In this paper the recent population changes of the Wild Boar in different European countries is analysed through the study of hunting statistics. A simultaneous increase in numbers is observed throughout the whole area during the period 1965–1975. From 1975 onwards the population stabilizes itself apart from in peripheral areas like Finland. Potentially favourable factors which play a part in this process are discussed and certain reproductive and dispersive characteristics which favour its invasive behaviour are discussed.  相似文献

Spontaneous unit activity and changes in its statistical parameters during electrical stimulation of the palms at 25 or 50/min were studied in four monkeys under chronic experimental conditions. Altogether 337 recordings of the activity of 64 neurons for durations of 2 and 3 min were studied. The mean firing rate was relatively low (5.7 spikes/sec). As a rule the unit activity remained stable for several tens of minutes. It could change spontaneously to new patterns and again remain stationary. These transitions took place during recording of spontaneous activity and also during stimulation of the animal, but they were independent of it. Interspike interval histograms were varied and most were polymodal. Their pattern changed with changes in the firing rate of the neurons. The position of the modes along the time axis and the type of distribution were the most conservative characteristics of the histograms. The probability of appearance of intervals was highest at 30, 60, 90, and 210–240 msec. The presence of stable intervals with increased probability of appearance may be the result of the existence of chains of neurons in the caudate nucleus with fixed temporal parameters.  相似文献

Potentials evoked in nuclei of the reticular formation by electrodermal stimulation of the limbs were investigated in acute experiments on unanesthetized, immobilized rats during cooling of the somatosensory cortex in the area of representation of one forelimb. Evoked potentials in the reticular formation were found to depend on the degree of cold inhibition of the cortical primary response to the same stimulation. The peak time of the main negative wave increased from 40–50 to 60–80 msec with a simultaneous decrease in its amplitude or its total disappearance in the case of deep cooling of the cortex. Cooling of the cortex had a similar although weaker effect on the earlier wave of the evoked potential with a peak time of 14 msec, recorded in the ventral reticular nucleus. In parallel recordings of potentials evoked by stimulation of other limbs they remained unchanged at these same points of the reticular formation or were reduced in amplitude while preserving the same temporal parameters. Cooling of the cortex thus selectively delays the development and reduces the amplitude of the response to stimulation of the limb in whose area of representation transformation of the afferent signal into a corticofugal volley is blocked. Consequently the normal development of both late and early components of the potential evoked in the reticular formation by somatic stimulation requires an additional volley, descending from the cortex, and formed as a result of transformation of the same afferent signal in the corresponding point of the somatosensory cortex.I. We studied the delayed effects of prenatal exposure to hypoxia on the susceptibility of rats to seizures. The later was estimated using graded electroshock. The experiments were performed in two groups of 1.5-year-old male Wistar rats. The experimental group consisted of the animals that were exposed to hypoxia on day 14 of prenatal development, and the control group consisted of the animals that developed under the normal conditions. In the rats subjected to prenatal hypoxia, seizure episodes induced by weak currents in the range of 10–40 mA and their average duration were more pronounced as compared to the control animals.  相似文献

Chromosome numbers were counted for 23 species of Crotalaria native to Brazil. Among these data there were new counts for 15 taxa, and some confirmed previous reports or represented numbers that were different from those cited previously. The chromosome numbers most frequently found were 2 n  = 16 and 2 n  = 32. Only C. incana L. had 2 n  = 14 and C. tweediana Benth. had 2 n  = 54. The counts 2 n  = 32 and 54 were found in species of section Calycinae and 2 n  = 16 and 14 in species of section Chrysocalycinae . The data revealed the importance of chromosomal parameters in the characterization of sections Calycinae and Chrysocalycinae in Brazil. A total of 44 accessions of Brachiaria decumbens were analysed for chromosome count and meiotic behaviour in order to identify potential progenitors for crosses. Among them, 15 accessions presented 2n = 18; 27 accessions, 2n = 36; and 2 accessions, 2n = 45 chromosomes. Among the diploid accessions, the rate of meiotic abnormalities was low, ranging from 0.82% to 7.93%. In the 27 tetraploid accessions, the rate of meiotic abnormalities ranged from 18.41% to 65.83%. The most common meiotic abnormalities were related to irregular chromosome segregation, but chromosome stickiness and abnormal cytokinesis were observed in low frequency. All abnormalities can compromise pollen viability by generating unbalanced gametes. Based on the chromosome number and meiotic stability, the present study indicates the apomictic tetraploid accessions that can act as male genitor to produce interspecific hybrids with B. ruziziensis or intraspecific hybrids with recently artificially tetraploidized accessions.  相似文献
