Summary Bicarbonate-stimulated Mg2+ dependent ATPase activity was demonstrated both biochemically and cytochemically, in brush border membranes from rat, rabbit and guinea pig duodenum. There was no correlation between enzyme activity and basal HCO

necessary for optimal stimulation of ATPase activity, degree of stimulation and total activity was higher in the rat than in other species. Activity was higher in rat duodenum than in the ileum. This is consistent with the proposed electrogenic HCO

Serum concentrations of sex hormone binding globulin, transcortin, thyroxine binding globulin, transthyretin together with retinol binding protein, ceruloplasmin, transferrin and albumin were measured sequentially in pregnant women in order to derive more definite suppositions relating to the prime function of hormone binding proteins. Thus, the fact that except for transthyretin all other specific hormone binding proteins exhibited appreciable but significantly variable increases would suggest: a) the apparent existence of more complex mechanisms regulating protein metabolism during pregnancy than hitherto postulated (i.e. the general notion of an integrated estrogen influence); b) a major and distinctive role for each of the hormone binding proteins is plausible since alterations in hormonal requirements by the fetus as pregnancy progresses can not be provided by the almost constant transplacental transfer rate of the "free" hormone moiety. 相似文献

Natural killer (NK) cells have significant capability in tumor immune-surveillance. The ability of lyse transformed cells immediately in an antigen-independent manner make them an attractive candidate for cancer cell therapy. Despite employment of NK cells in cancer immunotherapy, clinical trials are faced with serious limitations such as trouble with the penetration of NK cells in tumor sites, limited in vivo persistence, and tumor microenvironment interference. Taken together, the NK-cell cancer therapy is still infant scenario that has a long way to be translated in clinic. Current article first reviews characteristic features of NK lymphocytes. Then, it discusses about important disruptive barriers and motivator in the developmental stages of NK cells like as tumor microenvironment. 3-Hydroxybutyrate, one of the main blood ketone bodies, has been considered as a critical indicator for diagnosis of diabetic ketoacidosis. Biosensors designed for detection of 3-hydroxybutyrate with advantages of precision, easiness and speedy performance have attracted increasing attention. This study attempted to develop a 3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase-based biosensor in which single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) was used in order to immobilize the cofactor, NAD+, on the surface of screen-printed electrode. The formation of NAD+–SWCNT conjugates was assessed by electrochemistry and electron microscopy. Cyclic voltammetry was used to analyze the performance of this biosensor electrochemically. The considerable shelf life and reliability of the proposed biosensor to analyze real sample was confirmed by this method. The reduction in the over potential of electrochemical oxidation of NADH to ?0.15 V can be mentioned as a prominent feature of this biosensor. This biosensor can detect 3-hydroxybutyrate in the linear range of 0.01–0.1 mM with the low detection limit of 0.009 mM. Simultaneous application of screen-printed electrode and SWCNT has made the biosensor distinguished which can open new prospects for detection of other clinically significant metabolites. 相似文献
