Tunable triple-peaks with the transmission intensity of more than 90% plasmonically induced transparency metamaterial resonator based on nested double π-shaped metallic structure is proposed at the terahertz frequency region, which is consisted of three sets of gold nanorods with different sizes placed on a dielectric substrate of SiO2. The coupling effect of localized electric field between different parts of the proposed structure can be used to explain the physical mechanism of three transparent windows. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) is used to study the spectral properties of the proposed structure, and the influence of the size of the nanorods and the relative distance between them on the spectral characteristics are also discussed. It can be seen that some obvious shift phenomena occur in the spectra with the change of these nanorods. These results indicate that the proposed structure opens up new avenues in many related applications, especially for multi-channel filters, optical switches, and sensors.
Photosystem II (PSII) functions mainly as a dimer to catalyze the light energy conversion and water oxidation reactions. However, monomeric PSII also exists and functions in vivo in some cases. The crystal structure of monomeric PSII has been solved at 3.6 Å resolution, but it is still not clear which factors contribute to the formation of the dimer. Here, we solved the structure of PSII monomer at a resolution of 2.78 Å using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). From our cryo-EM density map, we observed apparent differences in pigments and lipids in the monomer-monomer interface between the PSII monomer and dimer. One β-carotene and two sulfoquinovosyl diacylglycerol (SQDG) molecules are found in the monomer-monomer interface of the dimer structure but not in the present monomer structure, although some SQDG and other lipid molecules are found in the analogous region of the low-resolution crystal structure of the monomer, or cryo-EM structure of an apo-PSII monomer lacking the extrinsic proteins from Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803. In the current monomer structure, a large part of the PsbO subunit was also found to be disordered. Growing studies have emerged on adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), which hold the potential for cell-based therapy in diseased injured hearts. Apart from their differentiation pluripotency, such benefits also result from the ability of paracrine. The results of this study showed that after a 24-h hypoxia culture, ADSCs secreted amplified quantities of hepatocyte growth factor, interleukin-1, vascular endothelial growth factor-A, fibroblast growth factor-2, and transforming growth factor-β, all of which increased statistically compared with normoxia cultures. Resultantly, conditioned media (CM) from hypoxia-treated ADSCs can promptly improve cardiac function in in vivo infarction model as well as ameliorate apoptosis of cardiomyocytes subjected to hypoxia/reoxygenation conditions, accompanied by changes of JNK signal activation. While SP600125, a specific JNK pathway inhibitor, partly decreased cardiac cytoprotection assessed by incremental caspase-3 activation and subsequent TUNEL index, which led to no significantly different outcome between CM from ADSCs in normoxia culture and those in hypoxia culture. These data suggested that, in response to hypoxia, ADSCs could amplify expression of several protective soluble factors, which mediate direct cytoprotection. Furthermore, the improvement for impaired cardiomyocytes treated by hypoxia-induced ADSCs-CM was significant in part because of the involvement of the JNK signal pathway. In otherwise non-autoimmune-prone C57BL/6 (B6) mice rendered genetically deficient in CD152 (CTLA-4), polyclonal hypergammaglobulinemia with increased levels of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)-associated IgG autoantibodies, glomerular IgG and C3 deposition, and interstitial nephritis all developed by 3-5 wk of age. Remarkably, superimposing genetic deficiency of BAFF (B cell-activating factor belonging to the TNF family) onto CD152 deficiency did not substantially attenuate humoral autoimmunity and immunopathology in these mice, despite the resulting marked reduction in B-lineage cells. Although superimposing a BAFF transgene (resulting in constitutive BAFF overexpression) onto CD152-deficient mice did lead to increases in B-lineage cells and serum levels of certain SLE-associated IgG autoantibodies, renal immunopathology remained largely unaffected. Taken together, these results demonstrate that global T cell dysregulation, even in an otherwise non-autoimmune-prone host, can promote systemic humoral autoimmunity and immunopathology in a BAFF-independent manner. Moreover, supraphysiologic expression of BAFF in the setting of ongoing autoimmunity does not necessarily lead to greater immunopathology. The interaction between pyridoxine hydrochloride (VB6) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) were studied by spectroscopic methods including fluorescence spectroscopy and UV-visible absorption spectra. The quenching mechanism of fluorescence of BSA by VB6 was discussed. The number of binding sites n and observed binding constant K(b) was measured by fluorescence quenching method. The thermodynamic parameters DeltaH(theta), DeltaG(theta), DeltaS(theta) at different temperatures were calculated and the results indicate the binding reaction is mainly entropy-driven and hydrophobic interaction played major role in the reaction. The distance r between donor (BSA) and acceptor (VB6) was obtained according to FOrster theory of non-radiation energy transfer. Synchronous fluorescence and three-dimensional fluorescence spectra were used to investigate the structural change of BSA molecules with addition of VB6, the result indicates that the secondary structure of BSA molecules is changed in the presence of VB6. 相似文献
Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers are very useful for genetic applications in plants, but SSR resource for the important tree genus Casuarina L. ex Adans. is still limited. In this study, we report a novel set of 223 SSR markers in Casuarina developed from expressed sequence tag (EST) resource of GenBank. The 223 EST-SSR markers were polymorphic among 10 unrelated individuals of C. equisetifolia L. Johnson, with the number of alleles per locus (Na), observed heterozygosity (Ho), expected heterozygosity (He), and polymorphic information content (PIC) averaging at 5.5, 0.72, 0.86, and 0.63, respectively. The rates of cross-species transferability ranged from 96.9% (C. glauca Sieber ex Sprengel) through 97.8% (C. cunninghamiana Miquel) to 99.1% (C. junghuhniana Miquel). Fifty-five C. equisetifolia clones widely planted in China were successfully genotyped with a subset of 20 EST-SSRs. These newly developed markers will have a great potential for genetic and breeding applications in Casuarina species and related taxa. 相似文献
