The goal of the study was to assess the state of immunity in exposed residents of the Techa riverside villages 50 years, or more, after the onset of radiation exposure. 127 chronically exposed persons and 55 unexposed persons were studied. The mean dose to red bone marrow (RBM) was 0.69 Sv in exposed subjects, the mean dose to soft tissue was 0.07 Sv, the mean dose rate amounted to 0.10 Sv/yr to RBM and 0.02 Sv/yr to soft tissues in 1950. The state of the basic links of the immunity system (cellular, humoral, mononuclear phagocyte system, cytokine spectrum, etc.) was assessed using conventional methods. Exposed persons manifested a significant reduction in the absolute counts of CD3+, CD4+, CD 11b+, CD16+ lymphocytes in the peripheral blood, as well as an increase in the relative counts of CD8+. The group comprised of the Techa riverside residents demonstrated an increased immunoregulatory index (exposed individuals: 1.47; controls: 1.71, p = 0.001). An increased production of Immunoglobulin A and increased proportions of CD25+ lymphocytes were revealed in exposed individuals. Changes in the phagocytic activity of neutrophils and monocytes were insignificant, and were primarily associated with changes in the proportions of pagocytes in the peripheral blood stream. The state of the immunity in chronically exposed individuals at late time after the begin of exposure is characterized by a number of specific features reflected primarily on the cellular immunity. No relationship between immunity changes and accumulated exposure dose and dose rate were noted over the period of maximum radiation exposures (1950).  相似文献

A study was made of the neutralizing properties of antisalmonella antibodies belonging to different immunoglobulin classes in respect to specific O-antigen (Lipopolysaccharide S. anatum) and haptens of salmonellae. In comparison with IgM-antibodies, IgG-antibodies were more stable bound not only with the univalent trisaccharide determinant, but also with the polysaccharide. However, in regard to the lipopolysaccharide complex the neutralizing activity of IgM- and IgG-antibodies was about the same; IgA-antibodies possessed the greatest neutralizing activity with respect to all the antigenic preparations used. The minimal neutralizing dose of the antigen and haptens increased with the reduction of the size of their molecule. A marked heterogeneity of antibodies of each of the immunoglobulin classes by their antigen-neutralizing properties was revealed in individual sera.  相似文献

A comparative estimation of IgG-binding activity of 85 S. aureus clinical strains was carried out by the method of indirect hemagglutination reaction. The S. aureus strain selected as a result of screening was found to exceed by more than an order the Cowan I strain obtained from the L. A. Tarasevich State Institute of Standards and Control of the Medical Biological Drugs in the IgG-binding activity. It was established that the ratio of two types of IgG-binding sites located on the S. aureus surface, varied depending on the strain, composition and quality (liquid or solid) of the culture medium.  相似文献

A potentiometric procedure for assay of rifampicin was developed. The procedure implies titration of rifampicin as a monofunctional acid by sodium hydroxide solution (0.1 mol/l) in 75 per cent aqueous methanol. The constant ionic strength of the solution is provided by addition of KCl until its concentration is 0.1 mol/l, the titrant concentration being 10 times higher than the antibiotic concentration in the solution. This provides a precise determination of the concentration ionization constant of the antibiotic as a monofunctional acid (pKa 7.33 +/- 0.01) and an insignificant dilution of the antibiotic solution during the titration promoting precise and reproducible results. The procedure error is 0.20 per cent. The variation coefficient is 0.27 per cent.  相似文献

Major economic transitions typically entail changes in the availability of and purchasing power for different types of foods leading to long-term changes in the composition of the diet. Bulgaria, a former Eastern Bloc country, underwent a difficult and protracted transition from a centralized to market economy with acute economic crises and a much slower recovery of income levels than in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. Using annual data from the Bulgarian National Household Survey, we study changes in the reported consumption of major foods (excluding alcoholic drinks) and their constituent macronutrients from 1985 to 2002, examining also the differences in dietary patterns between the period prior to and following the transition. The consumption of most major food items decreased, resulting in a fall in per capita energy consumption of 429 kcal/day (1.80 MJ/d), following the economic transition of 1991. As expected, the consumption of foods that were more expensive per unit of energy decreased greater than cheaper foods, -34% for animal products and -19% for visible fats, but only -10% for carbohydrates. These changes are related to the changes in income and market prices as well as the general negative trend in economic growth and hyperinflation in the mid-1990s. Thus, Bulgaria experienced a decrease in food consumption without significant changes in the dietary pattern following the economic transition of 1991. The fact that part of this decline may be attributed to continued economic challenges suggests that future transitions in the diet may be expected as economic development proceeds.  相似文献
