Late blight of potato is considered to be the most devastating problem causing severe yield losses in potato worldwide. Among the different management strategies, the use of resistant cultivars is the most viable option, but the non‐availability of enough quantity of quality seed materials of resistant cultivars forces the farmers to grow susceptible cultivars with proper fungicide scheduling. Therefore, in the present study, chemical control using fungicide has been attempted with newer molecules in the susceptible cultivar along with a resistant cultivar as a positive control. All the tested fungicides were found safe, and no phytotoxicity was observed with any chemical at the applied rate. In resistant cultivar, no late blight was appeared in both the years, whereas maximum AUDPC was observed in the untreated control (276.3) and minimum (41.7) in mancozeb‐cymoxanil + mancozeb based scheduling which was found on par with chlorothalonil‐famoxadone + cymoxanil (51.3) and chlorothalonil‐ametoctradin + dimethomorph (53.5) based scheduling. Among the treatments, resistant cultivar, Kufri Girdhari followed by chlorothalonil‐ametoctradin + dimethomorph and mancozeb‐cymoxanil + mancozeb based fungicidal scheduling were proven as the best treatments for both the crop seasons resulting in the highest yield parameters. The disease severity showed a strong negative correlation with the tuber yield of potatoes in both the years. Based on overall observations including BC ratio, it can be concluded that, wherever seed material of resistant cultivar is available farmers should grow the same or else with susceptible cultivars the fungicidal scheduling based on mancozeb‐cymoxanil + mancozeb or chlorothalonil‐ametoctradin + dimethomorph can be followed to obtain the maximum returns with effective management of late blight at the southern hills of India.  相似文献

Plastoglobules (PG) are lipid droplets in chloroplasts and other plastid types having important functions in lipid metabolism. Plastoglobulins (PGL) also known as fibrillins (FBN) are evolutionary conserved proteins present at the PG surface but also to various extents at the thylakoid membrane. PGLs are thought to have structural functions in PG formation and maintenance. The targeting of an Arabidopsis PGL (PGL34) to PG required the full protein sequence with the exception of a short C-terminal stretch. This indicated that PGL targeting relies on correct folding rather than a discrete sequence. PGLs lack strongly hydrophic regions and may therefore extrinsically associate with PG and thylakoid membranes via interaction with hydrophilic headgroups of surface lipids. Here, we report on the expression of the Arabidopsis plastoglobulin of 35kD (PGL35 or FBN1a) expressed as a mature protein fused to HIVp24 (human immunodeficiency virus capsid particle p24) or HCV (hepatitis C virus core protein) in transplastomic tobacco. A PGL35–HIVp24 fusion targeted in part to plastoglobules but a larger proportion was recovered in the thylakoid fraction. The findings indicate that transplastomic PGL35–HIVp24 folded correctly after its synthesis inside the chloroplast and then dually targeted to plastoglobules as well as thylakoid membranes.  相似文献

Considering the industrial interest of Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB), bacteria isolated from the various marine arenas were screened for their ability to accumulate PHB and were compared with Wausteria eutropha (MTCC-1285). Among the 42 isolates, four strains showed the accumulation of PHB. The maximum PHB producer Vibrio sp. (MK4) was further studied in detail. To increase the productivity, steps were taken to evaluate the effect of carbon sources, nitrogen sources, pH and sodium chloride concentration on PHB productivity by MK4. The optimized conditions were further used for the batch fermentation over a period of 72 h. Significantly higher maximum biomass of 9.1 g/L with a PHB content of 4.223 g/L was obtained in a laboratory-scale bioreactor at 64 h, thus giving a productivity of 0.065 g/L/h. The extracted polymer was compared with the authentic PHB and was confirmed to be PHB using FTIR analysis and 1H NMR analysis. Thus, the study highlights the potential of the use of Vibrio sp (MK4) in the commercial production of PHB.  相似文献

The impact of replacing the chloroplast agglutination test with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was studied on the health status and productivity of different stages of nucleus seed potato. The study revealed that introduction of ELISA in place of chloroplast agglutination test of Stage I plants resulted in a significant improvement of the overall health status of nucleus seed potatoes. After the replacement, health standards during ELISA of indexed tubers (for next year planting) improved from 80.3 to 95.9%, whereas, some improvement in the health status of Stage II clones (99.5–99.9%) was also noticed. Following ELISA, per cent incidence of mosaics during field roguings in Stages I, II and III was also reduced from 1.74, 0.92 and 0.39% to 1.55, 0.67 and 0.29%, respectively and the corresponding increase in yield were 1.3, 11.0 and 7.0%, respectively.  相似文献
