Natural electrical activity in the left greater splanchnic nerve during feeding was studied in chronic experiments on dogs. The method of separation of coherent components in pulsed form was used to analyze the discharges: Recording from the nerve was carried out at two points; activity was delayed by the time for its conduction along the nerve between the channels, in the channel which received it first, and it was then led from both channels to the coincidence unit. Spontaneous afferent impulsation was shown to spread among a group of nerve fibers with conduction velocities of between 3.7 and 20 m/sec, and with a mean velocity for the maximum of activity of 9.2±1.0 m/sec. Efferent spontaneous activity was not detected. During feeding with meat, besides spontaneous activity, activity of a group of afferent fibers with conduction velocities within the range 3.7–9.2 m/sec also was found (the mean velocity for the maximum of activity was 5.8±0.7 m/sec), and also activity of a group of efferent fibers with conduction velocities within the range 2.5–9.8 m/sec (mean value for maximum 3.5±0.5 m/sec).A. Tonic electrical activity of different groups of afferent fibers of the intact vagus nerve arising in stretch receptors of the lungs was investigated in acute experiments on cats. The method of coincidence of recorded action potentials was used: Recordings were taken from two points of the nerve, the flow of impulses was delayed by the time taken for their conduction along the nerve between the channels in the one that received it first, and impulses from both channels were then led to a coincidence unit. Fibers with a range of conduction velocities from 8 to 65 m/sec were shown to participate in the transmission of tonic activity from stretch receptors of the lungs to the CNS. Two groups of most active afferent fibers with conduction velocities within the range 35–46 m/sec (mean 41±2.5 m/sec) and 26–34 m/sec (mean 29.4±1.4 m/sec) were distinguished.  相似文献

On neurons of the superior cervical ganglion of 3-week-old rats, we studied the mechanism underlying the blocking effect of mecamylamine on transmembrane currents evoked by iontophoretic application of acetylcholine (ACh currents); these currents were recorded with the use of a patch-clamp technique in the whole-cell configuration. The IC50 of the above agent equaled (2.7 ± 0.3) · 10-10 M. The blocking effect of mecamylamine on ACh current did not depend on the membrane potential and decreased with rise in the concentration of the drug. Thus, a competitive blocking mechanism mostly underlies the above phenomenon.  相似文献

An electrochemical system of cytochrome P-450 reduction in the presence of the water-soluble redox carrier methylviologen has been developed. In this system cytochrome P-450 effectuates a steady-state demethylation of dimethylaniline and hydroxylation of aniline. The results of control experiments suggest that the above reactions are mediated by cytochrome P-450. The effect of the peroxidase reaction is excluded by an addition of high concentrations of catalase to the incubation mixture. At the same time the hydroxylation of these substrates is accompanied by methylviologen demethylation.  相似文献

The blocking effects of newly synthesized compounds N-decyltropine bromide (IEM-1556) and its derivatives N-methyltropine iodide (IEM-1893) and N-hexyltropine iodide (IEM-1848), possessing aliphatic radicals of different length, on the vagus-induced reduction of the heart rate were studied in acute experiments on rats. The effects produced by these compounds on the level of arterial blood pressure and synaptic transmission in the superior cervical ganglion (SCG) of the rat were studied and compared with those produced by classical ganglion-blocking agents (hexamethonium and trimetaphan) and muscle relaxants (pancuronium and decamethonium). IEM-1556 much more effectively blocked the vagus-induced reduction of the heart rate than other tested blocking agents, and, in contrast to the classical ganglion-blocking agents and decamethonium, did not reduce the arterial blood pressure. In addition, IEM-1556 was less effective than hexamethonium in blocking synaptic transmission through the SCG. IEM-1893 and IEM-1848 demonstrated lower efficacy in blocking SCG transmission, if compared with that of IEM-1556. The results suggest that IEM-1556 is a highly selective blocking agent for parasympathetic versus sympathetic pathways, and its selectivity is determined by the presence of a decyl aliphatic radical in its molecule.Neirofiziologiya/Neurophysiology, Vol. 27, No. 5/6, pp. 323–330, September–December, 1995.  相似文献
