PGRP-S (Tag7) is an innate immunity protein involved in the antimicrobial defense systems, both in insects and in mammals. We have previously shown that Tag7 specifically interacts with several proteins, including Hsp70 and the calcium binding protein S100A4 (Mts1), providing a number of novel cellular functions. Here we show that Tag7–Mts1 complex causes chemotactic migration of lymphocytes, with NK cells being a preferred target. Cells of either innate immunity (neutrophils and monocytes) or acquired immunity (CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes) can produce this complex, which confirms the close connection between components of the 2 branches of immune response.  相似文献

The bactericidal effect of the polycationic peptide warnerin, produced by Staphylococcus warneri IEGM KL-1, was found to depend on the energy state of susceptible Staphylococcus epidermidis cells. The pre-treatment of these cells with compounds that diminish the proton-motive force of plasma membranes enhanced cell tolerance to warnerin. The components deltapsi and deltapH of the membrane proton potential influenced the antibacterial activity of warnerin in different ways. In particular, the antibacterial activity of warnerin decreased when the electric component of the proton-motive force of target membranes declined.  相似文献

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to amplify a segment of the mitochondrial DNA coding for NADH-dehydrogenase subunits ND5/ND6 in five smelt species (family Osmeridae). Amplified DNA was screened for restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP). Nucleotide sequence divergence of mitochondrial DNA between species ranges from 11.9 (between Hypomesus nipponensis and H. japonicus) to 24.7% (between Osmerus mordax dentex and Mallotus villosus catervarius). The genetic divergence between populations of H. nipponensis, H. japonicus, and Osmerus mordax dentex was 0.32, 0.08 to 0.15, and 0.025%, respectively. The absence of common haplotypes enables differentiation of closely related smelt species and, therefore, can be used for solving current problems in the taxonomy and biogeography of this family.  相似文献

The role of opiate receptors on cell division in corneal epithelium during administration of dalargin was analysed. Naloxone injection/200 micrograms/kg/decreased MI two times, DNA-synthesis 1.4 times over 24 hours. Naloxone prevented dalargin effect on cell proliferation. Another testimonies of dalargin opiate-binding mitogenic effect were the results of the study with dalargin analogues. They are agonists of opiate receptors too. These drugs, as well as dalargin, in a dose 10 micrograms/kg increased DNA-synthesis 1.5 times, MI and MIK 2.2 times. It turned out, that the administration of another two analogues of dalargin, which are not ligands of opiate receptors, probably do not cause an adequate increase of DNA-synthesis and mitotic index.  相似文献

The contractile activity of smooth muscle of tracheobronchial lymph nodes' capsules was recorded in vitro. The field electric stimulation (0.5 ms pulses, 55 V nominal, 4 min trains at frequencies 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 Hz) of strips from lymph node produced a frequency-dependent increase in baseline tension and frequency of phase contractions. Evoked contractions were significantly (about 80%) reduced by tetrodotoxin (1 x 10(-6) M). The blockage of M-cholinoreceptors with atropine (1 x 10(-6) M) did not affect the field-evoked responses. Contractile field-evoked effects were significantly reduced by the phentolamine (1 x 10(-7)-1 x 10(-6) M) but not completely. Field-evoked contractions were slightly affected by the propranolol (1 x 10(-7)-1 x 10(-6) M). We conclude that the contractile activity of bovine tracheobronchial lymph node capsular smooth muscle is modulated by excitatory adrenergic nerves.  相似文献

Bivalve mollusks of the genus Mytilus (M. trossulus and M. galloprovincialis) occurring in Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan were first studied in Russia. A region of nonrepetitive sequences of the gene encoding the polyphenolic adhesive protein bissus was used as a species-specific genetic marker. After amplification using specific primers, a 126-bp fragment was found to amplify in all representatives of M. galloprovincialis collected from driftwood in the gulf Posset (the southwestern part of Peter the Great Bay). M. trossulus specimens from the same region were shown to have a 168-bp fragment. In Vostok Gulf (the eastern part of Peter the Great Bay), both artificially grown mussels and those from natural habitats contained a 168-bp fragment or two fragments (126- and 168-bp) that corresponded to a hybrid form between the above species. The possibility of using this genetic marker to identify closely related Mytilus strains and their hybrids in similar habitats, near the Primorye coast in particular, was demonstrated. The presence of approximately 9% of hybrid specimens confirms that a zone of hybridization between M. trossulus and M. galloprovincialis may exist in this region.  相似文献

We present an efficient computational architecture designed using supervised machine learning model to predict amyloid fibril forming protein segments, named AmylPepPred. The proposed prediction model is based on bio-physio-chemical properties of primary sequences and auto-correlation function of their amino acid indices. AmylPepPred provides a user friendly web interface for the researchers to easily observe the fibril forming and non-fibril forming hexmers in a given protein sequence. We expect that this stratagem will be highly encouraging in discovering fibril forming regions in proteins thereby benefit in finding therapeutic agents that specifically aim these sequences for the inhibition and cure of amyloid illnesses.
