Morphological and genetic variation at microsatellite loci of Caucasian shrew Sorex satunini Ogn. is examined and compared with that of the common shrew S. araneus L. Genetic distance at microsatellite loci between the common shrew and Caucasian shrew proved to be threefold higher than
between chromosome races of the common shrew. The Caucasian shrew manifested low polymorphism in studies of both microsatellites

The article deals with the influence of meteorological factors on the activity of the taiga tick Ixodes persulcatus Sch. in the city of St. Petersburg and its environs. The results of correlation analysis of meteorological data (21 parameters) and tick collection data for 1980-2012 demonstrated a linear dependence between 11 meteorological parameters and the mean abundance of ticks. Factor analysis reduced dimensionality down to 3 parameters: the accumulated temperatures higher than +5.0°C, the annual sum of daily precipitation amounts greater than 5 mm, and Selyaninov’s hydrothermal coefficient. It was shown that, while the mean abundance of active ticks in the studied territories tended to decrease, correlation between the abundance of ticks and meteorological parameters varied significantly in both intensity and direction depending on the microclimatic features of the collection sites. At low annual variation of the mean tick abundance, the methods of collection can significantly affect the results of statistical analysis. This fact should be taken into account when predicting both the timing and the intensity of the epidemiological season. 相似文献

The new Mayak Worker Dosimetry System 2008 (MWDS-2008) was published in 2013 and supersedes the Doses-2005 dosimetry system for Mayak Production Association (PA) workers. It provides revised external and internal dose estimates based on the updated occupational history data. Using MWDS-2008, a cohort of 18,856 workers first employed at one of the main Mayak PA plants during 1948–1972 and followed up to 2005 was identified. Incidence and mortality risks from ischemic heart disease (IHD) (International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-9 codes 410–414) and from cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) (ICD-9 codes 430–438) were examined in this cohort and compared with previously published risk estimates in the same cohort based on the Doses-2005 dosimetry system. Significant associations were observed between doses from external gamma-rays and IHD and CVD incidence and also between internal doses from alpha-radiation and IHD mortality and CVD incidence. The estimates of excess relative risk (ERR)/Gy were consistent with those estimates from the previous studies based on Doses-2005 system apart from the relationship between CVD incidence and internal liver dose where the ERR/Gy based on MWDS-2008 was just over three times higher than the corresponding estimate based on Doses-2005 system. Adjustment for smoking status did not show any effect on the estimates of risk from internal alpha-particle exposure. 相似文献

We present an updated analysis of incidence and mortality from atherosclerotic induced ischemic heart diseases in the cohort of workers at the Mayak Production Association (PA). This cohort constitutes one of the most important sources for the assessment of radiation risk. It is exceptional because it comprises information on several other risk factors. While most of the workers have been exposed to external gamma radiation, a large proportion has additionally been exposed to internal radiation from inhaled plutonium. Compared to a previous study by Azizova et al. 2012, the updated dosimetry system MWDS-2008 has been applied and methods of analysis have been revised. We extend the analysis of the significant incidence risk and observe that main detrimental effects of external radiation exposure occur after more than about 30 years. For mortality, significant risk was found in males with an excess relative risk per dose of 0.09 (95% CI: 0.02; 0.16) while risk was insignificant for females. With respect to internal radiation exposure no association to risk could be established. 相似文献

The search and research of pharmacological agents that could combine lipid-lowering and antithrombotic effects on the human organism are one of the most urgent and important tasks of modern biological and medical research. The unique effects of the regulatory peptides of the oxoproline series (5-охо-Pro- His-Pro-NH2, 5-oxo-Pro-Trp-Pro, and 5-oxo-Pro-Arg-Pro or Pyr-His-Pro-NH2, Pyr-Trp-Pro, and Pyr- Arg-Pro) synthesized by the methods of classical peptide chemistry have been found in animals with experimental hypercholesterolemia. Repeated intranasal administration of these peptides to animals with developed hypercholesterolemia increased their anticoagulant, fibrinolytic and antiplatelet potential of the blood and simultaneously lowered increased concentrations of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides. In addition, they promoted normalization of blood glucose. A week after the last administration of these peptides, the hypocholesterolemic, normoglycemic and anticoagulant effects persisted. The relationship between the structure of the oxoproline-containing peptides and their functional properties is discussed. It is concluded that further studies of oxoproline-containing peptides are promising in the context of development of pharmacological agents, combining the antithrombotic activity with the improvement of lipid metabolism in the body. 相似文献

The seasonality of epidemic and epizootic processes of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) and borreliosis among the populations of Ixodes persulcatus and Ixodes pavlovskyi ticks was studied. The study was carried out in 2011–2012 on the flatland part of Toguchin and in the vicinities of Akademgorodok in Novosibirsk, on the border between the forest and forest-steppe zones of the Ob region. The results obtained for I. persulcatus did not contradict the previously published studies. The starting point and peak of mass activity of I. pavlovskyi ticks were registered later (the last ten days of May) than that of I. persulcatus ticks. Seasonal variations in the physiological age of I. pavlovskyi ticks were similar to that of I. persulcatus ticks. The only exception to this was detected in the last ten days of April when young specimens prevailed in the population of I. pavlovsky ticks in contrast to the I. persulcatus population. The large influence of I. persulcatus on the circulation of TBE was shown, as well as the influence of I. pavlovskyi on the spreading of Borrelia burgdorferi s.l. 相似文献
