The prolonged nonintensive physical activity by swimming without load (12 +/- 2 h.) has no effect on the overall amount of fast and slow transported proteins of transport velocity in rat central and peripheral sensory fibres of the sciatic nerve. However, the rate of fast axonal transport in the motor fibres decreases by 18% and the amount of proteins by a factor of 2 as compared with control. The rate of slow axonal transport does not change, but the mean level of transported labeled proteins decreases by 1.9 times. The relatively short-term but more intensive activity (swimming with the load during 60 +/- 10 min.) provokes an increase of the rate by 10% and the overall amount of fast transported proteins by 2 times. The rest of the animals during 6 h. returns the above parameters to control values. A suggestion is made that the rate and the amount of transported proteins depend on the variations in functional state of the neurons and their axons.  相似文献

The brief retrospective analysis of morbidity, epizootological data and preventive measures with respect to haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) during the whole period of its registration on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan along with the structure of HFRS morbidity during epidemic seasons of 1998 and 1999 is presented. The main causes of decreased HFRS morbidity in 1998, its rise in 1999 as well as prognosis for the year 2000 were detected. The level of HFRS morbidity among the population was found to be directly related to the number of rodents and their infection rate. The basic strategy of epidemic control interventions has been proposed.  相似文献

Treatment of patients diagnosed as schizophrenic with antipsychotic drugs (neuroleptics) is known to cause occasional unexplained depletion of white blood cells, especially neutrophil granulocytes. It has been known for many years that neuroleptics can interfere with the mitochondrial respiratory chain in vitro. Because there has been a growing interest recently in mitochondrial targeting of drugs, and since a quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) model that predicts mitochondrial accumulation of neuroleptics has been published, we investigated the effects of neuroleptics on white blood cell mitochondria. Venous blood samples were collected from both patients undergoing treatment with neuroleptics and healthy volunteers. The samples were processed for transmission electron microscopy. The resulting images of white blood cells were analyzed using stereology to compare quantitatively mitochondrial morphology in the patient and control groups. We found that in patients, but not in controls, there was swelling of mitochondria and fragmentation of the mitochondrial cristae. There also were fewer mitochondria in patients than in controls, although due to the swelling of the organelles, the volume density of mitochondria in the two groups was not significantly different. Such changes are typical of a toxic insult. Consequently, it seems plausible that, since schizophrenia is not a disease considered to affect white blood cells per se, these changes probably are due to the medication.  相似文献

Immunization of Wistar rats with thymus dependent antigens (sheep red blood cells-SRBC) is accompanied by a reliable increase in the synthesis of RNA and proteins in thalamic cerebral cortex and spinal marrow (48 hrs after antigen injection) and also in an increase in the intensity of rapid axoplasmic transport (RAT) along motor fibers of sciatic nerve (5,48,72 hrs following the beginning of immunization). There was a consecutive augmentation in AFC number in mesenteric and partly in inguinal lymph nodes (96 hrs after SRBC injection). Thus, time dependence between immunogenesis and axoplasmic transport in experimental animals (Wistar rats) was determined for the first time. It identifies another, previously unstudied, channel in interactions of immune and nervous systems.  相似文献

The problem of whether the cell cycle is a deterministic or probabilistic process is widely discussed in the current literature (P. Nurse, Nature, 286, pp. 9–10, 1980). In this report the question of fluctuations of cell cycle period is treated in the limits of the membrane model of cell division regulation. The parametric analysis of the equations set both for normal and tumour cells is carried out. We describe the bifurcation parameters in the neighbourhood of which the system can amplify the small fluctuations. The presence of white noise in parameters describing the lipids and antioxidants influxes into membrane is examined by methods of Marcovian processes and also by direct stochastic computer simulation. The equation for the distribution function of generation times is obtained and the increase of dispersion and mean cycle time during the changes of those parameters which would be connected with cell culture density is calculated.The influence of parameter fluctuations upon the cycle period for both normal and tumour cells is compared in the framework of model assumptions. The ratio of dispersion of generation time distribution to mean period value for an ensemble of tumour cells is shown to be several times greater than that for normal ones.In the discussion the problem of the presence of a premitotical (G02) resting state and of the possibility of its experimental detection is considered.  相似文献

Acetylcholine does not change the activity of Na, K-ATPase isolated from pig kidney. The enzyme is shown to have insignificant acetylcholinesterase activity. It is suggested that Na, K-ATPase sensitivity to acetylcholine disappears in the course of enzyme purification and that acetylcholinesterase activity is extrinsic.  相似文献

We previously described an enrichment-immunoassay utilizing a T6 monoclonal antibody capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Here we evaluated it for the rapid screening for Salmonella in fishmeal obtained from the national Animal and Plant Quarantine service in the People's Republic of China. In this method, the number of Salmonella present is first expanded by appropriate enrichment cultures, and the pathogens are then directly detected by the T6 immunoassay. In a total of 94 enrichment cultures of fishmeal, we obtained an overall concordance of 98% between the results obtained in parallel by this method and by conventional test method. The positive prediction by this method was 92% and the negative prediction was 100%. The turn around time for the new test was 27 h which is a significant improvement from the turn around time exceeding 96 h required for the conventional test method. This test proved to be compatible with the routine work flow in the practical setting of a quarantine laboratory.  相似文献
