Application of computer analysis to ESR spectra of maleimide spin labels in erythrocyte ghosts and ESR spectra of "spin sacks"--erythrocyte ghosts and liposomes containing concentrated solution of non-penetrating spin label was described. The analysis of the ESR spectra of spin labels gives exhausting information about the parameters of spin hamiltonian, peculiarities of the movement of nitroxyl radicals and their distribution between the cell and medium.  相似文献

Summary The use of reticulated polyurethane foam as a support material for the immobilization of methanogenic associations and its application to the anaerobic treatment of fine particulate solid wastes was investigated. The colonization of polyurethane support particles in a continuous upflow reactor fed on a mixture of acetate, propionate and butyrate, was both rapid and dense. The combination of rumen microorganisms and colonized support particles in a two-phase digester resulted in an efficient anaerobic decomposition of papermill sludge.  相似文献

The content of cytochrome P450 and monooxygenase activity has been studied in the liver of Baikal fishes (Coregonus automnalis, Thymallus articus, Brachymystax lenok and Cottocomphorus greminsky). The administration of 3-methylcholanthrene increases considerably the level of metabolic activity of microsomal fraction and cytochrome P450 content in liver. The data of microsomal fractions of rats and fishes liver electrophoresis have shown that xenobiotic causes the synthesis of similar according to the molecular weight forms of cytochrome P450 in these animals. The induction of microsomal monooxygenase inhibits the lipid peroxidation of microsomal fraction.  相似文献

Summary This communication reports the observation of synergistic relationships between ultrasound and gamma-irradiation of stationary phase cultures ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae of different strains. The gamma-ray dose was applied before or after the sound. The extent of synergism depended upon the sequence of application; it was smaller for (US +-ray)-exposure in comparison with (-ray + US)-treatment. The combined action of both modalities had smaller or no synergistic effect for mutant (rad51) yeast cells incapable of recovery. On this basis, it was concluded that possible mechanisms for ultrasound radiosensitization of yeast cells may involve the reduced capacity of cells to recover damages resulted from the combined action and/or the enhanced expression of lethal damage.  相似文献

Here we describe a method of forming large arrays (up to 109 pieces) of free magnetic Ni-nanodisks 50 nm thick coated on both sides with layers of 5 nm thick Au. The antitumor effect of the magnetic nickel gold-coated nanodisks and DNA aptamer conjugates was evaluated in vivo and in vitro. Under the influence of rotating magnetic field, the studied nanodisks can cause the death of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells.  相似文献

Materials have been generalized that were accumulated in population-ontogenetic studies of plants and leading features of the ontogeny of plants have been noted that determine specific structural features of their populations. The described patterns allowed the authors to develop simulation models of plant population dynamics. The results of simulation are provided, and they are compared to the empirical data. Problems have been considered that concern the influence of specific features of development of different plant biomorphs on the genetic structure of populations and biocoenotic processes.  相似文献

Cardioprotection by Mg Sulfate (MgSO4) during ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) is attributed largely to the Mg2+ cation. However, Mg-gluconate (MgGl2) may provide added benefit, possibly through its anion's antioxidant properties. Protective effects of both Mg-salts and their anions during 30 min global I and 50 min R were assessed in Langendorff-perfused (Krebs-Henseleit buffer) rat hearts. Recovery of function was compared between untreated hearts and those receiving supplement (2.4 mM MgGl2, MgSO4, or Na2SO4, or 4.8 mM NaGI) for 5 min prior to I and during the initial 30 min R. The final 20 min R was conducted without supplement. End diastolic pressure (EDP, mmHg) of the 50 min reperfused MgGl2 group (2.6) was lower than MgSO4 (16.2) and untreated (35.6) groups, and the NaGI group (25.2) was considerably lower than Na2SO4 (38.8). Recovery of developed pressure (% preischemic DP) at the onset of R for MgGl2 (74.9) was greater than MgSO4 (37.9) and untreated (33.2). After 50 min, MgGl2 (77.9) and MgSO4 (66.9) provided protection compared to untreated (51.8). In separate studies, ESR spin trapping with alpha-phenyl-N-tert-butylnitrone (3 mM PBN) showed that I/R alkoxyl radical production was reduced with MgGl2 (0.0 vs. 2.4 vs. 3.6 mM: 184 vs. 97 vs. 54.8 nM/g tissue x min) to a greater extent than seen with MgSO4 (3.6 mM: 108). Additional studies suggest that Gl(1-), unlike SO4(2-), may scavenge hydroxyl radicals, accounting for the added protection. MgGl2 treated hearts exhibited less postischemic dysfunction and oxidative injury compared to MgSO4, suggesting the contribution of Gl(1-) to cardioprotection.  相似文献

The report describes a method for tracing nitric oxide (NO) distribution in endotoxin-treated mice using in vivo low-frequency L-band (1.1 GHz) electron spin resonance spectroscopy (ESR) in combination with extracellular nitric oxide trapping complex consisting of N-methyl-D-glucamine dithiocarbamate and iron (MGD-Fe). An ESR signal characteristic of the MGD-Fe-NO complex was found in the upper abdomen (liver region), lower abdomen and head region of ICR mice. The origin of NO from the L-arginine-NO synthase (NOS) pathway was confirmed using the NOS inhibitor N(G)-monomethyl-L-arginine (NMMA) and isotopic tracing experiments with 15N-labelled L-arginine. Experiments with mice lacking inducible NOS (iNOS) and matched wild type animals were performed using the NO trapping agent diethyldithiocarbamate (DETC). These experiments demonstrated that endotoxin-induced NO generation in the liver tissue of mice occurs via the iNOS isoform of NOS. The described in vivo ESR technique using a "whole body" resonator allows in vivo on-line detection of endogenous NO in mice.  相似文献
