The present paper studies the effects of sublethal concentrations of two neurotoxic insecticides (diazinon and endosulfan, duration of exposure 48 h) on the taste attractiveness of L-histidine (0.1 M), L-cysteine (0.1 M), and L-asparagine acid (0.01 M) for juvenile Persian sturgeon Acipenser persicus. The study revealed different effects of diazinon and endosulfan on the extraoral and intraoral taste reception in fish. The taste responses determined by the extraoral taste system (frequency of grasping of 50 food pellets for 5 min of trial) following exposure to endosulfan are the same as in the intact specimens. The exposure to diazinon leads to two to fourfold increase in the number of grasping the pellets, while the amino acids become tasteattractive as opposed to the intact specimens. Both insecticides affect the taste responses controlled by the intraoral taste reception. The insecticide-related pathology is expressed either as a sharp (tens of times) decrease in the absolute and relative consumption of all types of pellets or as full rejection of the pellets after their grasping. Furthermore, the intraoral taste properties of amino acids remain the same as in the intact fish.  相似文献

α-Tubulin acetylation at Lys-40, located on the luminal side of microtubules, has been widely studied and used as a marker for stable microtubules in the cilia and other subcellular structures, but the functional consequences remain perplexing. Recent studies have shown that Mec-17 and its paralog are responsible for α-tubulin acetylation in Caenorhabditis elegans. There is one such protein known as Atat1 (α-tubulin acetyltransferase 1) per higher organism. Zebrafish Atat1 appears to govern embryo development, raising the intriguing possibility that Atat1 is also critical for development in mammals. In addition to Atat1, three other mammalian acetyltransferases, ARD1-NAT1, ELP3, and GCN5, have been shown to acetylate α-tubulin in vitro, so an important question is how these four enzymes contribute to the acetylation in vivo. We demonstrate here that Atat1 is a major α-tubulin acetyltransferase in mice. It is widely expressed in mouse embryos and tissues. Although Atat1-null animals display no overt phenotypes, α-tubulin acetylation is lost in sperm flagella and the dentate gyrus is slightly deformed. Furthermore, human ATAT1 colocalizes on bundled microtubules with doublecortin. These results thus suggest that mouse Atat1 may regulate advanced functions such as learning and memory, thereby shedding novel light on the physiological roles of α-tubulin acetylation in mammals.  相似文献

Wastewater that enters wastewater treatment plants contains lots of pathogenic and nonpathogenic microorganisms which can become bioaerosols during treatment processes and pose health hazard to workers and nearby residents. The emission of the bioaerosols from an urban wastewater treatment plant in spring and summer in different locations and downwind of the plant adopting an extended mechanical aeration system was investigated. Samples of bacteria and fungi were collected within 6 months at 10 selected points by an Anderson one-stage impactor. The highest concentration of bacteria (mean 1373 CFU/m3, 741–2817 CFU/m3) and fungi (mean 1384 CFU/m3, 212–1610 CFU/m3) was found in downwind of the aeration basins. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between concentration of bacterial bioaerosols at downwind side of the aeration basins and wind speed (p value <0.05) and temperature (p value <0.05). Also, in the spring and summer, between the number of bacteria and fungi inside the plant and outside the plant (downwind) a significant correlation was observed (p value ≤0.05). The concentrations of bacteria at a distance of 500 m downwind were much higher than those at the background (upwind) point in spring and summer. The processes of wastewater treatment especially using mechanical equipment to create turbulence can be considered as a major source of spreading airborne microorganisms to ambient air of wastewater treatment plants, and the bioaerosols can be dispersed to downwind distances affecting the nearby neighboring. Therefore, in order to decrease the bioaerosols emission, doing some course of actions such as covering the surface of aeration basins, changing the aeration methods and aeration equipment (e. g using diffuser aerator) may be effective.  相似文献

This study presents a novel, sensitive and selective molecularly imprinted solid‐phase extraction (MISPE)–spectrofluorimetric method for the removal and determination of atenolol from human urine. Molecularly imprinted and non‐imprinted polymers were synthesized thermally using a radical chain polymerization technique and used as solid‐phase extraction sorbents. Acrylic acid ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, dibenzoyl peroxide and dichloroethane were used as a functional monomer, cross‐linker, initiator and porogen, respectively. The calibration curve was in the range of 0.10–2.0 μg/ml for the developed method. Limit of detection and limit of quantification values were 0.032 and 0.099 μg/ml, respectively. Owing to the selectivity of the MISPE technique and the sensitivity of spectrofluorimetry, trace levels of atenolol have been successfully determined from both organic and aqueous media. Relatively high imprinting factor (4.18) and recovery results (74.5–75.3%) were obtained. In addition, intra‐ and interday precision values were 0.38–1.03% and 0.47–2.05%, respectively, proving the precision of the proposed method. Thus, a selective, sensitive and simple MISPE–spectrofluorimetric method has been developed and applied to the direct determination of atenolol from human urine.  相似文献
