Antidromic discharges and spontaneous activity of single sympathetic preganglionic neurons in the lateral horns of the second lumbar segment of the spinal cord were recorded extracellularly in cats anesthetized with a mixture of chloralose and pentobarbital. A new technique used to identify antidromic discharges of sympathetic preganglionic neurons is described and the characteristics of discharges and sites where they were recorded are investigated. Changes in the frequency of spontaneous discharges of most neurons were shown to be connected with different types of fluctuation of the arterial pressure. Components of the early somato-sympathetic reflex arising in the white rami communicantes of segments L1–L3 in response to stimulation of the corresponding somatic segmental nerves were studied in anesthetized cats. The shortest-latency component of this reflex was investigated in detail and evidence of its monosynaptic nature obtained. Calculations showed that the efferent part of this component may be formed by axons with conduction velocities of about 10 m/sec or more. Antidromic focal potentials and discharges arising during stimulation of the white rami communicantes with a latent period corresponding to the calculated values were recorded in a circumscribed zone of the ventral horn. Neurons whose orthodromic activation may lead to the appearance of the short-latency component of the early somato-sympathetic reflex are considered to be located in this region.  相似文献

Experiments on anesthetized and immobilized cats showed that repeated antidromic discharges can be evoked in 32.5% of sympathetic preganglionic neurons of the lateral horns in segments T3, T8–9, and L2 of the spinal cord, with intervals of 16 msec or more between them, which is much greater than the refractory period of these neurons. This feature was shown not to be connected with the properties of axons of that group of neurons and, in particular, with their after-subnormality. After orthodromic discharges in neurons of this group, for a much longer period of time than could be accounted for by possible collision, no antidromic discharges likewise were evoked. As a result of antidromic activation of some of these neurons in one segment, definite inhibition of the orthodromic response of other neurons of the same segment appeared, etiher by a reflex mechanism or through stimulation of descending pathways. The results point definitely to the existence of a mechanism of recurrent inhibition in some sympathetic preganglionic neurons of the lateral horns.I. P. The possibility of using the relative intensities of the 1snp 1P1–1s 2 1S0 transitions with n = 3–6 in He-like multicharged ions to diagnose plasma in a nonstationary ionization state is considered. The calculations performed for F VIII ions show that, at electron temperatures of T e = 10–100 eV, the intensity ratios are sensitive to the plasma electron density in the range of N e = 1016–1020 cm–3. The universal calculated dependences can be used to diagnose various kinds of recombining or ionizing plasmas containing such ions.  相似文献

The results of the last (in the thermonuclear program “Magnetic compression”) MAGO-IX experiment with a plasma chamber including a third compartment designed to compress plasma with a converging liner are presented. An X-ray pulse consisting of an intense peak of 1-μs duration, followed by a low-intensity tail with a duration of more than 10 μs, was recorded. In the MAGO-IX experiment, the neutrons were generated mainly in the third compartment. A neutron yield of 2 × 1012 was obtained. The results demonstrate that the expected compression of preheated plasma in chambers similar to MAGO-IX is promising for achieving thermonuclear ignition.  相似文献

Results are presented from experimental studies of a pulsed source of soft X-ray (SXR) emission with photon energies in the range of 0.4–1 keV and an output energy of 2–10 kJ. SXR pulses with a duration of 10–15 μs were generated in collisions of two plasma flows propagating toward one another in a longitudinal magnetic field. The plasma flows with velocities of (2–4) × 107 cm/s and energy contents of 70–100 kJ were produced by two electrodynamic coaxial accelerators with pulsed gas injection. Nitrogen and neon, as well as their mixtures with deuterium, were used as working gases. The diagnostic equipment is described, and the experimental results obtained under different operating conditions are discussed. In particular, X-ray spectroscopy was used to study the high-temperature plasma produced in a collision of two plasma flows. The observed intensities of spectral lines are compared with the results of detailed kinetic calculations performed in a steady-state approximation. The calculations of the nitrogen and neon kinetics have shown that the electron temperature of a nitrogen plasma can be most conveniently determined from the intensity ratio of the resonance lines of He- and H-like nitrogen ions, while that of a neon plasma, from the intensity ratio between the resonance line of He-like Ne IX ions and the 3p?2s line of Li-like Ne VIII ions. In the experiments with plasma flows containing nitrogen ions, the electron temperature was found to be ≈120 eV, whereas in the experiments with plasma flows containing neon ions, it was 160–170 eV.  相似文献

The second and third components of the somato-sympathetic reflex discharge in the lumbar white rami were investigated in anesthetized cats. Both components, under different experimental conditions, may undergo changes that are: parallel, not parallel, or actually opposite in direction to those in components of the propriospinal wave of the somato-somatic reflex. This suggests that the interneuronal apparatus of both types of reflexes may include common and separate components. It is postulated that the separate components of the somato-sympathetic reflex may be formed by discharges of sympathetic preganglionic neurons whose axons conduct at different velocities. On the basis of calculations of the central delay time it is concluded that the second component is formed by discharges of lateral horn neurons and the third component by neurons with axons conducting excitation at less than 1.5 m/sec, found in the lateral part of the intermediate zone.  相似文献

X-ray diagnostics of the interaction of femtosecond laser pulses with intensities of 1016–1018 W/cm2 with CO2 clusters and frozen nanosize water particles is carried out. The stage of cluster expansion and the formation of a plasma channel, which governs the parameters of the formed X-ray radiation source and accelerated ion flows, is studied. The measurements are based on recording spatially resolved X-ray spectra of H- and He-like oxygen ions. Utilization of Rydberg transitions for spectra diagnostics makes it possible to determine plasma parameters on a time scale of t ∼ 10 ps after the beginning of a femtosecond pulse. The role of the rear edge of the laser pulse in sustaining the plasma temperature at a level of ∼100 eV in the stage of a nonadiabatic cluster expansion is shown. The analysis of the profiles and relative intensities of spectral lines allows one to determine the temperature and density of plasma electrons and distinguish the populations of “thermal” ions and ions that are accelerated up to energies of a few tens of kiloelectronvolts. It is shown that the use of solid clusters made of frozen nanoscale water droplets as targets leads to a substantial increase in the number of fast He-like ions. In this case, however, the efficiency of acceleration of H-like ions does not increase, because the time of their ionization in plasma exceeds the time of cluster expansion.  相似文献
