Arginine, agmatine, putrescine and spermidine were found in the apical parts and leaves of chayote ( Sechium edule Swartz ) at various stages of development. The concentration of agmatine, the immediate decarboxylation product of L-arginine, increased considerably in young leaves at the first emergence of floral buds. Young leaves always had a relatively higher content of agmatine than older ones. There was a decrease in the concentration of agmatine from the apical part to the basal leaves. Agmatine was the predominant amine in young leaves at every stage of development (50–90% of the whole amine pool). It was also predominant in mature leaves when the floral buds appeared (70% of the total amine content). An accumulation of agmatine could not be found in other Cucurbitaceae species. 相似文献

This work investigates the impact of structural parameters on the rheological behaviour of apple purees. Reconstructed apple purees from 0 g/100 g up to 2.32 g/100 g of insoluble solids content and varying in particle size were prepared. Three different particle size distributions were obtained by mechanical treatment only, to modify both size and morphology of the particles without modifying the intrinsic rigidity of the cell walls. Rheological measurements showed that the insoluble solids content have a first order effect on the rheological behaviour of the suspensions: three concentrations domains were observed in both dynamic and flow measurements. A model is proposed for each domain. The existence of a weak network between particles is clearly shown over a critical concentration of insoluble solids (cell walls) depending on particle size distribution (semi-diluted domain). In a concentrated domain, particles are on close packing conditions and their apparent volume begin to shrink. Particle size and shape also play an important role on the rheological behaviour of reconstructed apple puree. The effect of different preparations of growth hormone (GH) was assayed with 17 beta-estradiol on vitellogenesis in hypophysectomized or normal female silver eels. Vitellogenin (Vg) plasma levels were taken as the index of hepatic vitellogenesis. The E2 doses were chosen to give the same pattern for the plasma Vg level as in the controls. They decreased or remained undetectable in hypophysectomized or normal animals. GH also failed to induce alone a significant modification. When E2 was injected together with a GH, plasma Vg levels were 5.13 +/- 1.30 times higher with salmon GH in hypophysectomized eels and 2.01 +/- 0.25 times higher with bovine GH in normal eels. GH is shown to enhance the effects of E2 on hepatic vitellogenesis induction in a teleost. 相似文献
