Native and moistened canna starches (moisture contents of 15%, 18%, 20%, 22%, and 25%) were heat treated at 100 °C for 16 h. Heat-moisture treatment (HMT) did not alter the shape or size of starch granules. Heat-treated starches showed lower paste viscosity, more stable paste (with no breakdown) and noticeable decrease in setback value compared to untreated native starch. These changes were more obvious when the starch samples contained more moisture. Starch gel morphology investigated by I2 staining revealed that the granules of untreated native canna starch were completely ruptured, whereas those of HMT22% and HMT25% samples remained in granular form. These gel morphologies were correlated and provided the information to explain the pasting behaviors of treated and untreated canna starches. Shifts of gelatinization endotherms towards higher temperatures (1–8 °C) with broadened peaks following the moisture contents in starch samples were found after HMT. Amylose leaching of treated samples tended to be lower when the moisture content of the samples increased. HMT did not alter crystalline type of canna starch (B-type), but with increase of the moisture, slight reduction of a peak at 5.7° and a fusion of doublet at 22° and 24° were observed.  相似文献

(NH4)2SO4 fractionation followed by Sephadex G-200 chromatography of sugar cane juice gave an acid invertase with MW of 380 000 and 23.5% carbohydrate and a neutral invertase with MW of 66 000 and 22% carbohydrate. For acid invertase, Km is 2.8 mM and Vmax is 2.7 μmol sucrose hydrolysed/hr/mg protein. For neutral invertase, Km and Vmax are 0.32 mM and 2.8 μmol hydrolysed/hr/mg protein, respectively. Inhibition of both invertases by either lauryl sulfate or metasilicate is not competitive.  相似文献

Chemical investigation of naturally occurring plant growth inhibitors from Rutaceous plants in Thailand led us to identify five 7-methoxycoumarins and one 5,7-dimethoxycoumarin from Murraya paniculata, and six furanocoumarins from Citrus aurantifolia. Of these compounds, murranganon senecioate (1) is a new natural compound found in M. paniculata. Minumicrolin (6) was found to be highly active against the 2nd leaf sheath elongation of rice seedlings.  相似文献

The occurrence of two alkaloids, 16,17-didehydro-16(E)-stemofoline and its isomer at C-4, 16,17-didehydro-4(E)-16(E)-stemofoline, were found together with a known insecticidal compound, stemofoline, in Stemona collinsae. The 16,17-didehydro-16(E)-stemofoline displayed higher insecticidal and antifeedant activities against the diamondback moth larvae than stemofoline.  相似文献

Seven quassinoids including a new 12-epi-11-dehydroklaineanone were isolated from the leaves of Eurycoma longifolia (Simaroubaceae) as plant growth inhibitors or related compounds. The strongest activity was found in 14,15beta-dihydroxyklaineanone.  相似文献
