihydrocoumarin (diphysin), one isoflavan (glabridin), one triterpenoid (3-O-acetyloleanoic acid) and a phytosterol (β-sitosterol). Compounds were identified by detailed MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses. Their absolute configurations were elucidated based on ECD spectra. The previously undescribed trime-chamaejasmin represents a bis-epi-chamaejasmenin C diastereomer. The chemophenetic significance is discussed in detail. The results contribute to the phytochemical characterization of the genus Ormocarpum and suggest a close chemophenetic relationship with other genera within the subfamily Papilionoideae. Furthermore, this report provides baseline data for comparing the two infraspecific taxa of O. sennoides (Willd.) DC.  相似文献

Ultraviolet radiation is one of the most deleterious forms of radiation to terrestrial organisms and is involved in formation of mutagenic pyrimidine dimers and oxidized nucleotides. The biflavonoid fraction (BFF), extracted from needles of Araucaria angustifolia was capable of protecting calf thymus DNA from damage induced by UV radiation. This occurred through prevention of cyclobutane thymine dimer and 8-oxo-7,8-dihydro-2′-deoxyguanosine formation, this being quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) in a multiple reaction monitoring mode (MRM) and by HPLC-coulometric detection, respectively.  相似文献
