In this paper the recent population changes of the Wild Boar in different European countries is analysed through the study of hunting statistics. A simultaneous increase in numbers is observed throughout the whole area during the period 1965–1975. From 1975 onwards the population stabilizes itself apart from in peripheral areas like Finland. Potentially favourable factors which play a part in this process are discussed and certain reproductive and dispersive characteristics which favour its invasive behaviour are discussed.  相似文献

Concentrations of K, P and Na were determined in skeletal and cardiac muscle cells of rat embryos. High K and P levels--133 and 166 mmole/kg wet weight, resp.,--were found in skeletal muscles of 13 day old embryos, the concentration of Na in these cells being 81 mmole/kg w. w. On the 18th day of development, K and P in skeletal muscle cells decreased down to 79 and 118 mmole/kg w. w., resp., while the concentration of Na increased to 165 mmole/kg w. w. In 19 day old embryos, the concentrations of K and P increased, although they did not reach the level typical of skeletal muscles of adult rats. The concentrations of K and P in cardiac muscle cells of 13 day embryos were found equal to 100 and 108 mmole/kg w. w., resp., on the 19th day of development these concentrations reached the level typical of the cardiac muscle cells of adult rats.  相似文献

A one-dimensional model imitating the growth and zone formation of a colony of the radiant fungus streptomycete on a synthetic agar nutrient medium with pyruvate, glucose, or succinate as a limiting source of energy and carbon was considered. The key parameters were determined whose values depend on the composition of nutrient medium and environmental conditions.  相似文献

Amino acid residues His and Cys of the NAD-dependent hydrogenase from the hydrogen-oxidizing bacterium Ralstonia eutropha H16 were chemically modified with specific reagents. The modification of His residues of the nonactivated hydrogenase resulted in decrease in both hydrogenase and diaphorase activities of the enzyme. Activation of NADH hydrogenase under anaerobic conditions additionally modified a His residue (or residues) significant only for the hydrogenase activity. The rate of decrease in the diaphorase activity was unchanged. The modification of thiol groups of the nonactivated enzyme did not affect the hydrogenase activity. The effect of thiol-modifying agents on the activated hydrogenase was accompanied by inactivation of both diaphorase and hydrogenase activities. The modification degree and changes in the corresponding catalytic activities depended on conditions of the enzyme activation. Data on the modification of cysteine and histidine residues of the hydrogenase suggested that the enzyme activation should be associated with significant conformational changes in the protein globule.  相似文献

Hypoxia induces angiogenesis in ischemized tissues by means of pro-angiogenic factor expression. The key role in the growth processes and blood vessel functioning belongs to the matrix metalloproteinases, plasminogen, and its activator systems. Effect of hypoxia on expression of the urokinase activating agent plasminogen and its receptor in endothelium was studied in human umbilical vein endothelial cell model. Incubation of the endothelial cells under the conditions of hypoxia proved to reduce both urokinase formation in these cells and its secreting into the culture medium. The hypoxia-induced reduction of urokinase contents was accompanied by enhancement of expression of the urokinase receptor. The hypoxia also entailed reduction of the adenylate cyclase activity and cAMP contents in the endothelial cells. The data obtained suggest that reduction of the adenylate cyclase activity and cAMP contents under the conditions of hypoxia provide basis for suppression of the urokinase expression by the endothelial cells and, consequently, inhibition of blood vessel formation in the ischemized tissue.  相似文献
