Data for the flavonoids of 19 species in 10 sections of Ludwigia are presented. Eight flavonoids, comprising four glycoflavones, of which vitexin and isovitexin are reported for the first time in Ludwigia, and four flavonol glycosides, based on quercetin, are present in these species. Each section treated here has either glycoflavones or flavonols; presence of only onte class is considered to be advanced in the genus as a whole, compared with the presence of both glycoflavones and flavonols in the more generalized sects Myrtocarpus Cinerascentes, and Pterocaulon, which were examined earlier. Only glycoflavones are present in sects Macrocarpon (four species), Seminuda (five species), the ditypic African sect. Africana, the monotypic African sects Brenania, Cryptosperma, and Prieurea, the monotypic east Asian sect. Nipponia, and the monotypic pantropical section Fissendocarpa. Only flavonols are present in the monotypic Old Wodd section Caryophylloidea and sect. Oligospermum, which comprises nine species widespread in the OId and New Worlds.  相似文献

The CSF and sera of 7 patients with Parkinson's disease were investigated immunocytochemically, in order to see if antibodies were present which recognized DA-ergic cell bodies in glutaraldehyde fixed rat brain. In 2 patients a marked labeling of DA-ergic neurons in the substantia nigra was observed, identified by anti-DA antiserum and by 6-OHDA induced degeneration, but also other neurons in the ventral mesencephalon were recognized. The other patients were weakly positive or negative. Sera gave unspecific labelling of all neurons. In one patient the sub-classes of IgG were investigated and found to be of IgG3 (labeling nerve terminals) and of IgG1–2, low affinity type (recognizing perikarya). The epitopes recognized have not been identified, but are unlikely to be DA-like, since blocking experiments and ELISA-tests gave negative results. Mixing patterns in Amazon lakes   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0  
The diel mixing patterns of two small floodplain lakes, Lago Jacaretinga in the Amazon drainage, and Lago Cristalino in the Rio Negro system, were investigated during both the high-water and low-water states of the Amazon River hydrograph. Measurements included temperature, oxygen, ammonia, phosphate, and chlorophyll. In both lakes thermal stratification developed during the day and was eroded at night. During the low-water period when the lakes were shallow, nocturnal circulation extended to the lake bottom, whereas when the lakes were deeper (greater than about 5 m), circulation did not reach the bottom and an anoxic hypolimnion developed. During the low-water period, percent of oxygen concentrations were relatively high but always less than saturation. Low oxygen concentrations were observed during the high-water period. At all times nocturnal mixing supplied a significant amount of oxygen to the lake ecosystems. Nighttime upward mixing of recycled nitrogen and phosphorus also appeared to be important nutrient sources for algal productivity.  相似文献

Chromosomal polymorphism regarding number of NOR sites in the cyprinid fish Chondrostoma lusitanicum was examined using C-banding, silver-staining (Ag), and fluorescent staining with chromomycin A3 (CMA3). The analysis of heterochromatic regions allowed a more precise identification of the centromeric regions and the proposal of a revised haploid chromosome formula (7M: 15S: 3A). We describe variability in the number of NOR regions per genome, number of active NOR sites per cell, and relative size of individual NORs. Individuals expressed two or four NOR-bearing chromosomes. Polymorphism was detected in all the populations studied and sex-related differences were not found. The observed chromosomal NOR phenotypes suggest the occurrence of structural rearrangements during the evolutionary process of this diploid leuciscine cyprinid.  相似文献

Abstract: Bradykinin receptors have been subdivided into at least two major pharmacological subtypes, B1 and B2. The cDNAs encoding functional B2 receptors have recently been cloned, but no molecular information exists at present on the B1 receptor. In this article, we describe experiments examining the possible relationship between the mRNAs encoding the B1 and B2 types of receptor. We showed previously that the Human fibroblast cell line W138 expresses both B1 and B2 receptors. In this report, we describe oocyte expression experiments showing that the B1 receptor in W138 human fibroblast cells is encoded by a distinct mRNA ∼2 kb shorter than that encoding the B2 receptor. We have used an antisense approach in conjunction with the oocyte expression system to demonstrate that the two messages differ in sequence at several locations throughout the length of the B2 sequence. Taken together with the mixed pharmacology exhibited in some expression systems by the cloned mouse receptor, the data indicate that B1-type pharmacology may arise from two independent molecular mechanisms.  相似文献

Summary Sexuals ofFormica lugubris fly to mating places, where females attract males by using a sex pheromone. Females collected on the nest surface before departing on a mating flight are much less attractive than those collected on the mating place after the mating flight, suggesting that the mating flight triggers the release of the sex pheromone. Olfactory cues are essential for males to locate females while they patrol. Males probably use visual cues to locate females once they have alighted nearby them. Males are also attracted by aggregations of other males on the ground, probably because one or several females are likely to be close to male aggregations.  相似文献

Summary The application of anti-prostaglandin E2 immunoglobulin to plastic-embedded thin sections of the rat ileum has permitted the localization of prostaglandin E2 in this tissue. In agreement with the published data (Chock & Schmauder-Chock (1988), Schmauder-Chock & Chock (1989)), the results also suggest the presence of an arachidonic acid cascade in the granules of various secretory cells of the gut. Since antibody labelling was found within the secretory granules of connective tissue mast cells, goblet cells, and Paneth cells, the presence of the arachidonic acid cascade in these granules is implied. The appearance of prostaglandin E2 over the non-cellular internal elastic lamina of arterioles suggests that it may have been secreted along with the elastin. The even distribution of prostaglandin throughout the cytoplasm of the erythrocyte is consistent with the concept that this cell scavenges the eicosanoid from the circulation. These data further link the secretorh granule to the production of eicosanoids and therefore illustrate the potential sources of prostaglandins in the rat ileum.  相似文献

Enzymes Related to Monoamine Transmitter Metabolism in Brain Microvessels   总被引:6,自引:6,他引:0  
The activities of tyrosine hydroxylase, aromatic L-aminoacid decarboxylase, monoamine oxidase, and catechol-O-methyltransferase were measured in microvessel (capillaries and venules), parenchymal arterioles, and pial vessels from rat brains, and the decarboxylase activity was compared in brain microvessels from rabbit, cat, dog, pig, cow, baboon, and man. Cranial sympathectomy was performed to estimate the neuronal contribution to the enzyme activities. All vascular regions had substantial activities of the various enzymes studied. The activity of aromatic L-aminoacid decarboxylase in cerebral microvessels was high in rat, dog, pig, cow, and man; intermediate in rabbit and cat; and low in baboon. In addition to this enzyme, cerebral microvessels also contained tyrosine hydroxylase and monoamine oxidase. Aromatic aminoacid decarboxylase and monoamine oxidase serve an enzymatic barrier function at the microvascular level, whereas the main function of tyrosine hydroxylase is probably to synthesize monoamines within nerve terminals that remain in close association with microvessels under the conditions used for preparation of the microvascular fraction. In larger intracerebral and pial vessels monoamine oxidase was present both in the wall itself and in perivascular sympathetic nerves; the remaining two enzymes had a primarily neuronal localization. The latter types of vessels also contained catechol-O-methyltransferase in their walls.  相似文献
