Amphetamine and chlorpromazine modify cerebral insulin levels in rats   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Rats treated with chlorpromazine (CPZ) (1 mg/kg/day i.p.) experienced a marked decline in cerebral insulin levels (0.057 +/- 0.01 ng/g wet weight) with respect to a control group (0.38 +/- 0.05 ng/g wet weight), while rats given D-amphetamine bitartrate (AMPH) chronically (20 mg/kg/day p.o.) showed a rise in cerebral insulin (0.55 +/- 0.04 ng/g wet weight). Combined treatment with both drugs at the same dosages produced lower cerebral insulin levels (0.46 +/- 0.10 ng/g wet weight) than in the AMPH animals. In the groups of rats treated with CPZ and with AMPH + CPZ, there was a slight elevation in serum insulin levels. Serum glucose values did not vary.  相似文献

Several indexes are used to determine the iron nutritional status of plants, but their effectiveness depends either on the plant growth conditions in natural environments or on the assay conditions. This research was conducted to test different indexes of the iron nutritional status of a hydroponic strawberry culture where treatments mainly differed in the source of the iron applied: Fe-EDTA, Fe-EDDHA and Fe-polyflavonoid. Macro and micronutrient concentrations in the nutrient solutions, leaf and vascular tissues were measured. Fe concentration in the nutrient solution during the course of the experiment was considered in relation to the stability of the different chelates. Both Fe concentration and total Fe content of leaves reflected the effect of the treatments; Fe/Mn ratio was significant as a diagnosis index. Other element ratios as P/Fe and K/Ca are not well related with the iron nutrition symptoms observed. Fe2+ concentration measured in leaves was not directly affected by the different chelate treatments.  相似文献

In this work, an integrated one-step alkaline–extrusion process was tested as pretreatment for sugar production from barley straw (BS) biomass. The influence of extrusion temperature (T) and the ratio NaOH/BS dry matter (w/w) (R) into the extruder on pretreatment effectiveness was investigated in a twin-screw extruder at bench scale. A 23 factorial design of experiments was used to analyze the effect of process conditions [T: 50–100 °C; R: 2.5–7.5% (w/w)] on composition and enzymatic digestibility of pretreated substrate (extrudate). The optimum conditions for a maximum glucan to glucose conversion were determined to be R = 6% and T = 68 °C. At these conditions, glucan yield reached close to 90% of theoretical, while xylan conversion was 71% of theoretical. These values are 5 and 9 times higher than that of the untreated material, which supports the great potential of this one-step combined pre-treatment technology for sugar production from lignocellulosic substrates. The absence of sugar degradation products is a relevant advantage over other traditional methods for a biomass to ethanol production process since inhibitory effect of such product on sugar fermentation would be prevented.  相似文献

All extant holocephalans (Chimaeroidei) have lost the ability to make individual teeth, as tooth germs are not part of the embryonic development of the dental plates or of their continuous growth. Instead, a hypermineralized dentine with a unique mineral, whitlockin, is specifically distributed within a dentine framework into structures that give the dental plates their distinctive, species-specific morphology. Control of the regulation of this distribution must be cellular, with a dental epithelium initiating the first outer dentine, and via contact with ectomesenchymal tissue as the only embryonic cell type that can make dentine. Chimaeroids have three pairs of dental plates within their mouth, two in the upper jaw and one in the lower. In the genera Chimaera, Hydrolagus and Harriotta, the morphology and distribution of this whitlockin within each dental plate differs both between different plates in the same species and between species. Whitlockin structures include ovoids, rods and tritoral pads, with substantial developmental changes between these. For example, rods appear before the ovoids and result from a change in the surrounding trabecular dentine. In Harriotta, ovoids form separately from the tritoral pads, but also contribute to tritor development, while in Chimaera and Hydrolagus, tritoral pads develop from rods that later are perforated to accommodate the vasculature. Nevertheless, the position of these structures, secreted by the specialized odontoblasts (whitloblasts), appears highly regulated in all three species. These distinct morphologies are established at the aboral margin of the dental plate, with proposed involvement of the outer dentine. We observe that this outer layer forms into serially added lingual ridges, occurring on the anterior plate only. We propose that positional, structural specificity must be contained within the ectomesenchymal populations, as stem cells below the dental epithelium, and a coincidental occurrence of each lingual, serial ridge with the whitlockin structures that contribute to the wear-resistant oral surface.  相似文献

Two proteins exhibiting alpha-L-rhamnosidase activity, RhaA and RhaB, were identified upon fractionation and purification of a culture filtrate from Aspergillus aculeatus grown on hesperidin. Both proteins were shown to be N glycosylated and had molecular masses of 92 and 85 kDa, of which approximately 24 and 15%, respectively, were contributed by carbohydrate. RhaA and RhaB, optimally active at pH 4.5 to 5, showed K(m) and V(max) values of 2.8 mM and 24 U/mg (RhaA) and 0.30 mM and 14 U/mg (RhaB) when tested for p-nitrophenyl-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside. Both enzymes were able to hydrolyze alpha-1,2 and alpha-1,6 linkages to beta-D-glucosides. Using polyclonal antibodies, the corresponding cDNA of both alpha-L-rhamnosidases, rhaA and rhaB, was cloned. On the basis of the amino acid sequences derived from the cDNA clones, both proteins are highly homologous (60% identity).  相似文献

The Aspergillus aculeatus rhaA gene encoding an alpha-L-rhamnosidase has been expressed in both laboratory and industrial wine yeast strains. Wines produced in microvinifications, conducted using a combination of the genetically modified industrial strain expressing rhaA and another strain expressing a beta-glucosidase, show increased content mainly of the aromatic compound linalool.  相似文献
