Aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG) applied as a droplet (3 l, 0.1 mM) to the plumule of seedlings of both the short-day plantChenopodium rubrum and the long-day plantChenopodium murale counteracted to a great extent or even canceled the inhibition of flowering due to exogenous indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). This effect was more pronounced with the two substances administered simultaneously than with later application of AVG alone. AVG by itself in some cases promoted the percentage of flowering in bothChenopodium species. Application of IAA to the shoot apex was shown to elevate ethylene production in both species, whereas application of AVG alone was shown to suppress it. Thus, ethylene may be considered an active agent of flowering inhibition brought about by IAA application. 相似文献

Summary A clone containing a -derived cytoplasmic replicon (a dv-like plasmid) was obtained through thermal selection of a heat-inducible int6 cI857 lysogen. It still contains the original integrated prophage. Such a system can exist in two distinct regulatory phases, E1 and E2, differing both in the gene expression and the genome arrangement. In the E1 phase the expression of gene N is blocked and the plasmid is a heptamer of the fundamental unit 1.26×106 daltons, whereas in E2 phase the N gene is active and the main plasmid component is a tetramer of the same fundamental unit. Reversible transitions between E1 and E2 phases and the reestablishment of the original immune phenotype PA (parental type) accompanied by the loss of the cytoplasmic component of the genome take at relatively high frequencies depending on the growth and storage conditions. 相似文献

Summary
B. subtilis A 18, a producer of exocellular amylase, was found to carry covalently closed DNA plasmid molecules (pMI 10). The pMI 10 was isolated and characterized by electron microscopy, electrophoretic mobility and restriction endonuclease cleavage pattern. The pMI 10 was absent in all -amylase low productive or nonproductive clones. The pMI 10 DNA was transformed together with pUB 110 DNA into B. subtilis RM 125 arg-leu- recipient cells, and, hence, compatibility of these plasmids could be demonstrated. 相似文献
