In central Italy, Prunus cerasus var. austera is cultivated as small stands or scattered trees in marginal areas for the production of jam and wine. Thanks to the healthy attributes of its products and its ability to grow in different environmental conditions, this variety has gained new interest in the development of marginal areas. We assessed the level of the genetic variability of P. cerasus var. austera germplasm from central Italy and identified a ‘core collection’ representative of the present genetic diversity. A total of 161 trees, morphologically identified as var. austera, and one tree, identified as var. caproniana were collected and genotyped by 14 SSRs. Two individuals provided by a commercial plant nursery, one of P. cerasus var. caproniana and one of P. cerasus var. austera, were used as control. Thirteen SSRs presented private alleles in austera. Seven individuals morphologically identified as austera revealed private alleles specific to caproniana. The PCoA and Bayesian clustering analysis showed a main genetic group including var. austera, while a second group included all the caproniana-like genotypes. A core collection of 31 trees (46% of austera genotypes) was selected. This study can be considered as a starting point for future investigations on this variety.  相似文献

Summary 2-Phenylethanol and 2-phenylethylacetate important aroma components are obtained in substantial amounts whenHansenula anomala CBS 110 andKloeckera saturnus CBS 5761 are grown with L-phenylalanine as sole nitrogen source. Up to 2 g/L of mixtures of alcohol and ester are obtained. While in the first microorganism the alcohol predominates, in the second the acetate is formed almost exclusively. Experiments with 1-13C-d-Glucose show complete incorporation of the label into the methyl group of the acetate.  相似文献

We studied the periaqueductal gray matter (PAG) in cresyl-violet-stained serial sections from 5 cats applying quantitative determinations. No significant variations were observed in the cytological aspects in the various sites examined (lateral, ventral and dorsal regions, and external and internal portions). The neuronal density was constant in the different regions, but showed a gradual and significant increase in the most external regions of the PAG. Our findings do not, therefore, confirm the existence in the PAG of subnuclei with a specific cytoarchitecture; this does not, however, rule out the possibility that there are specific regions for connections, histochemical properties or functions.  相似文献

Three amino acid-containing fractions present in human plasma are shown to bind both leu and met-enkephalin: serum albumin and two species of a much lower molecular weight, in all likelihood polypeptides. The amount of enkephalin associated with serum albumin seems comparatively smaller than that associated with the two low molecular weight systems. These systems jointly are apparently capable of binding a significant part of the circulating enkephalins. The possibility is suggested that the interactions described may play a role in maintaining the integrity of circulating enkephalins.  相似文献

Summary The amino acid L-lysine was produced from auxotrophic-regulatory mutants ofBacillus stearothermophilus at a temperature of 60–65°C. One of the mutants (AEC 12 A5, S-(2-aminoethyl)-cysteiner, homoserine), produced L-lysine at the concentration of 7.5 g/l in shaken flasks in minimal medium containing 5% glucose. Culture conditions for optimizing L-lysine production were not investigated. The aspartokinase activity of the wild strainB. stearothermophilus Zu 183 was inhibited by lysine alone and by threonine plus lysine. AEC resistant mutants showed an aspartokinase activity genetically desensitized to the feedback inhibition. Optimal temperature and pH of aspartokinase were 45°C and 9.5, respectively. The data provide significant evidence that mutants of the speciesB. stearothermophilus have a potential value for amino acid production.  相似文献

Interlocked challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and land degradation require transformative interventions in the land management and food production sectors to reduce carbon emissions, strengthen adaptive capacity, and increase food security. However, deciding which interventions to pursue and understanding their relative co‐benefits with and trade‐offs against different social and environmental goals have been difficult without comparisons across a range of possible actions. This study examined 40 different options, implemented through land management, value chains, or risk management, for their relative impacts across 18 Nature's Contributions to People (NCPs) and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We find that a relatively small number of interventions show positive synergies with both SDGs and NCPs with no significant adverse trade‐offs; these include improved cropland management, improved grazing land management, improved livestock management, agroforestry, integrated water management, increased soil organic carbon content, reduced soil erosion, salinization, and compaction, fire management, reduced landslides and hazards, reduced pollution, reduced post‐harvest losses, improved energy use in food systems, and disaster risk management. Several interventions show potentially significant negative impacts on both SDGs and NCPs; these include bioenergy and bioenergy with carbon capture and storage, afforestation, and some risk sharing measures, like commercial crop insurance. Our results demonstrate that a better understanding of co‐benefits and trade‐offs of different policy approaches can help decision‐makers choose the more effective, or at the very minimum, more benign interventions for implementation.  相似文献
