In experiment on model of the lipidemia in rats the efficiency of new antioxidant drug "Vitalong" was studied. The researches have shown that the drug brakes derivation of free radicals, increases activity of a superoxide scavenger, has antiinflammatory and adaptogenic operation. Vitalong prevents activation of serumal elastasa, locking thus destructive link of the atherogenesis. Ukrainian Ministry of Health permits the drug as a preventive means. 相似文献

The genus Ceratocystis sensu stricto includes important fungal pathogens of
woody and herbaceous plants. This genus is distinguished from species in
Ceratocystis sensu lato by the presence of Chalara anamorphs. Ascospore
shape has been used extensively in delineating Ceratocystis taxa, which
show a large variety of ascospore shapes. Sequence analysis of one region
of he 18S ribosomal RNA subunit and two regions of the 28S ribosomal RNA
subunit showed that there was a majority of multiple substitutions at
nucleotide sites and that there was a low transition/transversion ratio, T
= 0.72. Both of these results suggest that these are well established, old
species. Ascospore morphology, for the most part, was not congruent with
the molecular phylogeny, and the use of morphological characters may be
misleading in the taxonomy of these species.

A nuclear-envelope fraction was isolated from the rat ventral prostate which is virtually free of DNA and contains little RNA or plasma membrane. Isolation of this nuclear-envelope fraction after incubation of purified nuclei with radioactive dihydrotestosterone results in labelling of the membrane. More binding of dihydrotestosterone is observed after incubations at 22 degrees C for 17 h than at 4 degrees C for 17 h or at 22 degrees C for 60 min. Scatchard analysis revealed a class of binding sites with KD 8.4 nM. Dihydrotesterone and testosterone were almost equally effective as competitors of labelled dihydrotestosterone binding on the purified nuclear-envelope fraction, whereas diethylstilboestrol was less effective and dexamethasone did not compete well. When the outer membrane of the nuclei was removed with Triton X-100, a 24% decrease in specific binding of androgens was observed. Castration 24 h before preparation of nuclei resulted in loss of the androgen binding to the membrane. 相似文献

The hematoxylin and eosin stain is the most common method used in anatomic pathology, yet it is a method about which technologists ask numerous questions. Hematoxylin is a natural dye obtained from a tree originally found in Central America, and is easily converted into the dye hematein. This dye forms coordination compounds with mordant metals, such as aluminum, and the resulting lake attaches to cell nuclei. Regressive formulations contain a higher concentration of dye than progressive formulations and may also contain a lower concentration of mordant. The presence of an acid increases the life of the solution and in progressive solutions may also affect selectivity of staining. An appendix lists more than 60 hemalum formulations and the ratio of dye to mordant for each. 相似文献

Bacillus cereus causes a uniquely rapid and blinding intraocular infection, endophthalmitis. B. cereus replicates in the eye, synthesizes numerous toxins, and incites explosive intraocular inflammation. The mechanisms involved in the rapid and explosive intraocular immune response have not been addressed. Because Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are integral to the initial recognition of organisms during infection, we hypothesized that the uniquely explosive immune response observed during B. cereus endophthalmitis is directly influenced by the presence of TLR2, a known gram-positive pathogen recognition receptor. To address this hypothesis, we compared the courses of experimental B. cereus endophthalmitis in wild type C57BL/6J mice to that of age-matched homozygous TLR2(-/-) mice. Output parameters included analysis of bacterial growth, inflammatory cell (PMN) infiltration, cytokine/chemokine kinetics, retinal function testing, and histology, with N≥4 eyes/assay/time point/mouse strain. B. cereus grew at similar rates to10(8) CFU/eye by 12 h, regardless of the mouse strain. Retinal function was preserved to a greater degree in infected TLR2(-/-) eyes compared to that of infected wild type eyes, but infected eyes of both mouse strains lost significant function. Retinal architecture was preserved in infected TLR2(-/-) eyes, with limited retinal and vitreal cellular infiltration compared to that of infected wild type eyes. Ocular myeloperoxidase activities corroborated these results. In general, TNFα, IFNγ, IL6, and KC were detected in greater concentrations in infected wild type eyes than in infected TLR2(-/-) eyes. The absence of TLR2 resulted in decreased intraocular proinflammatory cytokine/chemokine levels and altered recruitment of inflammatory cells into the eye, resulting in less intraocular inflammation and preservation of retinal architecture, and a slightly greater degree of retinal function. These results demonstrate TLR2 is an important component of the initial ocular response to B. cereus endophthalmitis. 相似文献

mouse macrophage cell line infected by F. tularensis live vaccine strain (LVS) in vitro as a putative marker of subsequent elimination of infection. J774.2 cell line cells were
infected by F. tularensis LVS strain (multiplicity of infection, 1:100). Cell cultures were stimulated either 3 h before infection or 3 h after infection
by either lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or interferon γ (IFN-γ). The expression of ICAM-1 was determined by flow cytometry 6 h
after infection. The intensity of ICAM-1 expression after 6 h of J774.2 macrophage cells infection by F. tularensis is very sensitive indicator of the effective macrophages stimulation resulting in the elimination of F. tularensis infection. The mean fluorescence intensity MFI = 49.8 is set-up by our experiments as a reliable threshold of the effective
elimination of F. tularensis experimental infection with 83.3% sensitivity and 96.7% specificity, respectively. Simultaneous stimulation of J774.2 macrophage
cells by LPS and IFN-γ was essential to elicit the elimination of F. tularensis infection. The ICAM-1 expression determined by flow cytometry can be considered to be highly sensitive and specific approach
