The present work was conducted to elucidate the effect of soil type, salinity stress and allelochemicals from alfalfa on the germination efficiency, seedling growth and photosynthetic pigments of Medicago sativa L. The highest germination rate (69.9%) was recorded for seeds cultivated in sandy soil followed by that of clay soil (42%) and then loamy soil (19%). The maximum germination rate was attained at 50 mM NaCl concentration level, after that the values were decreased as the salinity levels increased. The maximum lengths (cm) of plumule and radicle and their growth rates (cm/day) were obtained at control level and found to decline significantly as the salinity increased. Aqueous extracts of alfalfa reduced the germination rate, radicle and plumule growth and seedling dry weight of L. sativum. However, chlorophyll and carotenoid content was increased, their maxima were recorded at 50% concentration level. The chlorophyll a/b ratio attained its maximum at the full strength concentration level.  相似文献

SYNOPSIS. Macrogamonts in tissues from rabbits killed 5 1/2 days after inoculation with Eimeria magna oocysts were studied with the electron microscope. In young macrogamonts, parts of cytoplasm, sometimes including micronemes, were pinched off into the parasitophorous vacuole. In all stages of development, small segments of the inner membrane complex were present beneath the limiting membrane. Micropores also were seen in all stages, and some apparently functional ones were present in mature macrogametes. Wall-forming bodies of Type I and Type II were observed in relatively early stages. The former were less numerous than the latter, which had a more compact appearance than in other species. Usually, several Golgi complexes were present and several Golgi adjuncts occurred in the vicinity of the nucleus in all stages of development. Microgametes were observed in the cytoplasm of host cells harboring immature macrogametes.  相似文献

The Asian tiger mosquito Stegomyia albopicta (= Aedes albopictus) (Diptera: Culicidae), native to Asian forests, is a nuisance mosquito and is responsible for the transmission of arboviruses of public health importance, such as dengue, chikungunya and Zika viruses. It has colonized parts of all continents, except Antarctica, over the past 30–40 years. However, to date, the only records of S. albopicta in North Africa refer to occasional collections in 2010 and 2014 in Algeria. In early September 2015, S. albopicta larvae and adults were collected in a district of Rabat, Morocco. Morphological identification was confirmed by molecular analysis. This is the first record of this invasive mosquito in Morocco. A national surveillance programme will be implemented in 2016 to establish its geographical distribution in Morocco and to instigate control measures to prevent the establishment of new populations and the transmission of arboviruses.  相似文献

Abstract.  In the province of Al Hoceima, northern Morocco, and on two farms in Hungary, dogs were inspected for the presence of traumatic myiasis. Nine and four infested dogs were found in Morocco and Hungary, respectively. All the larvae and adults reared from them in the laboratory were identified as Wohlfahrtia magnifica (Schiner) (Diptera: Sarcophagidae). To our knowledge, these are the first cases of wohlfahrtiosis in dogs to be reported in these countries. All infested animals lived close to livestock, where wohlfahrtiosis was endemic. Infested body sites included limbs (six cases), external genitalia (two), ears (three), nose (one) and neck (one). Developing larvae caused severe welfare problems and tissue destruction in most cases. Although the number of cases reported here is small, wohlfahrtiosis in dogs may be very important from an epidemiological perspective because farm and stray dogs can act as both reservoirs and carriers of this parasitic fly species. Therefore, education of dog owners concerning the risk factors in endemic regions is recommended in order to reduce the prevalence of wohlfahrtiosis in dogs and thereby in livestock. Both owners and veterinarians should pay regular attention to any wounds and to the natural orifices of dogs, especially during the fly seasons.  相似文献
