Over the past year, several significant developments have been made in the field of anion binding. The fundamental principles of molecular recognition are increasingly being better understood, and of particular interest are reports of several synthetic anion receptors able to perform their task in complex natural media. The population dynamics of Heterodera glycines as influenced by alachlor, fenamiphos, and ethoprop alone and in herbicide-nematicide combinations were studied in the field. Numbers of H. glycines juveniles and eggs were higher at midseason and harvest where nematicides were applied. Fenamiphos alone or in combination with alachlor provided better control of H. glycines and greater seed yields than treatments with ethoprop. Numbers of H. glycines eggs at harvest in 1980 were positively correlated with numbers of juveniles at planting in 1981 and negatively related to seed yield in 1981.  相似文献

Methyl 3-azido-2-O-benzoyl-3,4-dideoxy-β-dl-erythro-pentopyranoside (6) was synthesized through two routes in five steps from methyl 2,3-anhydro-4-deoxy-β-dl-erythro-pentopyranoside (1). The first route proceeded via selective azide displacement of the 3-tosyloxy group of methyl 4-deoxy-2,3-di-O-tosyl-α-dl-threo-pentopyranoside, followed by detosylation and benzoylation. The second route consisted, with a better overall yield, in the azide displacement of the mesyloxy group of methyl O-benzoyl-4-deoxy-3-O-methylsulfonyl-α-dl-threo-pentopyranoside (10), obtained by benzylate opening of 1, followed by benzoylation, debenzylation, and mesylation. Compound 6 was transformed into its glycosyl chloride, further treated by 6-chloropurine to give the nucleoside 9-(3-azido-2-O-benzoyl-3,4-dideoxy-β-dl-erythro-pentopyranosyl)-6-chloropurine (13). When treated with propanolic ammonia, 13 yielded 9-(3-azido-3,4-dideoxy-β-dl-erythro-pentopyranosyl)adenine.  相似文献

The 5 to 10 peritrichously inserted complex flagella of Rhizobium meliloti MVII-1 were found to form right-handed flagellar bundles. Bacteria swam at speeds up to 60 microns/s, their random three-dimensional walk consisting of straight runs and quick directional changes (turns) without the vigorous angular motion (tumbling) seen in swimming Escherichia coli cells. Observations of R. meliloti cells tethered by a single flagellar filament revealed that flagellar rotation was exclusively clockwise, interrupted by very brief stops (shorter than 0.1 s), typically every 1 to 2 s. Swimming bacteria responded to chemotactic stimuli by extending their runs, and tethered bacteria responded by prolonged intervals of clockwise rotation. Moreover, the motility tracks of a generally nonchemotactic ("smooth") mutant consisted of long runs without sharp turns, and tethered mutant cells showed continuous clockwise rotation without detectable stops. These observations suggested that the runs of swimming cells correspond to clockwise flagellar rotation, and the turns correspond to the brief rotation stops. We propose that single rotating flagella (depending on their insertion point on the rod-shaped bacterial surface) can reorient a swimming cell whenever the majority of flagellar motors stop.  相似文献
