A New Species of the Genus <Emphasis Type="Italic">Placoblatta</Emphasis> Bey-Bienko (Dictyoptera,Blaberidae, Epilamprinae) from Southern Vietnam

A new species of the genus Placoblatta, P. minorsp. n., is described from Southern Vietnam. The similarity between representatives of the genus Placoblatta and larvae of the subfamily Epilamprinae is briefly discussed. It is suggested that the origin of the genus Placoblatta has a paedomorph nature.     

New cockroaches from the Upper Carboniferous of Siberia (Insecta: Dictyoptera,Mylacridina)

Cockroaches (Dictyoptera, Mylacridina) from the Chunya locality (Upper Carboniferous of the Central Siberian Plateau) are considered. New representatives of the family Phyloblattidae Schneider, 1983 (Phyloblatta majuscula sp. nov., P. chunyensis sp. nov., Hesperoblatta vishniakovae sp. nov., and H. secunda sp. nov.) are described.     

Update on the praying mantises (Insecta: Mantodea) of South-East Vietnam

A report of Mantodea species collected in South-East Vietnam (provinces Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc and Lam Dong) is presented. New for Vietnam are the subfamily Phyllothelyinae, the tribe Anaxarchini of the subfamily Hymenopodinae and the species Leptomantella lactea (Saussure, 1870), Tropidomantis gressitti Tinkham, 1937, Amantis bolivari Giglio-Tos, 1915, Anaxarcha graminea Stål, 1877, Creobroter nebulosa Zheng, 1988, Phyllothelys breve (Wang, 1993), Ceratocrania macra Westwood, 1889, Ceratomantis saussuri Wood-Mason, 1876 and Theopompa tosta Stål, 1877, as well as five additional species whose precise identifications are less certain. Eighteen species are new for the South-East region and seven are new for the provinces sampled. The fauna of Vietnam now contains 69 species of Mantodea, 40 of which occur in the South-East region. Morphological, taxonomical and identification details for selected species are discussed and illustrated.     

New representatives of the genus <Emphasis Type="Italic">Nahublattella</Emphasis> Bruijning, 1959 (Dictyoptera,Blattellidae) from Central and South America

The following nine new species of the genus Nahublattella Bruijning, 1959 are described from Ecuador and Mexico: N. cuyabeno sp. n., N. alexandri sp. n., N. incurvata sp. n., N. maya sp. n., N. plena sp. n., N. bispina sp. n., N. ultima sp. n., N. beikoi sp. n., and N. reticulata sp. n. The structure of the male genitalia of the new species is described in detail. The genus diagnosis is discussed.     

A new genus and species of the cockroach family Blattulidae from Lebanese amber (Dictyoptera,Blattina)

A new genus and species of the cockroach family Blattulidae, Ocelloblattula ponomarenkoi gen. et sp. nov., are described from the Early Cretaceous Lebanese amber. In the wing venation, the new genus is extremely similar to the Jurassic genus Blattula Handlirsch, differing from the latter in a number of characters in its body structure. This find reveals much about the body structure of the extinct family Blattulidae, which is related to ancestors of the suborders Mantina and Blattina.     

New data on the genus <Emphasis Type="Italic">Neostylopyga</Emphasis> Shelford, 1911 (Dictyoptera,Blattidae) with description of a new species from Laos

A new species of the genus Neostylopyga Shelford, 1911, N. laosana sp. n., is described from Laos, and the male genitalia are examined in detail. The type species of the genus Neostylopyga, N. rhombifolia (Stoll, 1813), is redescribed, and the taxonomic position of the genus is discussed.
