Following elaboration of long-term habituation to a startle-response, antibodies to neurotrophic factor protein S100b exerted selective and dose-dependent influence on different learning processes and memory of learned behavioural patterns in adult rats. S100b increased at all stages of behavioural skill development in hippocampus, hypothalamus, frontal cortex, cerebellar hemispheres and vermis, basal ganglia.  相似文献

The content of extracellular dopamine (DA) was estimated in dorsal striatum (DS), nucleus accumbens (Nac), and prefrontal cortex (Pfc) of rat brain during two sessions of acoustic startle habituation consisting of 10 trials each with 24-hour intersession and 20-s intertrial intervals. Startle amplitude and freezing behavior were recorded. A decrease in the content of extracellular DA in the DS and an increase in the DA content in Nac were observed during both sessions of habituation with return to a baseline level immediately after termination of the sessions. During the second session, the startle amplitude and change in the DA content in both structures were much lower than during the first session. During the first session, the DA level in DS remained unchanged but dropped in Nac. In the Pfc the DA level increased during both habituation sessions and in the period between the session. Time of freezing prior to acoustic stimulation in the second sessions (that is known to be an indication of conditioned fear) correlated with the DA level in DS on the day of training and with the DA level in Nac just before the beginning of the second session. The role of the dopaminergic system in formation and retrieval of different components of defensive behavior is discussed.  相似文献

A population-based case-control study was conducted to estimate the radiation-related risk of thyroid cancer in persons who were exposed in childhood to (131)I from the Chernobyl accident of April 26, 1986 and to investigate the impact of uncertainties in individual dose estimates. Included were all 66 confirmed cases of primary thyroid cancer diagnosed from April 26, 1986 through September 1998 in residents of Bryansk Oblast, Russia, who were 0-19 years old at the time of the accident, along with two individually matched controls for each case. Thyroid radiation doses, estimated using a semi-empirical model based on environmental contamination data and individual characteristics, ranged from 0.00014 Gy to 2.73 Gy and had large uncertainties (median geometric standard deviation 2.2). The estimated excess relative risk (ERR) associated with radiation exposure, 48.7/Gy, was significantly greater than 0 (P = 0.00013) but had an extremely wide 95% confidence interval (4.8 to 1151/Gy). Adjusting for dose uncertainty nearly tripled the ERR to 138/Gy, although this was likely an overestimate due to limitations in the modeling of dose uncertainties. The radiation-related excess risk observed in this study is quite large, especially if the uncertainty of dose estimation is taken into account, but is not inconsistent with estimates previously reported for risk after (131)I exposure or acute irradiation from external sources.  相似文献

The neuroprotective effect of Thr-Gly-Glu-Asn-His-Arg hexapeptide (HLDF-6), a biologically active fragment of the differentiation factor of human leukemia cells (HLDF), was demonstrated on models of Alzheimer's disease in vivo and in vitro. The syndromes of this pathology were induced in male rats by administration of the peptide corresponding to the 25-35 sequence of beta-amyloid peptide (25-35) and ibotenic acid into the hippocampus. HLDF-6 prevented loss of long-term memory and decrease in the orientation-investigation activity of these animals and significantly decreased the number of pyknotic neurons in the CA1 area of the hippocampus. This peptide also exerts a protective effect in vitro on the primary cultures of neurons of the hippocampus and cerebellum of rats under conditions of the beta-amyloid toxicity. An increase in the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) content was demonstrated in the blood plasma of rats with the syndrome of Alzheimer's disease and in the medium of the culture of hippocampus neurons in the presence of the Abeta(25-35) peptide. HLDF-6 inhibited this increase in both cases. A probable mechanism of the neuroprotective effect of HLDF-6 was suggested as being connected to its possible effect on both the biosynthesis and the metabolism of sex steroid hormones.  相似文献

The importance of six theoretically calculated molecular parameters in the antigibberellin (retardant) activity of quaternary ammonium salts is studied using a regression analysis. A bioassay system based on cell culture of fungus Gibberella fujikuroi is used to determine the activity. In the case of N,N,N-trimethyl-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium chloride (choline) and N,N,N-triethyl-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium chloride (N,N,N-triethylcholine) derivatives with linear structure, the polarizability, proton acceptor activity, and lipophilicity of these compounds exert the largest effect on the antigibberellin activity. The antigibberellin activity of more sterically hindered N,N-dialkylpiperidinium salts was mainly defined by the steric parameter, while the polarizability, proton acceptor activity, and (through them) lipophilicity exert a lesser effect. Other parameters are of minor importance for the three groups of compounds studied.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine the first effect of lead on microbial activity in soil. The study was carried out in the soil samples from four different radish (Raphanus sativus L. var. radicula, Brassicaceae) fields along the highway in a district (Kadirli, Osmaniye) of the Eastern Mediterranean Region, Turkey. After the calculation of Pb contents, the Pb amounts of the soil samples were brought up to 50 and 100 mg Pb kg?1 by treatment with Pb(NO 3 ) 2 , and the samples for the carbon and the nitrogen mineralization were incubated under controlled conditions (28°C, constant moist). The carbon mineralization was determined by a CO 2 respiration method for 30 days. The nitrogen mineralization was observed in vitro for 6 weeks. The untreated group was statistically different from the 50 and 100 mg Pb kg?1 treatments in the aspect of the C(CO 2 ) outlet during mineralization (P ≤ 0.05), but difference between the 50 and 100 mg Pb kg?1 treatments was not significant. NH 4 -N and NO 3 -N contents of each soil were shown differences between across treatments. Based on these results, it is possible to conclude that the addition of 50 and 100 mg Pb kg?1 provided a toxic effect threshold for the microbial activity into 30 days.  相似文献

Twelve fungi namelyAlternaria alternata, Aspergillus flavus, A niger, A ochraceus, Actinomucor repens, Capnodoium spp., Curvularia lunata, Fusarium pallidoroseum, F solani, F verticillioides, Penicillium citrinum and Rhizopus stolonifer were recorded from samples ofAegle marmelos, Aesculus indica, Buchanania lanzan andPinus gerardiana. In case ofPrunus amygdalus only Rstolonifer was recorded. A significant variation in pattern of mycoflora incidence was observed in terms of source and season. Fungal infestation in most of the substrates was found to be highest during monsoon. Aflatoxins were the most common mycotoxins elaborated by different isolates ofA flavus obtained fromA marmelos, B lanzan andP gerardiana. The amount of aflatoxins produced by the toxigenic isolates ofA flavus was in the range of traces to 0.9–26.0 μg/ml inA marmelos, 0.8–17.5 μg/ml inP gerardiana and 0.65–13.2 μg/ml inB lanzan. The percentage toxigenicity was comparatively lower in the isolates of other mycotoxigenic fungi. Aflatoxins were detected almost in all the samples analyzed for mycotoxin contamination. However, traces of zearalenone were detected inA marmelos. The concentration of aflatoxin B1 was in the range of 0.13–0.75 μg/g inA marmelos, 0.09–0.60 μg/g inP gerardiana and 0.01–0.20 ug/g inB lanzan. Mycotoxins were not detected inAesculus indica andPrunus amygdalus.  相似文献
