Fluorescent Pseudomonas sp. strain 267 promotes growth of nodulated clover plants under gnotobiotic conditions. In the growth conditions (60 M FeCl3), the production of siderophores of the pseudobactin-pyoverdin group was repressed. Plant growth enhancement results from secretion of B vitamins by Pseudomonas sp. strain 267. This was proven by stimulation of clover growth by naturally auxotrophic strains of Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. trifolii and marker strains E. coli thi- and R. meliloti pan- in the presence of the supernatant of Pseudomonas sp. strain 267. The addition of vitamins to the plant medium increased symbiotic nitrogen fixation by the clover plants.  相似文献

Conidiobolus coronatus is an entomopathogenic fungus which has a potential as a biological control agent of insects. The cuticular and internal lipid composition of infected and noninfected Tettigonia viridissima males were analyzed by GC/MS. A total of 49 compounds were identified in the infected and noninfected males, including fatty acids, fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs), n‐alkanes, alcohols, sterols, and other organic compounds. The most abundant components of the cuticular and internal lipids of the insects were fatty acids. After exposure to C. coronatus, the cuticular lipids of the T. viridissima males contained 17 free fatty acids from C(8) to C(22), while the cuticular lipids of the noninfected insects contained only 15 fatty acids from C(12) to C(24). The cuticular and internal lipids of both the infected and the noninfected males also contained five FAMEs from C(15) to C(19), seven n‐alkanes from C(25) to C(34), five alcohols from C(16) to C(25), five sterols, and the following six other organic compounds: azelaic acid, phenylacetic acid, glutaric acid, benzoic acid, sebacic acid, and glycerol. The compounds which were present only in the cuticular lipids of the infected males could be due to fungal infection.  相似文献

Acclimation of winter oilseed plants in the cold (i.e. at temperatures >0 degrees C) followed by short exposure to sub-lethal freezing temperatures resulted in pronounced ultrastructural changes of leaf epidermal and mesophyll cells. The following major changes were observed upon acclimation at 2 degrees C: increased thickness of cell walls; numerous invaginations of plasma membranes; the appearance of many large vesicles localized in the cytoplasm in close proximity to the central vacuole; the occurrence of abundant populations of microvesicles associated with the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) cisternae or located in the vicinity of dictyosomes; and the occurrence of paramural bodies and myelin-like structures. In addition, large phenolic deposits were observed in the vicinity of the plasma membrane and membrane-bound organelles such as chloroplasts, large vesicles or cytoplasm/tonoplast interfaces. Transient freezing (-5 degrees C for 18 h) of the cold-acclimated leaves led to reversible disorganization of the cytoplasm and to pronounced structural changes of the cellular organelles. Chloroplasts were swollen, with the stroma occupying one half of their volume and the thylakoid system being displaced to the other half. Large phenolic aggregates disappeared but distinct layers of phenolic deposits were associated with mitochondrial membranes and with chloroplast envelopes. In frost-thawed cells recovered at 2 degrees C for 24 h, dictyosomes and dictyosome- or ER-derived small vesicles reappeared in the ribosome-rich cytoplasm. Aberrations in the structure of chloroplasts and mitochondria were less pronounced. Few phenolic deposits were seen as small grains associated with chloroplast envelopes and vesicle membranes. These observations demonstrate that plants undergo different changes in cell ultrastructure depending on whether they are subjected to chilling or freezing temperatures. Results are discussed in relation to membrane recycling and the possible role of phenolics during the first and second stages of plant acclimation at low temperature.  相似文献

Thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI) is a plasma zymogene (procarboxypeptidase B) which can decrease fibrinolysis and thus act as a haemostatic factor. TAFI is now extensively studied in many complications as well as in physiological and complicated pregnancy. The question we posed in the present study was whether TAFI antigen is present in cord blood plasma. The study group consisted of 38 parturient women, 26 primiparous and 12 multiparous with normal course of pregnancy and delivery. The cord blood was sampled from the cord vein, and the mother's blood from the antecubital vein. 3.2% sodium citrate was used as an anticoagulant. TAFIa/ai antigen was measured by ELISA method. TAFIa/ai antigen was identified in all samples of cord blood plasma. Its level was 91.50 ng/ml (range: 71.76 - 160.77 ng/ml) vs. 55.46 ng/ml (range: 39.77 - 68.54 ng/ml ) in the mother's blood, which means that the level of TAFIa/ai antigen was significantly higher in fetal blood than in maternal blood (p<0.00001). TAFIa/ai antigen is an integral component of cord blood plasma. The concentration of TAFIa/ai antigen is about two times higher in fetal blood than in maternal blood.  相似文献

INTRODUCTION: Basal leptin level has been demonstrated to correlate positively with many indices of obesity, as well as insulin resistance. However, to date, little is known about regulation of leptin in obese children with incipient glucose metabolic disorders. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to define the precise influence of the glucose tolerance status on plasma leptin in obese boys and girls separately. MATERIAL AND METHODS: 70 obese children with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and well-matched 70 normal glucose-tolerant (NGT) subjects were examined. Fasting and 2-h post glucose load plasma glucose and insulin levels as well as fasting leptin levels were determined, apart from anthropometric measurements. RESULTS: Leptin levels were significantly lower in girls with IGT compared to NGT girl (17.7+/-6.5 microg/L vs. 23.1+/-7.7 microg/L; p<.001). No such difference was observed in boys. In a multiple regression analysis adjusting for age and adiposity, in the female group plasma glucose and insulin levels 2-h after glucose load were the best predictors of fasting plasma leptin (r=-0.49, p<.005 and r=0.34, p<.05; respectively). In boys, plasma insulin level 2-h after glucose load was the independent determinant of leptin (r=0.36, p<.05). CONCLUSION: The differences between regulation of leptin synthesis in girls and boys with simple obesity were found. The stimulatory effect of insulin on leptin synthesis was greater in girls with normoglycemia than in girls with impaired glucose tolerance.  相似文献

A selected panel of 13 colonies of entomopathogenic fungus Conidiobolus coronatus representing 6 variants of pathogenicity to Galleria mellonella larvae (ranged from 100 to 10% of efficiency), derived from single spores, were tested for the presence of hypervariable loci in their genomes by hybridization with Jeffreys' human minisatellite probe 33.6. The probe produced informative fingerprints and revealed slight differences among colonies analyzed. Up to 20 variable bands per colony were recognized in the size range of 2-20 kb. The band sharing within groups with the same pathogenicity ranged from 0.966 to 0.800. The genetic distance between different variants ranged from 0.026 to 0.282. A few characteristic bands for high and low pathogenicity to the larvae were found.  相似文献

The effects of Asahi SL (sodium ortho and para-nitro phenolate, sodium 5 nitro guaiacolate) sprays on China aster plant height, seed yield and some metabolic events were investigated. The plants were sprayed with Asahi SL, in concentration of 0, 0.1, 0.2 or 0.4 %, three times before or during flowering, and six times before and during this stage. It was found that Asahi SL applied three times during flowering brought about an increase in the seed yield, germination and metabolic activity and did not modify vegetative growth of plants. The chemical used earlier, before flowering, had detrimental effect on seed yield and quality, although it stimulated vegetative growth. The positive effect of Asahi SL was more prominent in weather conditions unfavourable for seed production.  相似文献

1. Methods are described for selective estimation of thiols, disulphides and thiol esters in standard solutions and in serum. The methods are based on the reaction with the excess of o-hydroxymercuribenzoic acid (HMB) in alkaline solution with subsequent addition of dithiofluorescein in excess and determination of the extinction at 588mmu. The sensitivity of the methods amounts to 1.5x10(-9)g.equiv. in 5ml. of final solution. Of results obtained on standard solutions 80% have the errors within the range +/-4%. 2. It has been found that serum contains an unidentified substance (substance X) producing green complexes with dithiofluorescein which undergo decomposition on addition of formaldehyde. The correction for substance X must be estimated in a separate sample and taken into account. The concentration of substance X can be calculated from extinctions measured at 588mmu and 635mmu in the presence of dithiofluorescein in excess. 3. The selective determination of thiols and disulphides is based on different reaction rates with formaldehyde. The complexes between HMB and cysteine can be selectively decomposed by formaldehyde, and free glutathione can be selectively removed by formaldehyde in the presence of protein thiols. 4. Thiols are determined in the presence of triethylamine, thiols plus disulphides in the presence of triethylamine and sulphite, and thiols plus thiol esters in the presence of dimethylamine, with subsequent addition of ammonium sulphate.  相似文献
