Results of two controlled epidemiological tests evaluating the prophylactic effect of gamma globulin of Monogolian and Soviet production against meningococcal infection are presented. Observations were carried out on children aged 3 months to 4 years, not attending children's establishments. The results of the observation revealed the following prophylactic effect of gamma globulin of Mongolian production in the first two months after administration: index of efficiency--5.0, coefficient of efficiency--80%, P greater than 0.01. The efficiency of the prophylactic effect of Soviet gamma globulin was limited to one month: the index of efficiency amounted to 5.3, the coefficient of efficiency to 82.2%, P greater than 0.01. The course of meningococcal infection in the children who had received gamma globulin was less severe than in the children of the control group. Lethal outcome was recorded only in the group of children who had not received gamma globulin. The duration of the prophylactic effect of gamma globulin was found to depend on the height of the titres of specific antibodies in the preparation. The preparations are recommended as prophylactic means for children aged from 3 months to 4 years in doses of 1.5 ml (one dose) in the foci of meningococcal infection.  相似文献

Amides containing homopiperidine and piperazine cycles were synthesized from dihydrobetulonic acid obtained by the oxidation of dihydrobetulin. All substances were shown to have a high antitumor activity (CCID50 = 3.5–36.2 μM) in vitro in lymphoid (CEM-13, U-937) and monocytic (MT-4) human cell lines. Amides containing the methyl- and ethylpiperazine residues do not influence the viability of Lung Lewis Carcinoma cells in culture and do not have a significant effect on its transplants in C57BL/6 mice. However, these amides efficiently inhibit the development of metastases in lungs of these mice. The antimetastatic activity of the studied amides increases with changing the methyl by ethyl aliphatic residue in the piperazine cycle.  相似文献

The physicochemical, catalytic, and antiproliferative activity of a recombinant L-asparaginase from Yersinia pseudotuberculosis (YpA) have been studied. The following results were obtained: the K M value for L-asparagine is 17 ± 0.9 ??M, the optimal temperature is 60°C, pH is 8.0, pI is 5.4 ± 0.3, the L-glutaminase activity is no more than 5?C6% of the L-asparaginase activity, and the antiproliferative activity on the Fisher L5178y lymphadenosis cell line comprised T/C = 136% (p < 0.001) at a 15% recovery rate. The described characteristic allows one to regard YpA as an antitumor enzyme with biological features similar to the L-asparaginase of E. coli.  相似文献

Phage display was used to obtain peptides mimicking a HIV-1 gp41 conserved epitope recognized by virus-neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (mAb) 2F5. Rabbits and mice were immunized with the peptides exposed on the surface of filamentous bacteriophages. Antibodies to gp41 were detected in the sera of immunized animals. The assignment of NMR resonances of lupane triterpenoids was refined by the example of 3O,28O-dinicotinoylbetulin, obtained by acylation of betulin. Hepatoprotective, antiulcer, antiinflammatory, reparative, and anti-HIV activities were found for the compound. In addition, it was demonstrated to have immunomodulatory activity, for the first time detected among lupane triterpenoids.  相似文献

Glycyrrhizic acid and its 30-methyl ester were conjugated with 2-amino-1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-deoxy--D-glucopyranose, 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl--D-glucopyranosyl amine, 2,3,4-tri-O-acetyl--L-arabinopyranosyl amine, 2-acetamido-2-deoxy--D-glucopyranosyl amine, and -D-galactopyranosyl amine using N,N-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide and its mixtures with N-hydroxybenzotriazole. Structures of the conjugates were confirmed by IR, UV, 1H, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The glycoconjugate with the residues of 2-acetamido-2-deoxy--D-glucopyranosyl amine in the carbohydrate part of its molecule exhibited antiviral activity (ID50 4 g/ml) toward the herpes simplex type 1 virus (HSV-1) in the VERO cell culture. Two compounds demonstrated anti-HIV-1 activity (50–70% inhibition of p24) in a culture of MT-4 cells at concentrations of 0.5–20 g/ml.  相似文献
