Figures of merit are introduced for estimation of achievable resolution of surface plasmon (SP) sensors by modulation type. The resolution of SP sensors in the Kretschmann’s geometry is estimated by numerical simulation for combinations of silver (Ag), copper (Cu), aluminum (Al), chromium, and titanium layers with a gold (Au) layer in the ultraviolet (UV), visible, and infrared (IR) regions in cases of detecting the change of the refractive index of water and the presence of an adsorption layer in water. SP biosensors with angular modulation based on Al exhibit low resolution in the UV region; Ag, Au, and Cu biosensors show best resolution in the visible region. Biosensors with intensity modulation demonstrate high performance in the near IR by Ag, Au, and Cu metals, and in the UV by Al.  相似文献

The anticrossing behavior of dispersion curves of the surface plasmon polaritons supported by metal-insulator-metal structures are studied experimentally and theoretically. Samples consisting of a poly(methyl methacrylate) layer sandwiched by Ag films are prepared and their angle- and wavelength-scan attenuated total reflection spectra are measured. From an analysis of the angle-scan spectrum, the coupled-mode nature of the surface plasmon polariton modes is suggested. The dispersion relations obtained from the wavelength-scan spectra exhibit clearly the anticrossing behavior that arises from the coupling of the modes. The experimental dispersion relations are in good agreement with theoretical ones.  相似文献

We discuss the experimental data of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) occurring at the interface between air and single and bimetallic thin layers of Au and Ag prepared on glass substrates. The bilayer configuration allowed for the measurements of the optical constants of metallic films that are ultra thin; e.g., below 10 nm of thickness since SPR modes on such thin films in a single-layer configuration are shallow. We also discuss the effect of film thickness on SPR coupling. Thickness and refractive index of the films were determined by matching experimental SPR curves to the theoretical ones. Thickness and roughness of the films were also measured by atomic force microscopy. The results obtained by experimental measurements are in good agreement with AFM analysis.  相似文献

Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) and tomato yellow leaf curl Sardinia virus (TYLCSV) (genus Begomovirus, family Geminiviridae) as well as their whitefly vector Bemisia tabaci were reported from the south‐west and central regions of Morocco. To establish a more comprehensive view of tomato begomoviruses and B. tabaci biotypes throughout Morocco, 32 tomato fields were surveyed for tomato yellow leaf curl disease (TYLCD) symptoms in southern and northern regions, and 54 samples of leaves from cultivated plants or weeds and 35 B. tabaci individuals were collected and analysed by PCR, randomly amplified polymorphic DNA and sequencing. Only TYLCV or TYLCSV were detected. TYLCV was detected in 15 plant samples whereas TYLCSV only in 4. Sequence analyses revealed the presence of the ‘Spanish’ strain of TYLCSV and distinguished two genetically distinct strains of TYLCV. The begomovirus infections were unevenly distributed throughout Morocco. In the north‐west and north‐central regions where tomato plants exhibiting TYLCD symptoms were rarely observed, only 1 sample out of 13 tested positive for the presence of a begomovirus. In the north‐east region, the ratio of begomovirus‐positive samples was higher, 6/13, and in the south‐west region, it was the highest, 13/14. Consistently the frequency of plants exhibiting TYLCD‐like symptoms in the northern regions was lower than that in the south‐west region. B. tabaci biotype Q is present throughout the country and in Algeria, whereas biotype B, identified for the first time in Morocco, was detected only in the north‐east region.  相似文献

Abstract: Biology of Hippodamia variegata Goeze (Col., Coccinellidae) and its suitability against Aphis gossypii Glov (Hom., Aphididae) on cucumber under greenhouse conditions. Research work carried out in the laboratory has shown that temperature has a great effect on the development and the amount of feeding of Hippodamia variegata . The optimum temperature for its development and voracity approaches 26°C and the threshold development temperature is about 11.22°C. Investigations on its use in cucumber greenhouses against Aphis gossypii , the release of larvae and adult forms had shown satisfactory results. The efficiency level of this ladybird is a function of the ratio predator/prey and on the level of the aphid population at the moment of the ladybird release. The effect of density of the prey on the fecundity and the settlement of this ladybird under greenhouse conditions were also studied. The biological features and the efficiency of this ladybird are discussed.  相似文献
