The relationship between delayed hypersensitivity (DH) to S. aureus surface antigens and the intensity of the infectious process induced by the sublethal infection of guinea pigs with S. aureus was studied. The protective effect, manifested by a decrease in the staphylococcal contamination of the spleen tissue and by an increase in the level of the activation of lymphocytes, was shown to correlate with DH induced by inactivated staphylococcal cells. In infected guinea pigs having DH to different staphylococcal antigens the disease either took a more severe course (in cases of DH to cell wall or peptidoglycan) than in the animals subjected only to infection, or no aggravation of the disease was observed (in cases of DH to protein A).  相似文献

The effect of low chloramphenicol concentrations on the biosynthesis of RNA, ribosomal proteins and RNA polymerase in E. coli CP 78 cells was studied. When protein synthesis was decreased by 50--70%, 14C-uracil incorporation in DNA increased twice, the rRNA synthesis being stimulated preferentially. In the presence of antibiotic the RNA/DNA ratio increased from 5,7 to 13,3. The differential rate of r-protein synthesis increased simultaneously with the stimulation of rRNA synthesis, so that alphar rises from 0,083 (without antibiotic) to 0,122 and 0,161 at 5 and 10 microgram/ml of chloramphenicol, respectively. The inhibition of protein synthesis by chloramphenicol is accompanied also by the increase of differential rate of synthesis of beta and beta' subunits of RNA polymerase. In the presence of 5 and 10 microgram/ml of chloramphenicol, alphap increased from 0,90% to 1,44 and 1,57%, respectively. It is assumed that the genes for beta and beta' subunits of RNA polymerase as the ribosomal genes are negatively controlled by guanosine tetraphosphate which intracellular concentration decreased in the presence of chloramphenicol. The known data on the influence of streptolydigin and rifampicin on the RNA polymerase biosynthesis are discussed in view of proposed hypothesis.  相似文献

Renal function, the anatomic and functional status of the vena cava inferior, renal arteries and veins, and spermatic veins were evaluated in healthy individuals and patients with varicocele before and 12 months after laparoscopic ligation of the left spermatic vein. The renal vessels were assessed by color Doppler ultrasonography and renal function was examined by complex radionuclide study with 99mTc-pentatech. There were no significant changes in the diameter of renal arteries and vena cava inferior and the right arterial blood flow velocities in healthy individuals and patients. No difference were found in the diameter of renal veins and in the blood flow velocity in renal arteries and veins. The enlarged renal veins and decreased mean blood flow velocity in the left renal vein in healthy persons and patients with varicocele and lower blood flow in the left renal artery than in the right one indicate left-sided renal hypertension that is attributable to left renal vein overload due to a great variety of collaterals and to compression at the site of "a forcepts". At the same time 12-month postoperative ultrasonic, Doppler and complex radionuclide studies revealed no significant changes in the diameter and blood flow velocity in the left renal vein.  相似文献

The review of the data on comparative chromosomal painting in mammals is presented. The development of new molecular-cytogenetic methods has resulted in the accumulation of the detailed information on homology of chromosomal segments of more than 50 species from 11 orders. In this review, modern methods of obtaining painting probes are considered in detail, and the basic tendencies of karyotype evolution in different taxa are discussed. Putative karyotypes of the ancestors of primates, carnivores, and placental mammals are considered.  相似文献

Background  

Parathyroid hormone (PTH) and PTH-related peptide (PTHrP) belong to a family of endocrine factors that share a highly conserved N-terminal region (amino acids 1-34) and play key roles in calcium homeostasis, bone formation and skeletal development. Recently, PTH-like peptide (PTH-L) was identified in teleost fish raising questions about the evolution of these proteins. Although PTH and PTHrP have been intensively studied in mammals their function in other vertebrates is poorly documented. Amphibians and birds occupy unique phylogenetic positions, the former at the transition of aquatic to terrestrial life and the latter at the transition to homeothermy. Moreover, both organisms have characteristics indicative of a complex system in calcium regulation. This study investigated PTH family evolution in vertebrates with special emphasis on Xenopus and chicken.  相似文献

Roentgenourologic methods and ultrasonic scanning (USS) should be combined in the radiologic diagnosis of urologic diseases. USS should be the first stage of examinations of urologic patients, and its results should be taken into account when planning and carrying out excretory urography. USS can be repeated before more sophisticated roentgenourologic examinations in order to single out the "zones of interest"; special programmes are possible for the purpose-pharmacoechography, dopplerography, etc. Development of tentative algorithms of x-ray and ultrasonic diagnosis of the major urologic diseases will help optimize the diagnostic process.  相似文献
