The heterogeneity of bromophenol blue from different commercial sources was revealed by paper chromatography. Isopropanol:ammonia:water (20:1:2) as the solvent system gave the best separation. A variety of impurities: violet, pink, light blue and yellow coloured ones were observed. Two of the yellow fractions showed a spectral shift to red in the presence of ammonia vapour. The respone of the main dye component with the anionic chromotropes such as heparin and hyaluronate was found to be metachromatic similar to that exhibited by the dye solution and not due to a polychromatic effect. The metachromatic effect was blocked by FeCl3 as in the case of cationic dye metachromasy. The observed metachromatic colour is not one of the colours which characterize those resulting from changes caused by pH.  相似文献

Summary A series of phosphopeptides Tyr(PO3H2)-Val-Pro-Xxx-Leu (Xxx=Met, Met(O), Nle, Dab or Cys), derived from the native platelet-derived growth factor- receptor (PDGF-) sequence, has been prepared to study their interaction with the src-homology 2 (SH2) domains of the p85 subunit of PI3 kinase. The phosphopeptides were synthesized using Fmoc methodology incorporating N-Boc dibenzyl-protected phosphotyrosine (Boc-Tyr[PO3(Bzl)2]) as the N-terminal amino acid, since the benzyl groups can be removed during resin cleavage with TFA. Only peptides containing methionine were found to exist partially as S-benzyl sulfonium salts after TFA cleavage from the resin. The desired peptide could be obtained from the S-benzyl sulfonium salt by hydrogenolysis.  相似文献

Microalgae are one of the important components in food chains of aquatic ecosystems and have been used for human consumption as food and as medicines. The wide diversity of compounds synthesized from different metabolic pathways of fresh and marine water algae provide promising sources of fatty acids, steroids, carotenoids, polysaccharides, lectins, mycosporine-like amino acids, halogenated compounds, polyketides, toxins, agar agar, alginic acid and carrageenan. MXene, a new class of 2D materials, has gained significant attention owing to its attractive electrical conductivity, tunable work function, and metallic nature for wide range of applications. Herein, delaminated few layered Ti3C2Tx MXene contacted Si solar cells with a maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of ≈11.5% under AM1.5G illumination are demonstrated. The formation of an Ohmic junction of the metallic MXene to n+‐Si surface efficiently extracts the photogenerated electrons from n+np+‐Si, decreases the contact resistance, and suppresses the charge carrier recombination, giving rise to excellent open‐circuit voltage and short‐circuit current density. The rapid thermal annealing process further improves the electrical contact between Ti3C2Tx MXene and n+‐Si surface by reducing sheet resistance, increasing electrical conductivity, and decreasing cell series resistance, thus leading to a remarkable improvement in fill factor and overall PCE. The work demonstrated here can be extended to other MXene compositions as potential electrodes for developing highly performing solar cells.  相似文献

Increasing death rates due to antibiotic resistance deteriorate the existing treatment measures. Antimicrobial peptides have turned into the emerging cure for multidrug resistance. However, the stability and functionality determine an antimicrobial peptide as a drug. Analyses of the homodimeric β-helical peptide, gramicidin have suggested the significant role of gramicidin-A, gramicidin-B, and gramicidin-C as antimicrobial compounds, but the structural basis for understanding the stability and functionality is insufficient to resolve multidrug resistance. To identify the best template among gramicidin types as a therapeutic product, we combined a detailed comparative static analysis and dynamic analysis along with conformational free energy and secondary structure prediction. We observed that the high intramolecular interactions and the geometrical features favored gramicidin-A among other types of gramicidin. Our analyses further revealed that the secondary structure of gramicidin-A showed β sheets with coils along the conformations without any disruption, thereby enhanced its membrane interactions in terms of binding free energy. In conclusion, gramicidin-A has definitely showed enhanced structural stability and functionality; this could be considered the best template for a potential therapeutic product.  相似文献
