It has been found that lymphocytes of hypercholesterolemic (HCh) subjects are characterized by a reduced number of glucocorticoid receptors (GcR) as compared with the cells of normolipidemics (N). Addition of HCh-sera or very low density lipoproteins, or low density lipoproteins isolated both from HCh-sera and N-sera to cultured human skin fibroblasts brought about a fall in the number of GcR in the cells. High density lipoproteins had no effect on GcR level. Dexamethasone was less effective in inhibiting cholesterol synthesis from [14C]acetate in the lymphocytes and fibroblasts with a reduced number of GcR. In the presence of dexamethasone (I x 10(-8)M) in fibroblast growth medium, reduced number of GcR (due to preincubation with very low density lipoproteins) led to a substantial increase in cholesterol synthesis. These findings indicate that the sensitivity of peripheral cells to glucocorticoids is decreased in HCh which might be one of the trigger mechanisms of atherogenesis. 相似文献

PGRP-S (Tag7) is an innate immunity protein involved in the antimicrobial defense systems, both in insects and in mammals. We have previously shown that Tag7 specifically interacts with several proteins, including Hsp70 and the calcium binding protein S100A4 (Mts1), providing a number of novel cellular functions. Here we show that Tag7–Mts1 complex causes chemotactic migration of lymphocytes, with NK cells being a preferred target. Cells of either innate immunity (neutrophils and monocytes) or acquired immunity (CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes) can produce this complex, which confirms the close connection between components of the 2 branches of immune response. 相似文献

of bottom communities, 149 taxa one rank below the genus have been found. Chironomid larvae and other amphibiotic animals,

The effects of moderate alcohol consumption on the capacity of blood sera to promote acceptance of cholesterol (C) from Fu5AH hepatoma cells, esterification of delivered free C, and transfer of produced cholesteryl esters to apolipoprotein (apo) B-containing lipoproteins have been studied. Twenty male subjects with relatively high (>50 mg/dl, n = 10) and low (<50 mg/dl, n = 10) high density lipoprotein (HDL) C levels consumed for eight weeks red grape wine (0.3 g ethanol/kg body mass per day). Alcohol consumption reduced total C and low density lipoprotein C levels in both groups of subjects. Low HDL C subjects showed an increase in HDL C, apo AI, apo AII, and lipoprotein (Lp) AI particle levels after alcohol consumption. Alcohol did not affect free C efflux from the cells. However, after the following period of substitution of alcohol with an isocaloric amount of red grape juice, cellular C efflux markedly reduced. While lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) activity increased during alcohol consumption only in subjects with low HDL C, high HDL C subjects showed a significant decrease in cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) activity. At the same time, alcohol consumption reduced the endogenous C esterification rate and increased the transfer of endogenous cholesteryl esters to apo B-containing lipoproteins in both groups. Thus, alcohol consumption in moderate doses enhanced the anti-atherogenicity of the serum lipoprotein spectrum, supporting more effective C efflux from peripheral cells and transport of accepted C to apo B-containing lipoproteins. The structure of macrozoobenthos has been studied in the deep-water part of the Rybinsk Reservoir. A total of 73 species of
bottom macroinvertebrates have been recorded, the majority of which are mollusks, oligochaetes, and chironomids. The macrozoobenthos
on gray silts of channel parts of the reservoir was the richest in taxonomic composition and quantitative abundance. The maximum
number of species has been recorded in the former mouth of the Mologa River, and the highest abundance of macrozoobenthos
has been recorded near the village of Breitovo in June. Most of the macrozoobenthos is made up of oligochaetes and chironomid
larvae; midge larvae dominate by biomass. Compared to the end of the 20th century, changes in the taxonomic composition and

The relationship between disturbances of hemostasis, blood insulin, and type of obesity was studied in nonobese subjects and in obese subjects with different body fat distribution under the conditions of postprandial lipemia (after a single standard fat load). In total, 44 subjects (16 men and 28 women aged 18–58) were divided into three groups according to the presence and type of obesity: a group with normal body weight, a group with abdominal obesity, and a group with gluteofemoral obesity. In abdominal obesity, triglyceride clearance was low and insulin secretion after a fat load was abnormally prolonged over 6 h; consequently, fibrinolysis decreased. Hemostasis disturbances in the obese subjects were aggravated by increased fibrinogen. Thus, a combination of metabolically associated disturbances (hypertriglyceridemia, hyperinsulinemia, and hypofibrinolysis) increases considerably the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) in obese subjects, especially, in those with abdominal obesity. 相似文献

The insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene was studied in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and healthy individuals randomly sampled from the Moscow population. The ACE gene proved to be associated with the plasma apolipoprotein B (ApoB) content in CHD patients, but not associated with HCD development in individuals with elevated serum cholesterol and triglycerides. Using multivariate statistical analysis, an attempt has been made to select hypertensive and normotensive sub-groups of subjects on the basis of certain parameters of their blood serum, such as the inhibition of purified Na,K-ATPase by serum and the content of two proteins with molecular masses of 12 and 15 kDa. An analysis of 20 human beings (10 hypertensive and 10 normotensive individuals) revealed that the best division into sub-groups is achieved only through the use of a combination of these three parameters. 相似文献

Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) produced by individual hepatocytes and hepatocyte microcolonies was detected with microelectrophoresis-precipitation in polyacrylamide gel. Hepatic cells of 6--13-week-old human embryos were cultivated in vitro for 2 to 5 days. 23 of 28 individual cells, and 89 of 91 microcolonies, built up of 2--35 cells, were demonstrated to produce AFP within the range of 70--800 pg per cell. 相似文献
